Dragon Age II demo is not 3D ready, i'm worried.  There isn't a 3D mouse cursor.  Big companies like Blizzard have incorporated a 3D mouse cursor for World of Warcraft and I hope Bioware does the same for their games.

I want you guys to enjoy the beauty of 3D for Dragon Age & Dragon Age II.

Here is a 3D screenshot I took and uploaded so you guys can see how Dragon Age looks in 3D.

1. Open up this link in a new window: oi53.tinypic.com/2rmsgwi.jpg

2. Then cross your eyes until you see THREE images, then focus your eyes on the middle image.

You'll see Dragon Age with a 3D effect.

(Note: With 3D glasses there is no discomfort like crossing your eyes).

Posted Image

Here is a tutorial that explains how to do it more precisely: www.neilcreek.com/blog/2008/02/28/how-to-see-3d-photos/

It takes practice.

(I know this is Dragon Age II discussion topic, but I'm posing this hoping devs and producers will see it and make Dragon Age II stereo compatible.).

As tempting as it is to say "No U", I'll just let time and former experiences with that media feature speak for themselves.

I love people who start their posts stating that everyone that disagrees with them is ignorant.

It's such a simple thing.

Yep. Making a game 3D takes no time, manpower, or money.

It's so simple and easy to do, I assume Btingly would mod it into 3D himself if they released a toolset.

Are you the same guy who used to constantly go on about 3d on the mass effect boards. You and about 3 other people actually want 3D. no one cares.

Hey, take it easy one him. It's bad enough for the guy that he wasted all that money on a graphics card with an utterly useless gimmick feature.

This coming from a guy who stares at a flat 2D image.  It's not natural to stare at 2D images, eyes were meant to view objects with depth & convergence.  You guys can't be this ignorant. It's scary.

Really?

His complaint that the mouse cursor, which exists solely on the PC version of DA2, is not 3D compatible... is because of consoles?

why? such a small amount of people have them. It takes quite abit of money to make 3D in games. People have been staring at 2D images for years it might change in a few years but for now its 2d.

look a the 3DS people have said that it could cause minor eye damge looking at  a 3d screen for a long period of time.

This is a poor argument. It is not natural to view things the way you view them, either.

In fact, if "natural" is your argument then viewing 2D is far more natural than tricking your eyes into thinking there is a third dimension.

Because what the OP is deftly dodging is the fact that this new "3D" technology consists of superimposed layers of 2D projections, and is by no way, shape, or form, similar to actual, true, 3 dimensional perception.

1. The 3D system you're using sucks.

OR

2. The depth & convergence are too high for you and need to be lowered.

OR

3. You need time to adjust.  Your brain has been wired to view 2D images for the past 10-15 years of your life and 3D is a shock.

Playing in Stereoscopic 3D is like when Neo woke up for the first time and used his real eyes.

It took me about three weeks to transition to 3D and now I can't look at a stupid flat 2D image anymore.

For first person games I agree.

However, I have been to many, many gaming conferences on 3D and have yet to see a compelling argument for 3D in third person games.  Like Dragon Age.

It's 8398 times better than 2D and a very comfortable experience.  I can actually see enemies off in the distance, feel the depth and shoot accordingly with more precision.

Have you even tried Dragon Age in NVIDIA 3D Vision?

It looks sooo beautiful. The only problem is the mouse cursor is 2D.

I wish I could show you how beautiful Dragon Age is in Stereo 3D.

*grabs a book*
Dear maker, those letters are unnatural. I'm going blind!

On a more serious note. No, eyes don't give a toss whether or not an image is 2d or 3d. All they do scan for electro-magnetic radiation with a frequency in the visible light spectrum. That said the image processing part in your brain might care; there is for instance an actual really rare disorder that makes reading almost impossible unless the letters have 3d effects to them.
But if there's anything unnatural going then it's the current generation of 3d. I've yet to see a 3d image that look actually real and not "wrong" on some level.

3D has been introduced several times before, this time will be no different, it will last for max 2 years then be forgotten again.

Considering that 3D technology has been around for almost 60+ years and no one has yet figured out to make it last with any kind of long term profitably, namely because people get sick of crap being thrown at them. The only reason Hollywood thinks it will work this time is because of the IMAX 3D when a few big blockbusters fail in 3D this fad will die again. 3D Gaming is just a pipe dream because with 3D monitors and TVs the effect doesn't work very well and due to poor economy and the waste of time, money, and resources 3D gaming won't last because no one wants to spend money upgrading their PCs, monitors, and TV for a stupid gimmick that has a poor track record of long term success.
