So I've been playing every single race/class/sex combination I can (only through two so far), and I'm running into a bit of a problem- I'm trying to find a pair of weapons for my latest build- a dual-wielding city elf warrior. Not the best starting material, I know, but I'm playing for story right now rather than to beat the game. But I also want a character that can do thier fair share of the damage.
My problem right now is swords. Being a warrior, I'm going to be boosting strength after I get dex high enough to unlock the two-swords ability, but I just don't know which ones to go after.
I'm right in the beginning of the game- cleared Honnleath and got Shale, and managed to get the "star metal" event just as I was leaving. I have all the DLC and everything, so those options are open to me.
Personally, I think my next stop should be Warden's Keep, so I can clean that out and get a one-handed Starfang forged to fill one slot, but I'm really confused on what I should use for my second. I used to use stuff like Duncan's Sword for my main, but Maric's sword looks nice, too.
My current frontrunner for off-hand weapon would be Topsider's Honor, found in the Blight quest "A Paragon Of Her Kind". This would give me six rune slots, and I could simply save money to buy powerful runes to customize them between missions.
Am I going for a decent combination, or is there a better one I could be using?
Good equipment for dual-wield warrior?

Starfang from Warden's Keep and probably Keening Blade from the Unbound side quest. As a side plus they share the same model (although different colors) so they look pretty cool together

Why are you using 2 swords? For role-play purposes? For the looks? Because 2 daggers does better damage, even just a dagger in offhand is better. If you have already started putting points into str i would just go with a dagger in offhand, the dex you need is enough to provide some decent damage. Go with Starfang and a) The Rose's Thorn (very expensive, from Orzammar) or, as you are a city elf you can get Fang from your father when you return to the alienage if you take the blame for killing the Arls son in the origin for free.

It's more for the rune bonuses- I mean, Starfang has three slots, Topsider's Honor has three slots. I've never been able to afford The Rose's Thorn when I see it, and usually by then I have a lot of good or great swords just lying around (usually keep Sten a 2H warrior, and if I steer Wynne and Morrigan to Arcane Warrior, one gets the Arcane Warrior sword that drops off the crazy guy in the temple above Haven and the other gets another good sword), so I can't really justify dropping the entire contents of my wallet for one dagger when I have so much decent equipment already on hand.
I always do the DLC stuff before I hit the main quest areas (Honnleath, Return to Ostagar, Warden's Keep), and I have the Dress of the Provocateur (Leiliana's Song) and that sword you get for completing Darkspawn Chronicles, as well as the first part of the Blood Dragon armor. So I'm pretty much swimming in decent equipment before I even start gathering my allies. Given how everything is so blasted expensive in this game (I usually clean out merchants of poultices, injury kits and lyrium potions when I pass through town or meet one on the road), I usually have to rely on free equipment and make sure everyone has decent ranged weapons and melee weapons. (It also helps clear my inventory of stuff when it's not possible to run right to Warden's Keep to sell vendor trash and store named stuff).
I might just start ranking a party member in Herbalism so I can just make the blasted things on my own this game, though. Elfroot is everywhere, and I can always just stop by the Dalish Camp or another handy merchant to buy the distillation agents and bottles.

I like The Veshialle (main hand) and Starfang (offhand). You'll also have six slots.

Going with 2 daggers gives you the best speed, but the damage is low, and you said you're boosting Strength, anyway. Going with 2 Main-Hand weapons is therefore a solid choice.
Frankly, the Starfang/Veshaille combo is really going to be your best combination. Personally, though, I'd put the Veshaille in the off-hand. The Dual-Weapon Training skill implies that there is some sort of penalty to the damage done by an off-hand weapon. The Veshaille is a Waraxe, and Waraxes get a base +110% Attribute bonus. Now, I can't find any definitive data on what this does, but I'd guess that when the game calculates damage with a Waraxe, it multiples your Strength by 1.1, then uses that number to determine the damage. Since The Veshaille is working with higher base stats, it doesn't see as much of a damage drop when wielded in the off-hand.
In addition, once you pick up Dual-Weapon Training, any weapon in the off-hand gets an extra +25% Attribute Bonus. This means that Waraxes get the Strength stat multiplied by 1.35 before determining damage, so this helps to equalize your damage output once you get Dual-Weapon Mastery.
The only issue is getting the money up to get The Veshaille. Not easy, but worth it.

Looks like saving up for The Veshaille will be the big thing. I think this party will be making its own healing gear to save a bunch of cash.
Now I just need a great place to money-grind.

If you're getting Herbalism up, just make and sell Potent Lyrium Potions. The completed potion sells for more than it's components cost, so you can make money by getting the materials, making the potion, then selling the completed potions. It's tedious, but it can earn you as much money as you want given enough time.

In Dust Town there's a Lyrium dealer. You can make some good money with him. Completing every board quest (The Chantry, blackstone Irregulars and Interest parties) helps a lot.

Money Making Guide
If you go the potent lyrium potion route, who you buy ingredients from matters. Think of Bodahn as a convenience store. He sells almost everything you need, but he is pricey.

Well my opinion is that using starfang and marric's blade(in dragonbone) is a very good combo(if you have mastered duel-wield) and using Cailen's armor in dragonbone is good def against tuff enimies even the archdemon.
use grandmaster lightning+two grand silverite rune to starfang and use grand fire+grand silverite to marric*s blade.it has always worked for me in nightmare but is just my opinion.
