Dragon Age 3D Screenshot, no 3D glasses required. In hopes of DA2 being 3D ready.

Nvidia's 3D Vision technology is extremely good and works very well in a lot of games. I bet half the people flaming this guy only tried watching movies in 3D -and this is a quite different experience.
Sadly it's old compared to whats coming out now, it uses IR and USB for the glasses and based off 1990 tech and while it was great in 2008 it's now 2011 and LCD's and game consoles are coming out with 3D that requires no glasses or external hardware.
I'm never impressed by 3D with glasses, it's old tech and I have seen first hand better in a simple hand held game console.
Link pls where I can buy it!
Once again, ignorance reigns supreme when it comes to 3D knowledge.
Nintendo 3DS is a very small screen and it costs $299.00 ....
To have a proper 3D experience you need at least a 22 inch monitor. Doing the math, a 3D screen without glasses would be VERY expensive. Then you have to calculate development costs on top of that. You won't see this solution for at least 5 years.
Now mind you, unlike you guys i'm not going to hate. I'm looking forward to getting a nintendo 3dS! And i'll be one of the first people to buy the 3D no glasses screen when it comes out.
But let's stay on topic.
I want Dragon Age 2 to be 3D ready......
WOW saying that LCD 3D without glasses isn't as good as what your selling, is shocking
I never said that it wasn't as good, I just said it's going to take a long time before it's out.

It's exactly what you see in that screenshot except darker due to how 3D renders light correctly. Then like you said, you get the pop out effect and depth with sucks you into the game.

In their eyes (doyouseewhatididthere), 3D is marvelous because it's harder to pirate. The classical "camera under a jumper" technique of acquiring copies of the film doesn't work with 3D, so they'll continue to use it whether it helps the audience or not.Killroyomega wrote...
3D will NEVER be a good thing, no matter how hard the film industry tries to push it.
Again you're mixing up 3d games and 3d films
It can't be harder to copy because for example I can play games way older than the 3d feature without having to download anything, pls do not hate...

to be on topic, cant DAII just be optional to who ever wants it to be 3D and same for future games?
Unreal Engine supports stereoscopic 3D. There is no reason why Dragon Age II shouldn't of been 3D ready for those who wanted it and disabled for those who aren't interested.

You know, 3D is really easy to do... a toggle wouldn't be that hard to make, would it?
I'm pretty shocked bioware didn't add it. It's built into the unreal engine.

Mmm. Don't get me wrong, I think it's visually interesting so I'd support it being an option (assuming it's not terribly resource heavy), but it's not something I see as superior. Just different. (Also, see previous rant upon immersion.)Btingly wrote...

I completely understand that very few computer games are pirated by sneakily filming them on a handheld camera. But thanks for clearing that up for me.

Dragon Age II demo is not 3D ready, i'm worried. There isn't a 3D mouse cursor. Big companies like Blizzard have incorporated a 3D mouse cursor for World of Warcraft and I hope Bioware does the same for their games.
I want you guys to enjoy the beauty of 3D for Dragon Age & Dragon Age II.
Here is a 3D screenshot I took and uploaded so you guys can see how Dragon Age looks in 3D.
1. Open up this link in a new window: oi53.tinypic.com/2rmsgwi.jpg
2. Then cross your eyes until you see THREE images, then focus your eyes on the middle image.
You'll see Dragon Age with a 3D effect.
(Note: With 3D glasses there is no discomfort like crossing your eyes).
Here is a tutorial that explains how to do it more precisely: www.neilcreek.com/blog/2008/02/28/how-to-see-3d-photos/
It takes practice.
(I know this is Dragon Age II discussion topic, but I'm posing this hoping devs and producers will see it and make Dragon Age II stereo compatible. Unreal Engine supports stereoscopic 3D, there is no reason why any upcoming EA/bioware title shouldn't be 3d ready).

I did find a neat trick though, if you look away from your monitor, everything automatically renders in 3D! It's f'n ridiculous!

You have control over two things:
1. Popout aka Convergence.
2. Depth aka the distance between the front leg of a table and the back leg of the table and the trees behind it.
If you wnat more popout like a popup book then you increase convergence while lowering depth until you find a good balance.

If they put it in, that would be
great, but there would be like hardly anyone that would use the feature.
If I could set my puter up for 3D for 40 bucks, I might check it out,
otherwise i'll just spend my puter funds on better equipment instead.

This is a nice honest response with no hate and just facts. I agree the solution is expensive. The monitor is around $250.00 and the glasses around $180.00

Now ME is done in Unreal, but not DA as far as I know.
Also, whenever anyone says anything in software would be easy to program, a kitten dies. Please keep that in mind: _nothing_ is _ever_ easy to code in complex software. _NOTHING_
Stop killing kittens, please.
