These armors looks kinda like this one... Batarians were wearing them in ME2 (I mean this N7 mission exactly), so yeah, my vote goes for batarians.

I assumed they aren't batarians because their helmets only have two eyes, but it could be BioWare being lazy.

i was going to say that most batarians in me2 dont wear helmets except the one we get to stap with the electrified tuning fork in garrus's recruitment mission and his just had a viso no face plate

And no, these guys don't look like mercs to me.

We have yet to see a batarian serving a proper military unit. And yes, Batarians only need to use 2 of their eyes.

how do you know they are serving a military for all we know they are just mercs till we get confirmation thats all they are mercs
