Any pre-order (SE or Regular from when DA2 pre-orders started until game launches) at a participating retailer - gets the Fadeshear and Lion of Orlais items (sword/shield). 

The major retailers should be on the 'participating' list, but as always it is best to confirm directly with your store of preference - we don't decide who participates, they do.

Depending on whether or not EA/BioWare offers manual installation packages for the FB items (they did for the Journeys items for Origins), you might be able to use them without playing Legends. And that is only if authorization isn't required, which is the case for many free items.

Legends is still in beta, but it will be officially launched next month, before the DA II release date. Then you will simply have to play the game and unlock various achievements for the items, which I'm sure will be public knowledge by that time.

While I know this 14 days old but no this is wrong the next data wipe is wednesday then it goes into Open beta so the unlocks will not be happening before the release of DA2.  The unlocks will be available at release of DA:L not within beta.

All items will be incredible overpowered, removing all item progression for the whole playthrough and appear in your inventory at the beginning for no reason. It's always like that with this crap.
So immersive!

If you don't count the Ser Isaac armor, they almost got all the armor slots covered. :x

I just hope it doesn't get as bad as DAO did, after I had all the DLC I was loading a new save with at least 5 or 6 'really' decent items.  if not best in slot items.

I've updated the original post, presumably for the last time, now that the release date is here. Personally I'll have to wait until Friday to get my copy, but I don't foresee any more items appearing by then.

And Blood Dragon Armor now makes its third appearance in a separate game!
