The worst thing in DAO for me was being able to make Wynne (or even Morrigan) a Blood Mage, yet they continued to be all preachy (Morrigan less so) about how bad Blood Magic is... at least they somewhat fixed it so that Anders acknowledges it if you make him a blood mage... though from what I've heard, that might not carry over (though I hope it does).

Full agreement here.

To be fair, you could fit, like, 50 different weapons and suits of armour into those backpacks, along with poultices, crafting items and a crapload of other stuff. And despite how heavy that all that stuff must have been, it never impeded your movement or weighed you down.

You weren't buying a backpack. You were buying an invisible leather TARDIS.

Damn you Face of Evil, I don't even play D&D and I've been reading this strip for a good hour or so.

Luke! Don't! It's a trap!

Why the all the Deep Roads hating? I can think of far more boring sections(the mage tower, the fade!, andraste cultist temple zzz). At least the Deep Roads had a sense of creepyness, AND the coolest boss in the game.

I would like to see no more of the animals that jump on you andclaw at your face for 2 mintes then you die or the stupid spiders that shoot spider-webs and kill you after your stuck in them for a while and lastly the stupid spell where you cant heal youself if you are the only spirit healer in your party (by the way spirit healer, arc warrior is a very ueful setup) you can be screwed over.

I actually liked all those things, but I must say, I wish you could adjust Hawke's height and muscle: fat ratio. It would've been awesome to run around with Cousland The Gourmand.

Repetative combat, it became a chore during missions like the Deep roads and such.

The auto-switching of weapons! Every time Leliana switched from her highly skilled bow to her none-skilled duel-swords and just ran in to battle... and her death. If I want her to switch weapons I will tell her to switch. But when I want her to be a ranged fighter killing enemys from afar then she should do that and NOT switch weapons!

Its one thing if an enemy is hacking away at her but running straight in to the fray of thiongs... bah.

The whole going through 12794764 spells. I remember going through awakenings, and not having any clue as to where to put my talent points, since most spells were basically duplicates and had no use. Geez, that was a nightmare...

There's a tactics menu for that. You don't even need to fiddle too much with it, just set her to archer and ranged behaviour and a preset should come up if you can't be bothered detailing every step.

I hated picking up a late or even an early companion and i really liked their appearance and their personality but their talent points that were AUTO SPENT were all wrong for your party

Wouldnt it be easier and better if the came with all the talent points, skill points, and spec points unspent?

Wouldnt this allow us to control who we would like to be able to use and not have certain party members picked for us?

Agree completely. Having to wait until I was 1/3~ through the game before getting Zevran then having him join at level 12 with a bunch of points dumped in strength....

Or even Morrigan who joins relatively early but already has talents wasted in Shapeshifting... I know shapeshifting is part of her backstory and it would not even bother me that they force that specialization on you, but after 5 minutes of novelty I never turned into a spider again.

My absolute biggest beef with DA:O though was that nobody seemed to realize that I was a blood mage!

I am all like "Sure, lets use blood magic to save the boy, I will kill this woman right now, where is my butcher knife... Wait, what do you mean we need Jowan for this?!"

Not to mention Alistair's constant complaining about how evil they are even though he is traveling with one.  And despite the fact that a blood mage is almost single handedly saving the entire country, everyone still hates them and is not shy about saying so right to my face. If I were really as evil as they say then I would drain their blood right then just for insulting me. And if Loghain wanted to win at the landsmeet then calling attention to my repeated use of blood magic would have surely swayed some votes, but he made no mention of it either.

/rant over

Lol, I am almost definitely gonna go blood mage in DA2, but I hope at least somebody reacts appropriately...

EDIT: and mage hats. I have 2 mages at all times and in all my times through the game, not one of those mages have ever put on those ridiculous hats. An option to hide them should be a minimum, better looking ones would be nice as well. Circlets/crowns have always made good mage headgear imo.

Fortunately there also was not a single mage hat in the game with stats that made even the tiniest bit of difference, so not wearing them did not hinder the mage.

Having my arcane warrior all decked out in the Effort set, only to find that I spend the whole time in that stance that makes me a see through apparition. Just lame.

Unequip her melee weapons, change tactics to archer and behaviour to ranged.

-The stupid mage animation of poke, poke, staff in the air, poke, poke. I'm so glad the spell animations are better now.

-The way combat was sometimes quite jarring.

-Companions who don't give two chuffs about your character. "Oh, you just had to kill Tamlen because he contracted the taint? Your best friend since childhood who just confessed his love? I don't want to talk about that, let me tell you some sex poetry!"
