Proves that graphics factor big time into review scores, not saying that GTAIV was a graphical showpiece, but certainly previous games in the series were "better" or at least were more fully featured.   And Saint's Row has better gameplay, or at least I prefer the foolishness of it :o

I actually liked GTAIV the best in the series. The gameplay wasn't so great but a huge improvement from the originals. The city, characters, story, voice acting...I loved it all.Hated it in the previous installments.

Probably a 95- 5 points behind The Witcher 2.

The highest rated game on Metacritic is GTAIV with a 98...

Just sayin'

....? I went to high scores of all time and GTAIV was first.Never saw Ocarina of Time.Although Ocarina of Time is only based off of 22 votes.

As long as it is as good as Invisible War then I cannot wait to play it.  Best weapon ever in a game, the guided rocket launcher from Deus Ex 2!:o

Do not ever, say that to a hardcore DE fan - they will flay you alive. To them, they think that IW is an abomination.

Does that mean I shouldn't bring up how the PS2 version of Deus Ex was better than the PC version?;)

And, I certainly will not mention to them that Invisible War is a superior game than the original, but I do think it is because it fixes everything wrong with the original, most notably you will not find yourself in a situation where weapon choice affects your ability to progress through a level.  Or, where boss fights go from impossible to trivial depending on what weapons you lucked out on having in your inventory:P:devil::devil::devil:

Some points behind the Witcher 2.

Not that I care, I make my own assumptions whether I like the game or not.

We all know that it will end up in 85 - 100 range and that is not questionable. The main thing for which I cheer for is that "psychological" barrier of 89/90 is crossed which always means an extra incentive for the consumer.

What else are you going to do in a time when both games are near release? Personally I rather speculate, debate, and have fun with pre-game release, rather than go into fetal position waiting for the time to go faster.

Somewhere between 0 and 100.

Edit: I really will never understand why so many people deride Metacritic so much.  They provide a simple, elegant, and useful service.

It's one thing to disagree with a review, but saying that Metacritic is worthless is like saying you disagree with statistical records.

No offence to Oblivion fans but I gotta agree. I literally fell asleep from boredom after playing for about a hour and a half and never picked the game up again. I do not see what everone else seemed to with that game.

On topic. DAO got a 91 on metacritic right? If thats the case I think DA2 will be getting about a 93 because of the ME2 effect. I don't mean that derogatively I just expect DA2 to appeal to a much broader audience than DAO did and recieve higher praise from it.

Don't listen to metacritic scores.

Oh, do pray tell. What scores should we listen to, oh wise one?

Just buy it on the first day and decide for yourself?

The point of a review is to read it first and determine wether it's worth buying or not, so you don't waste your money.

Herp derp.

Yea excpet reviews can't be trusted since we know they are probably paid under the table to give it good scores? Remember Kane & Linch? exactly....

I don't but literally every post wulfsturm wants to debate with me he pulls up metacritic. It's one thing to use it as a source, it's anotehr thing to use it as your only source.

Kane and Lynch got pretty mediocre reviews for the most part, and its Metacritic averages reflect this.  I'm not sure what you're getting at here.

Edit: While I do think Metacritic is a valuable resource, I don't consider it an end-all be-all because I don't really look at reviews that way.  I do think it's useful, though, because when a game gets almost universally bad or mediocre reviews, I know that the odds of my really liking it are probably quite a bit lower than if the game got universally excellent reviews.

But, of course, I certainly disagree with critics from time to time.

The metacritic score will be very high, but that score is meaningless to me. I only trust one professional reviewer who appreciates RPGs for more than just their graphics. He does extensive reviews and ended up giving Dragon Age a 9/10 and Awakening a 5/10. He's such a dork, but hasn't ever let me down.

ANGRY JOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! ANGRY JOE IS HERE! ANGRY JOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

LOL yes!! He's the best reviewer as far as I'm concerned.
Wait how did you know I was talking about him?

Angry Joe is one of my favorite reviewers too! Only thing I have realy disagreed with him on is fable 3. He did a video on the top 30 somthing things wrong with it but I cant help liking that game

I lus angry Joes' reviews, but that list was crap. He had three good points, and the rest was a bunch of random ****e and he repeated his self about 5 times.

I think DA2 should get somewhere between an 90-95 on PC and 88-94 on consoles.

I didn't know he was so popular :o
What other revieweres do you guys recommend?

I was quite addicted to Oblivion when it first came out, then it got rather boring to me. I think it was the freedom of going wherever I pleased and doing pretty much whatever I wished that appealed to me. But I can't play it ever again, now. I tried it a few weeks ago for the first time in years and it is still boring the hell out of me within minutes of gameplay. Fallout 3 isn't much different. I think I'm spoiled as a gamer now or something, but where I used to be into the sandbox stuff and the huge worlds, I'd much rather the game went at a faster pace with more character interaction. In Oblivion, all the Argonians seemed the same, all Bretons seemed the same, all Nords seemed the same...there just weren't many "good" defined characters. Even Martin Septim seemed like every other Imperial to me.

it will have an over inflated score because of the bioware name.
