She could still be the new Shadow Broker, just Shepard won't have helped her become the SB.  That can be accomplished without Shepard being involved.

I'm 100% certain Liara will be the new Shadow Broker in ME3 no matter and I'm about 99% sure she will have become the Shadow Broker w/ the aid of Shepard.  The reason is that it is scripted in the DLC.  Shep has no choice in the matter, unlike Wrex, VS, etc, etc.  So, to bring it back on topic, "Arrival" could have a big development that will affect ME3, but only if it is scripted and Shepard has no choice in the matter.  Getting captured/surrendering is one possibility, but very unlikely.  I still like the idea for the Cliffhanger effect.

... but one does not have to do the DLC.  Alot of big things happen in ME2 from not doing them  (Blood pack with a genophage cure and all the geth being turned into heretics to name the two biggest)

I think we'll just have to agree to disagree ont this one and move on.  :)

Here's hoping Anderson is involved. I'd like for it to in some way link in to the books, but if not I hope ME3 touches on Gillian or Kahlee etc. Would be good

Things are slowing down. Must keep thread running strong until the deluge of activity that is brought about from the announcement at GDC this week.

Wow... is this thread really dieing out?

I didn't think that would happen until... well, probably somewhere around the release. Maybe even ME3 if this thread got a title change.

Its sad to see such a big thread die...

...[whimper]...

Don't look at me!

SHEPARD ISN'T GOING TO BE SACRIFICED IN THE END OF DLC. TRY TO PROVE ME WRONG.

Has anybody brought up Emily Wong's report on the Batarian's new orbital WMD and the "ambassador" sent to the Batarian homeworld that might be a Spectre?

First I've heard of it.

Well, what do you mean by sacrificed?  Is he going to cannon die?  Most likely not*, as that would be stupid.  Are you going to get an option to sacrifice your life to save something else?  Probably not, as the only importable decision would be the one where you don't sacrifice your life, so again, stupid.  Some non lethal sacrifice?  Plausable, as it would give the player a chance to really help and give a nice self-sacrificing set-up for ME3 and it would give pragmagades a chance to be the big god'amed hero.

Depending on who you saved at the end of ME1, the Hegemony agrees to stop production of the Orbital Mirror System...

...I think.

No, the Council. I think saving the original Council persuades the Batarians to stop working on the Orbital Mirror (atleast they claim to)

An all human council leads to them basically saying "FU" to the council; they keep building it.

I saved the council and the last broadcast I heard had production continuing.  It had to do with a system near hegemony space having sudden climate change, the unofficial reason being the use of their mirror system.

I believe that "Arrival" is either referring to the arrival of the Reapers or the arrival of Commander Shepard to planet Earth.

I think that was the Geth weather changer thing in the Dirada system.

Oh... Well, then the last one was the Batarians refusing to take the mirrors down.  I'm on 360 if that means anything.

Even if the Council dies in ME1, it's still not all human in ME2.  Whether the Council lives or dies, the ME2 Council is still one each of human, asari, salarian, and turian.
