I hated picking up a late or even an early companion and i really liked their appearance and their personality but their talent points that were AUTO SPENT were all wrong for your party
Wouldnt it be easier and better if the came with all the talent points, skill points, and spec points unspent?
Wouldnt this allow us to control who we would like to be able to use and not have certain party members picked for us?
Agree completely. Having to wait until I was 1/3~ through the game before getting Zevran then having him join at level 12 with a bunch of points dumped in strength....
Or even Morrigan who joins relatively early but already has talents wasted in Shapeshifting... I know shapeshifting is part of her backstory and it would not even bother me that they force that specialization on you, but after 5 minutes of novelty I never turned into a spider again.
My absolute biggest beef with DA:O though was that nobody seemed to realize that I was a blood mage!
I am all like "Sure, lets use blood magic to save the boy, I will kill this woman right now, where is my butcher knife... Wait, what do you mean we need Jowan for this?!"
Not to mention Alistair's constant complaining about how evil they are even though he is traveling with one. And despite the fact that a blood mage is almost single handedly saving the entire country, everyone still hates them and is not shy about saying so right to my face. If I were really as evil as they say then I would drain their blood right then just for insulting me. And if Loghain wanted to win at the landsmeet then calling attention to my repeated use of blood magic would have surely swayed some votes, but he made no mention of it either.

Lol, I am almost definitely gonna go blood mage in DA2, but I hope at least somebody reacts appropriately...
EDIT: and mage hats. I have 2 mages at all times and in all my times through the game, not one of those mages have ever put on those ridiculous hats. An option to hide them should be a minimum, better looking ones would be nice as well. Circlets/crowns have always made good mage headgear imo.
Fortunately there also was not a single mage hat in the game with stats that made even the tiniest bit of difference, so not wearing them did not hinder the mage.
