I don't know why people think that there is going to be some kind of choice in relation to the Ultimate Sacrifice. The phrase has a specific meaning, and the achievement/trophy description states that it's awarded for finishing the Arrival pack.

The Ultimate Sacrifice isn't something that somebody can make on your behalf. Sacrificing a colony so save somebody else certainly doesn't qualify.

True enough. The end could be an event, and not necessarily a choice that results from finishing the DLC pack.

100 pages of rampant speculation. Here's to 100 more... Or some official news. Either way.

A re-cap for new comers:

KNOWN: There will be a new achievements that are “Covert Action"  - Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention. "Last Stand" - Survive 5 waves of enemies while protecting the "Object Rho". And finally, "The Ultimate Sacrifice" - Totally no info on this one has been found.

SOURCE: Data entries in the patch for the PS3 version of the game, published on this forum in the original post of this thread by Vamplosion.

KNOWN: Dr. Amada Kenson is scientist from the University of Arcturus who has published a paper declaring that most mass relays are far, far older than then Protheans, so much older that the same species couldn’t have built them.

SOURCE: Cerberus Daily News - last entry before going on hiatus (01.24.11).

KNOWN: There are data entries for a new star system in the Alternate Appearance Pack 2, at least in the PC version. The new system is: Viper Nebula, with the Bahak System in it. The Bahak system has five planets: Clogon, Aratoht, Yunaca, Urnola and Bastzuda. There is a goal marker for “Save Dr. Kenson,” but no indication of which planet. All planets are listed as under batarian surveillance and most are inhabited. SOURCE: Thanks to didymos1120 and charmingcharlie (plus any others I don’t know about.) for confirming this on this thread.

KNOWN: The Bahak System is the same system where there was a testy situation between the Earth Systems Alliance and the Batarian Hegemony. The system’s in the Skyllian Verge. SOURCE: Cerberus Daily News

(01.22.11 and 01.23.11.)

-A frigate from the batarian colony of Aratoht discovered an Alliance cruiser, the SSV Budapest, in the Bahak system. The Alliance claimed the Budapest chased pirates into batarian space-

Note: On Earth, there is a widely recognized rule of “hot pursuit” that allows a nation to pursue pirate into the
territorial waters of another country.

The Budapest eventually left Batarian space, averting a worse crisis. The Alliance refused to release the ship’s logbooks to support the pirate claim.

KNOWN: For every planet, EDI gives the same warning:

“The Batarian Hegemony considers any presence of Alliance military vessels in batarian space as hostile. The Normandy SR2, while an independent vessel, strongly resembles the Normandy SR1, an Alliance ship. Use of stealth systems is highly recommended.”

Each of the planet descriptions let you know how intense its spy satellite surveillance is.

THEREFORE: Kenson is in batarian space and the Alliance can’t send in a rescue without risking a clash.

KNOWN: The Normandy is a Cerberus ship that’s fast and stealthy. Its chances of getting caught are lower than a normal vessel and the consequences of it being caught - as long as you’re not on it – aren’t as dire (diplomatically) as the capture and destruction of an alliance ship. It also has EDI, which betters its odds, and Joker.

SPECULATIVE: Note also the mission objectives: “Covert Action" - Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention.” That may only require slipping into the system unseen. Or it may require stealth in the ground mission itself.

I hear you there my friend. A lot of people here (myself included) seem to show more interest in the next DLC pack than the actual sequel. :P

Sorry, Bioware. My expectation are so off the charts now that you can't possibly meet them. So I'll start with the hate now. You suck, Bioware.

BTW, anyone think we'll get a Geth LI?

I hope so.  I mentioned before that Legion should be romanceable.

I would also add:

'Ultimate Sacrifice' - either Shepard surrenders himself to batarians to allow Dr. Kenson to escape with Object Rho or another non-squadmate character is sacrificed.

Possible enemy factions: The Followers of the Exalted Light of the Word

I think it's plausible that he just never used the forums until he found the trophies on his PS3. It's also plausible that he's a plant. I just don't think we can say either way.

If he just never used them befor, why stop after the one post?  He was clearly intrested enough to register his game to get an account with access to ME2, so why stop at one thread of your own creation?

Because it was a marketing trick. If he were interested, he would have leaked it somewhere else like a PS3 forum or something. It was a very obvious trick. He even bothered to look up references. PS3 players NEVER do that.

Did you make the first re-cap or have you just been re-posting it?  Either way, it is a great service you are providing and I thank you for the time and effort you put into it!  :D

What if they planted this leak so that they could see what you all had to say about it. It could be BioWare's safe way of appeasing the crowd with seeing a basis for what the fans want out of the DLC.

Have a general direction you set up, and let the fans write the rest?

Good in theory (kinda), but it would take to long from leak to release.

@Omnicrat: Thank Thonpson family for the re-cap, Im just providing the service of spreding the good word.

@Spectre: Im the one who really let the idea be known and that thread got closed anyway (I may have been ninja'd, but i still came up with it). Plus, I posted the idea around 20 pages ago or so, so I think i said first anyway. Not sure, but Im still the one who bild it and created into something belivable.

The good news, is that even if Bioware keeps us in the dark about when the DLC comes out, we'll have at least one weeks notice thanks to the Cerberus Daily Network.

Uh, no. Not according to dates posted. Not that it really matters anyway. The point of my reply was to add additional speculation to your list regarding the outcome of the mission for those who just now discovered the DLC.
