If 3D is his topic of interest , let him be.
He is talking about strapping on goggles so I'm done here.

These are not goggles. They fit comfortably and you forget you have them on after 10 seconds.

.. The answer to your last question is "yes" there is.
I wasn't aware that I said there wasn't anything...... Infact I din't even ask a question lol
But
no, using 3d glasses is not holographic viewing. When a screen is able
to project a full 3d image without a 2d screen, superimposing other 2d
images and using optical ware then i'll be excited about actuall
holographic viewing.
They are working on it, but probably won't be anywhere near good for another 50+ years.
People wear glasses in life and they get used to it. It's no big deal.
Didn't you watch avatar 3d in the theatre?

Wrong. You notice you have them on.They are just like the 3D glasses you get at the theatre. And as for someone who wears glasses already you will get no enjoyment from wearing two different glases. Also you get no effect of 3D with wearing two glasses.

I think I'd rather have big goggles. No, I'm not trolling you; it's jsut that I wear glasses, and I'd never be able to wear both my glasses and those, whereas something more like the safety specs worn in science lessons, I could wear over my glasses and be OK. And yes, I am so short-sighted I need my glasses to look at my monitor, and no, I don't want to get contact lenses - my eyes water like crazy if anything gets nearer than my glasses to them, so it would take far too much time to acclimatise to contact lenses.
As for 3D in games... it's a graphical upgrade I'd have to buy extra kit for, and to be honest, I'm more interested in the gameplay than the graphics, so I'll wait until it becomes a built in feature, thanks.

No, it's horrible when people are complete d-bags and go around insulting people for not wanting to buy the thing they like. As for 3D, I refuse to ever use it as long as there is glasses. I am among those people who don't have perfect nice eyesight, and wearing two pairs of glasses at once is f***ing retarded. <_<

ps: i can understand not everybody likes it though.
PSS : I actually really think dragon age 2 will have also the 3d option, because to my mind almost every game I know has the possibility ?!
PSSS: for non 3d players: note that it is not actually the same as in the cinema, it is nothing any1 should pay lots of money to have but it enhances the immersion a lot!
Furthermore I actually find the haters quite disturbing, please stay out of the thread....

What is your address? I am going to come and punch you, 3D is NOT welcome in my games. At least Todd Howard has made his stance very clear that Bethesda will NOT be using the 3D gimmick. It is pathetic, leave it in the cinema.Btingly wrote...
Stereo 3D is not a gimmick, anyone who says so is very ignorant. It's an amazing experience to play your favorite games in 3D.
It's 2011 and I can't believe Bioware isn't on board yet.
Dragon Age II Stereo 3D problems:
- 2D Mouse Cursor
All you had to do was give us a 3D mouse cursor, world of warcraft did it. Blizzard is a huge company and so is Bioware. You guys should have the resources to do this.
It's such a simple thing. PLEASE make sure Dragon Age 2 is compatible with NVIDIA 3D Vision.
Thanks.
That's pretty damned uncalled-for.
Threats can be taken seriously by the wrong people and cause problems. It's just not a smart thing to do.

I've worn 3D glasses over 3 decades...these are an improvement and I have a pair for movies, but not the 3D environment I thought you were requesting.
Personally I don't see anything wrong with your preference. You are welcome to bang on about it all you like
I do think it's a little silly and not prudent to call your only allie ignorant in the thread though.
I certainly wouldn't accuse you of trolling (which you are not) ...spamming would be correct though.
I'm done now

Does it? I've never tried it in gaming, but in cinema I find that making a feature out of the fact that what you're watching is unreal actively harms my ability to immerse. And immersion doesn't really have a great deal to do with how close to someones perception of reality something is, rather the persons ability to accept the unreal elements, and acceptance of the two dimensional nature of audio visual mediums is something we all got very used to accepting a long time ago.Derax wrote...

So I don't buy "immersion" (but to be fair, people use "immersion" as a synonym for "I like it and feel quantifying it objectively will strengthen my case" around here more often than not, so I'm sensitive). I buy that it looks good, that it can be enjoyed, but I don't see it as any more advantageous than improved graphics.

Also the reason some people suffer migraines and other problems is because the eyes are being fooled into believing that depth exists, the eyes try to adjust focus for near or far when there is in fact no depth.
One of the best 3D effects I've seen so far used a motion detector to adjust depth aspect of an image, this did not require glasses, someone demonstrated it on youtube, I cannot presently find the link.

It maybe sound funny to you but in cinema I actually hate 3d films, too.
I agree they sometimes even kill the immersion.
It is important to know 3d cinema and 3d gaming is a different thing..
Also i do not like playing FPS in 3d , but Dragon Age is a game the 3d opt seems to be made for...
So it would be really really unfortunate (for me) if they did not make the 3d option.
Nevertheless I think the thread is unnecessary because almost every game runs in 3d....
