I think I screwed up, I started the romance, of sorts, gone to his tent, etc, but now all that I can do is when "I want to discuss something personal", the only options are
1. Tent
2, Leave
3. End relationship
4.  Never mind. 

I think I have approval maxed, do I need to drop it some to trigger anything?

If you already had all the conversations (listened to stories, answered questions, etc) what you have left are gifts (the gloves and the boots) and the whole Landsmeet deal when the romance gets resolved.

Like the other poster said, Zevran's romance does not resolve until after the Landsmeet is called. I won't spoiler you further, but after you go to Denerim for the Landsmeet, travel around a bit in the city and see what happens.

Try the other dialogue options from the "care to answer some questions" if you didn't do all those you might still have convos left, even if romance is maxed out. You won't get any more points though if his romance is maxed. If romance is maxed out then as others stated nothing new will happen until after the Landsmeet.

And keep in mind, asking Zevran to go to the tent, all throughout the game, makes him happy and should be done! Even after the landsmeet is called

Oh, so until you call for a Landsmeet to happen, IE, go to Denerim with Arl Eamon, etc, nothing else can happen? Ok, thats good to know.

No need to resolve the landsmeet to have the romance achievement. I got it much sooner with (adore) relationship.

Quick question guys if you don't mind
I'm near the end of the game on my second time and Im romancing the resident hunk of elf Zevran anyway I'm not sure whether I've ruined the romance or not, I've given every gift available (boots and gloves) yet his approval is still on "warm" and as far as I have read he can't love you after the Talisen encounter unless it's at "adore" so have I botched the romance?? Thank you!

"Warm" is a friendship approval rating, not a romance one. So yes, something is botched.

Have you used the Feastday Gifts or Pranks? They have a habit of fouling up romance flags.

Oh I didnt even think of that! I've given him the brandy but that's it I'll try that next time im playing, thanks for the help

When you click on him, does he say, "You call?" If so, you're fine. If he says, "What say you?" the romance is off. Corker is right that the Feastday pranks mess up what the approval says on the meter, but the romance could still actually be on.

Oh that's fine he does say "you call" being as I'm far into the game I didn't relish replaying it all again thanks for all your help!
