Nope not yet, I was under the impression that GDC is not really a reveal thing. Please tell me it isn't so!

Generally it's not, but Bioware revealed Mass Effect 2 at the 2009 GDC, and they revealed Kasumi's Stolen Memories at last year's GDC, so we're hopeful that they'll follow suit this year.

@Yakko:  You can continue playing the game after you beat the SB base, so you don't have to keep your Sheps hovering.  It's not like the ME1 DLC where you had to do it before beating the game.

Except I've completed every mission, explored every planet and researched every upgrade.

:)

Oh, by "hovering over the SB base" I thought you meant that you were waiting until the rest of the DLC came out before you actually attacked the base. I understand now what you meant.

If there is anything at all, it will probably be revealed today. Yesterday was an introduction and I don't imagine a whole lot happened. Today should be far interesting. Plus, it's a Tuesday; BioWare tends to appreciate those.

Oh! I  may have been unclear on that.  In ME1 I was hovering over Ilos with every side misson beat hoping in vain that the final DLC would be playable after the Battle of the Citadel but thankfully ME2 fixed that.

Everyone's playing drunken board games at the moment, so you'll have to wait 12-24 hours for an announcement (if there is an announcement). If you want, you can follow Christina Norman's Twitter feed @ truffle; she's (I think) a design lead on ME3. That's what I've been doing to stay up-to-date.

If there's anything coming up, I'm betting she'll hint at it with an update.

200,000 bored after the first day. Another 700,000 bored by the end of the first week. Every DLC theory discussed. All the fans growing impatient. Regrouping to look at other games being released this year.  Reports are coming in that news might be released at GDC, sometime. It's a well coordinated marketing hype campaign. And so far it's been damn effective.

*Makes Post*

Don't know what they're thinking,  what they're planning, or what they're doing.

Only one thing is certain... if Bioware doesn't release news soon there won't be a forum left to save.

400 different pariodies in the first day. Another 1000 created by the end of the first week. Every thread corrupted, all the Talimancers on the run... Regrouping, to figure out how to do a parody of their own. Reports are coming in from forums of other major games, it's a well coordonated spread newborn meme, and so far it's been damn effective in /win-ing threads.

Don't know what they want, where they came from, or when they're gonna stop being used. Only one thing is certain... If Bioware doesn't create a new ME meme, there won't be anything left to make a parody of...

A re-cap:

KNOWN: There will be a new achievements that are “Covert Action" - Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention. "Last Stand" - Survive 5 waves of enemies while protecting the "Object Rho". And finally, "The Ultimate Sacrifice" - Totally no info on this one has been found.

SOURCE: Data entries in the patch for the PS3 version of the game, published on this forum in the original post of this thread by Vamplosion.

KNOWN: Dr. Amada Kenson is scientist from the University of Arcturus who has published a paper declaring that most mass relays are far, far older than then Protheans, so much older that the same species couldn’t have built them.

SOURCE: Cerberus Daily News - last entry before going on hiatus (01.24.11).

KNOWN: There are data entries for a new star system in the Alternate Appearance Pack 2, at least in the PC version. The new system is: Viper Nebula, with the Bahak System in it. The Bahak system has five planets: Clogon, Aratoht, Yunaca, Urnola and Bastzuda. There is a goal marker for “Save Dr. Kenson,” but no indication of which planet. All planets are listed as under batarian surveillance and most are inhabited. SOURCE: Thanks to didymos1120 and charmingcharlie (plus any others I don’t know about.) for confirming this on this thread.

KNOWN: The Bahak System is the same system where there was a testy situation between the Earth Systems Alliance and the Batarian Hegemony. The system’s in the Skyllian Verge. SOURCE: Cerberus Daily News

(01.22.11 and 01.23.11.)

-A frigate from the batarian colony of Aratoht discovered an Alliance cruiser, the SSV Budapest, in the Bahak system. The Alliance claimed the Budapest chased pirates into batarian space-

Note: On Earth, there is a widely recognized rule of “hot pursuit” that allows a nation to pursue pirate into the
territorial waters of another country.

The Budapest eventually left Batarian space, averting a worse crisis. The Alliance refused to release the ship’s logbooks to support the pirate claim.

KNOWN: For every planet, EDI gives the same warning:

“The Batarian Hegemony considers any presence of Alliance military vessels in batarian space as hostile. The Normandy SR2, while an independent vessel, strongly resembles the Normandy SR1, an Alliance ship. Use of stealth systems is highly recommended.”

Each of the planet descriptions let's you know how intense its spy satellite surveillance is.

THEREFORE: Kenson is in batarian space and the Alliance can’t send in a rescue without risking a clash.

KNOWN: The Normandy is a Cerberus ship that’s fast and stealthy. Its chances of getting caught are lower than a normal vessel and the consequences of it being caught - as long as you’re not on it – aren’t as dire (diplomatically) as the capture and destruction of an alliance ship. It also has EDI, which betters its odds, and Joker.

SPECULATIVE: Note also the mission objectives: “Covert Action" - Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention.” That may only require slipping into the system unseen. Or it may require stealth in the ground mission itself.

LOL :D

*catches breath* I swear. I don't think Bioware ever imagined that their teaser would become meme GOLD! B)

I find it funny that both Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2 had massive leaks XD Bioware really needs to improve their security

The only way to stop broken street dates is to place a fully equipped guard in every single store.

Just being a realist here but, the way I see it. Seeing as how this was an "accidental" leak, it's going to remain just that until it's actual release date. Which means, they probably had it originally slotted for release sometime in between April - August. Yet, despite the "leak" it's still going to be at said release time. The only difference now is that instead of being "blissfully ignorant" of what the DLC is going to contain, we've gotten a "taste" of it so to speak ala Trophy/Achievement leaks and now we're just going to have to chew on speculation.

So in all honesty, dont expect it to be released anytime in March, or for that matter, any time in April or May either. Sure, we "might" get some news on it at some point before then. But expecting it to be released sooner now just because we actually know of it's existance, isnt very realistic.

Not saying I wouldnt be "pleasantly surprised" if I were wrong.  (which in truth, the small optimistic side of me is hoping I am lol.)

I thought last week some people of the bioware team already stated that we should pay attention in 'the next weeks' concerning the dlc? Can't think of a better time these weeks than the gdc.

I'd be surprised if anything was said before DA2 came out. It'll keep us all nicely shut up until they can finish it and by the time we're done clobbering dragons, we'll be ready for Arrival! :D
