Hello,
Can y tell me making of a best tank from Alistar character?
How many points add to Str, Dex, Con, etc.?
Which skills are necessary to choice?
Champion as a second specialization?
Alistar as a Tank build

I don't really remember the specifics, but if you have the Warden's Keep DLC make sure Alistair has enough Strength to equip any armor and make sure you side with Avernus against Sophia. Once you kill her get the Warden Commander armor set from her body and give it to Alistair and make sure he's using Sword + Shield. Champion is a great 2nd specialization for Alistair as a tank. My equipment setup for Alistair was Starfang Longsword, Earthheart's Steel Bulwark Shield, Warden Commander Armor, Boots, and Gloves, and the Standard-Bearer's Helm. With that gear he was arguably my sturdiest tank, almost on par with Shale. Make sure you fill out Alistair's Templar and Sword + Shield skill trees before worrying about the Champion skill tree. That's what I did anyway. Alistair is perfectly suited for tanking even elite bosses like the High Dragon and the Archfiend if you have him built right. My favorite tactic though is to bring both Alistair and Shale as twin tanks, then for my 3rd follower I bring Arcane Warrior spec Wynne and have my main PC, a Rogue with Assassin spec and filled out dual weapons trees run in to repeatedly backstab the boss. Look up my city elf rogue 'Darrien' for my rogue build. It may not be the best out there but it compliments a Tanker Alistair very nicely. The stats to focus on for a Tank Alistair are Strength, Dexterity (just enough to qualify for every Sword + Shield talent), and Constitution.

You're not the only one trust me... For some unknown reason the Warden's Keep DLC show up as Free on mine even though I only got the Collectors Edition yet I cannot download it because I don't have enough bioware points.

I wouldn't worry about it, I don't have it either and my Alistair is doing more than fine in his Blood Dragon Armour.

a very nice armor is juggernaut. juggernaut armor has a req of 38 STR. I also saw that some nice end game swords/shields dont need more then 38 STR. there are armors/shields that req more STR but I want to add the rest to DEX for the skills and rest in CON.

enough str for the best armor you want to use (blood dragon is like 38, some heavier armor 42) and then put the rest in dex
first playthrough i rushed through and had a balanced str/dex/con alistair, worked fine but that was on normal. im siding with arguments made in other threads that dex tank>con tank for various reasons, and am currently trying it out on nightmare (with sten though, respecced for sword and board replacing alistair)

some points in willpower also help to get some more stamina for ability's, since later in the game i really makes a difference, and i don't know why, but for some reason Alistair is always the first to die... no matter the armor, and i got an mage AW/BM who seems to live longer then him against bosses... really weird...

I think you've probably already given the answer to your own question. Taking down a dragon-shapeshifter at level 12 might be a little tough, so yes: come back later. Preferably with a healer and a couple of archers.^^

yeah, taking on Flemeth / High Dragon at lvl 12 is suicide. my mage was a level or two before 20, and my rogue was at least 20 before they soloed either one (hard difficulty).

I did it just now.. Still at level 12,though.. I feel soo relieved.. With a bunch of lesser health potions of course.. ^^
I ended up with Sten laying on the ground,though.. But still, my Main Character did the "dragonhead-chopping" thing at the end of battle.. Thanks a million, miss Caladhiel.. ^^

There's a tactic for fighting High Dragons at low levels which no one seems to quote, but its the method I use every time.
Have a character with taunt suit up in tank gear, preferably with some fire resist if possible and heavy armor helps with threat levels.
At the dragon fight on the peak for example, position your other 3 characters at the edges of the battlefield, all within range of each other for healing (use individual movement for this). Make sure you only equip them with ranged weapons and remove any melee weapons, even on your 2nd weapon set. They will also need a tactic slot saying 'Attack nearest visible'.
Use the horn to summon the dragon, then as it lands have your tank character engage it and taunt it. This should cause your spare characters to start using ranged attacks. As it turns to face you (that funny 90 degree hop), run to either side of it at a 90 degree angle so you're directly facing its flank. Keep a few steps away so you're not too close, and make sure you're right at the center of his flank so his legs don't swipe you.
Make sure you do not tell your character to attack it again as your positioning will be ruined and you'll be smushed =). When it jumps to face you again, quickly repeat this manoeuvre.
Re-use taunt every few times you dodge as stamina isn't an issue with this method, but it gets messy if you lose hate ^^. You can continue to lead it by the nose like this and your ranged characters will kill it off (it doesn't take that long even with low level characters). At worst you'll misjudge a dodge or two and you'll also catch a few fireballs, but just keep health poultices handy and use them when its safe.
Is it worth me posting this as a fresh post somewhere? First time posting in these forums, but in all my googling i've never seen this method mentioned ^^. Hope someone finds this helpful!

You used the foolish on-site finder instead of a professional search. You ended up with an antique, old and dead post in an off-topic forum reserved to the stand-alone Character Creator utility, which was as close to a demo as DA:O ever had.

Oh, I only checked the post previous to mine, didn't see the 1yr tag on the preceding one.
And a professional search? I used google, which 95% of players will use, and found nothing related to my strategy, that's all I was saying. Certainly didn't use the Bioware forum search lol.
