I checked for this issue on these forums but only found posts related to killing Genitivi or whether to kill him or not, not my issue, however, I did find other posts regarding my issue on other forums. No one knows how to correct the problem, though.
In previous playthroughs I did not have this problem. But this time, the quest marker continues to appear above Brother Genitivi's house in Denerim even though I have completely finished the Urn of Sacred Ashes questline, cured the Arl, and finished speaking with Genitivi. (I did not end up killing him at the end of the quest). I spoke with him again after the quest and got my reward. I attempted EVERY available conversation option to see if that would make it go away, but it didn't.
The biggest problem with this is I can't do any other sidequests that involve finding people or places in Denerim while the Genitivi House marker is active. Even if I mark them active in the quest log, it doesn't matter, only the Genitivi House is marked. (Quests inside a building have the pointer but nothing outside in Denerim). The hooded couriers are not there, people I have to deliver letters to are not there, houses of relatives of blood mages not showing, etc. All of these showed just fine in previous playthroughs. It is surprising how many of these sidequests include Denerim so there is a LOT I can't do.
I don't remember because it was about 40 hours ago but I think the other post I read was my situation - that I went to Denerim before I did Redcliffe. The other post I read seems to think doing them in the "wrong order" led to the glitch. I do seem to recall doing them in different order this time.
If someone can please tell me how to get rid of the quest marker on the Genitivi House so I can do the rest of the quests I'd really appreciate it. I'm about 45 hours into this playthrough and it would be a real shame to start over at this point because of a glitch.
