can be both, that depends on your alignment, so you're both right ^^

What do you mean, both?  It's never all-human, under any circumstances.  If the council lives then you keep the same council, but add a human.  If the council dies, then the other species get new council members, and you add a human.  Either way, there's always 1 human, 1 asari, 1 salarian, and 1 turian.

I'm not getting my hopes up for GDC, at least not for big headline announcements.

Recall that Kasumi was announced at last year's GDC; if nothing else, they should at least give us more details on Arrival.

Was GDC held at the same time last year?  I know Kasumi came out last April, so if this things comes out in April also, I can believe this too :)

So that automatically means they're gonna throw us a bone this time as well? And they should give us more details? It would be nice to hear something, but they don't owe us anything.

I think he meant should, as in, "it sounds reasonable likely that they would"... Am I right, Fiery?

E.g. "should be alright"

If you read Ascension the Migrant fleet sent ships to search for a dormant reaper maybe perhaps they found info on the LoD and the sacrifice has somethingto do with the migrant fleet hmmmmm

If we are to believe that future DLCs will be a tie-in to the ME3 state of things, or at least a hint of the events that lead to ME3, the sacrifice could be substantial. Or, at least, the missions we get to play from now on will bring important developments to the universe (as in The Shadow Broker). Either way, I can't wait for the Arrival's arrival ^^

Actually this will be the last dlc prior to ME 3.

Probably. That conclusion is based on an inference (albeit a pretty solid inference), Bioware hasn't explicitly stated that this is the last pre-ME3 DLC.

I know it's not likely, but does anybody think this should be released as part of the Cerberus Network? We have not had any DLC from there in a long time.

That's because EA's done with it.

I'm wondering if this is maybe going to tie into the comics, like with Lair of the Shadowbroker.  In which case, the sacrifice may in fact have something to do with Cerberus and TIM.  Maybe Bioware doesn't want to deal with Cerberus in ME3, and they want to tie up that whole storyline.

I mean, the dlc would appear to revolve around a fringe scientist searching for an ancient Prothean or Reaper artifact, which sounds an awful lot like what we're seeing in the comic.  So maybe the Illusive Man himself is the sacrifice.

I could see TIM making the ultimate sacrifice FOR humanity, definitely.... If he truly is a man who believes that the end justifies the means, and it really came down to it...

This better not be the last pre-ME3 DLC. I have played Mass Effect through 6 times, at xmas I bought Mass Effect and played that twice. I still cant get enough of it. I want at least one more DLC after Arrival, whether it is major like LotSB or minor like Kasumi or Zaeed. Even though "Arrival" probably means the Reapers, and probably playing Arrival there wont be any time in the game's universe to add another mission. Also, I hope they cover what the Illusive Man does after the Collector base is destroyed/kept.

As far as I can tell, its only even symbolically human lead.  I mean, how could it possibly be officially human lead.  For that matter, with everyone hating humans, how can it be symbolically human lead?

everyone hates obama and yet he still symbolically leads america

your argument is invalid, good sir:police:

1)  The office of the President is not supposed to lead America.  No one is.

2)  Obama has power as president and no power beyond that.  To have a human led council when everybody hates humans, our concilor would need to excersize powers beyond those that he is given.

That book doesn't address what he does in response to Shepard's decision though, because they had to keep it neutral to player action. So sure it tells some stuff that happened after the SM, but none of it is directly affected by Shepard's decision to save or destroy the base.

Everyone hates every President in the US.  More broadly, everyone hates every politician.  Case closed.

I liked Washington and Jefferson.  Could have made the system better, but hey, its better then anything anyone else implemented so far.

2)  That doesn't even make any sense.

I'm not convinced you actually know what the word "lead" means.  Here's a hint, it does not mean "have complete and unquestioned power in all things."

Um... no.  Never an all-human council.  Where the hell did this misconception come from???  I never even thought there might maybe be an all-human council untill I started posting here.

^^This. Really there's no point in their collective marketing departments (MS, PS3 and Bioware) to keep so tight a lid on this now. We all know its name and that its coming. They got to give us something at GDC.

Unless the illusive man gets replaced by zombie hitler, he's not really much of a sacrifice to alot of people.

But from his perspective it's still the ultimate sacrifice to give his own life for the cause. Doesn't matter how other people see it.

1)  No its not.  The president is intended to be a civilian leader of the armed forces in times of war, the guy who apoints the people in charge of the federal beurocracy, the guy who selects candidates for the Supream Court, and the guy who can veto legisaltion that they view as bad (supposed to be used sparingly).  There is not supposed to be a "leader" of the US.  Granted, it is probably the single office with the most power, but most of that power was added after the system was created.  Still, the president is not supposed to be the man "in charge" of the government or the country.

2)  Right... but why would non-humans follow humans if they had no autority to lead AND were greatly disliked to boot?

Ah.  I miss read it.  I recind my complaint.  I thought It said you sacrifice him, not he sacrifices himself.
