Well i agree but this past year they have really been in the forefront of the gaming world.

Metacritics always give a higher grade to the hot developers or the big name developers/publishers. They also hook up the games that are suppsed to be big sellers. Dont belive that go look at the meta score for COD: BO and then look at the forums.

My guess will be somewhere between 85 - 90. And that it would be higher if people weren't going in with massive biases and unrealistic expectations. Be interesting to see where the dust settles although as others have said ultimately your own review is the only one that matters.

I'll just trust ign On this I rarely disagree with their ratings but I already preordered so I'm 100% sure the game will get 8.5-9.5

It honestly is one of the only ways to tell a good game from a bad game is if you buy it yourself. <_< 

I find myself disagreeing with many, many criticis to the point where I don't trust a single reviewer until the game is out and in my hands. If it's bad, it's bad for the reasons you play it. If it's good, it's good for the reasons you play it. 

This is also what demo's are for, to gauge if you're going to buy it or not especially since it is showcasing thegame to you. Whether that's good or bad is up to the consumer. Critics are there to help the consumer make an informed decision on a product before purchase. Whether or not one purchases it is up to them, after all, and some of us do buy any game that catches our interest, ignoring the reviews for it and seeing if we find it enjoyable.

i would argue that forming an accurate opinion without playing the game is quite hard and can often lead to false conclusions.

I usually stick to 3-5 sites that I "trust" regarding reviews according to my own tastes and preferences. If they tend to like a product, there is a very good change that I would have the same opinion.
