Well they were called expansion packs, and they usually were a lot cheaper and offered more content then "DLC".

But we don't know when it is coming. Heck they could cancel the whole DLC, and we'd be none the wiser for it. Although that is unlikely, but this has happened with many games in the past.

But seriously, I understand what you're getting at. Obviously they will release an announcement when they are ready. However that does not change the fact that they have rather blantantly left us in the dark. "A few weeks" is very vague and has already lead to speculation that there would be an announcement at GDC. It could infact be months before they tell us anything. I don't appreciate being given vague timelines like that. I don't see why they couldn't have been a little more specific about when they will tell us more (since they obviously have this planned). It's not like the DLC is a secret anymore, so what's the deal exactly? Frankly I almost would have preferred they not said anything about it at all.

Hopefully they will tell us something at PAX, otherwise I'll feel more or less that I was lied to since it's already been a few weeks. And that certainly doesn't encourage me then to go get the DLC anytime soon.

Guess none of you bought Da2 and got the leaflet? Opened it up at 1am tuesday morning, and saw the exact Arrival leaflet that everyone else did on here. Just says The ARRIVAL HAS BEGUN. N7 at the top and earth looking like it has explosions everywhere. That is it.Alot of hype for a dlc prob 2 hours max

Well in Europe it's coming out tomorrow.

An announcement and a trailer at PAX.

A release on the 26th of April.

I wish I shared your optimism. From memory Lair of the Shadow Broker was announced in late July 2010 before being released in early September.  About 6 weeks. 
 
Worst case scenario, and simply to add another dark cloud, if the current run of comics is in any way linked to the story of Arrival, it's possible that we'll have to wait for the series to be completed, just like Redemption was (January - April 2010) - long before Lair of the Shadow Broker was officially announced in July 2010. 

I'll be extremely happy if it comes out in the near future, but something tells me I shouldn't get my hopes up.

Good point about the comics, hadn't thought of that. However, we did know prior to LotSB's release that the Redemption comic was going to tie into it, right? I'm not seeing how Evolution could possibly relate to Arrival unless it is foreshadowing something. Regardless, I guess I am overly optimistic. I like to think they have something planned for Shepard's birthday.

Got my copy of DA2 just now. There was a leeflet of ME with " The Arrival Has Begun" eu.masseffect.com, eath burning and N7 armor sign in the darkness of the sky. UK btw.
