Eh? Admittedly he was kinda asking for barney by pre-emptively calling people ignorant, but is "I wouldn't use it so I don't want it as an option for other people to enjoy" entirely reasonable?XBenotto18 wrote...

Why all this talk of Unreal engine? Isn't Dragon Age using Bioware's own proprietary engine?
Now ME is done in Unreal, but not DA as far as I know.
Also, whenever anyone says anything in software would be easy to program, a kitten dies. Please keep that in mind: _nothing_ is _ever_ easy to code in complex software. _NOTHING_
Stop killing kittens, please.

Hey thanks for that correction. I can understand now why Dragon Age can't be FULLy 3D ready, but all they have to do is add a 3d mouse cursor.

Are you the same guy who used to constantly go on about 3d on the mass effect boards. You and about 3 other people actually want 3D. no one cares.gimmickfeature.
This coming from a guy who stares at a flat 2D image. It's not natural to stare at 2D images, eyes were meant to view objects with depth & convergence. You guys can't be this ignorant. It's scary.
It's not "natural" to be using a computer either, but you're doing that too.

Nope no pop-up book look.
2 last things: I did not meen to offend you with the film industry, in fact your maybe right that they used it of trying to stop leaching, although one could find avatar in 3d from the very beginning
2nd: It is a pop-up effect but enhanced so you can't really compare it to a " same strange pop-up book look"
3rd: using the pictures is maybe a little bit hard...
PEACE guys

You're not going to cause damage to your eyes by crossing your eyes. Your eyes cross A LOT even when you're asleep focusing on dreams during REM. Yea the first time I tried it my eyes and mind are like "Wtf". A first time experience in every aspect of life will be new and feel different. 3D is not meant to be viewed with the cross eye technique, the glasses do it for you.

Oh god, it's not going to damage your eyes dude. I've been doing this technique for the past 15 years. I'm over thirty and have twenty twenty vision.

Panasonic has announced testers who have been exposed to roughly 10,000 hours of 3D with no problems reported what so ever. I have never experienced what you're talking about. I'll tell you one thing though, life is all about risk vs reward. The more you risk, the more you'll get out of life. Don't be a pansy
I have 20/20 vision and have been using 3D for a LONG time.
The monitor is also a health risk, typing too much is also a health risk and leads to carpal tunnel.
Drinking too much caffeine has health risks too.
The list goes on and on. Welcome to life.

Well thanks mr high and mighty with his fancy twenty twenty vision. You should put a health warning on your post, somthing like "People with twenty twenty vision only all people without are inferior humans and are unable to look at this without pain and suffering"

3D requires an adjustment period. It takes roughly three weeks for your eyes to adapt to 3D from the inferior 2D images you've been looking at all your life.

I just realised why you make so many identical threads about 3D - it's so you can cross your eyes and make all the threads merge so they're in 3D, isn't it?

It was the difficulty in pirating Avatar that sold them on the idea, which is why shortly after they started glueing it onto films that had been made without, with unfortunate effect. Avatar itself was 3D simply because of the producers technological interest in it.Derax wrote...

I'm not sure what that means. It's the unnatural edge to things, combined with obviously flat textures (like the ground in that picture) that makes elements look isolated, as in a pop up book rather than as a single cohesive view. Not that I'm saying 3D looks like that mind, just the crossy eyey thing, I was asking if they had the same "issue" (as I say, I don't think it's any better or worse, just different).Derax wrote...

Dragon Age II demo is not 3D ready, i'm worried. There isn't a 3D mouse cursor. Big companies like Blizzard have incorporated a 3D mouse cursor for World of Warcraft and I hope Bioware does the same for their games.
I want you guys to enjoy the beauty of 3D for Dragon Age & Dragon Age II.
Here is a 3D screenshot I took and uploaded so you guys can see how Dragon Age looks in 3D.
1. Open up this link in a new window: oi53.tinypic.com/2rmsgwi.jpg
2. Then cross your eyes until you see THREE images, then focus your eyes on the middle image.
You'll see Dragon Age with a 3D effect.
(Note: With 3D glasses there is no discomfort like crossing your eyes).
Here is a tutorial that explains how to do it more precisely: www.neilcreek.com/blog/2008/02/28/how-to-see-3d-photos/
It takes practice.
(I know this is Dragon Age II discussion topic, but I'm posing this hoping devs and producers will see it and make Dragon Age II stereo compatible.).
Sue for health risks
no health warning

3D is a gimmick. It was a gimmick 50 years ago. It was a gimmick 20 years ago. It's a gimmick today. Great way to make money though. ^^
The things i made with paper, carton and a old shoe box in kindergarten where not gimmick, make fun of me all you want but i made some people very proud that day.

You actually bring up a good point. I can't wait until the browser is in 3D, this will let me manage multiple windows more efficiently. I embrace the future, i'm not afraid of it like most of the responses in this thread.
Dragon Age is a beautiful game that deserves stereoscopic respect.
