I am in the uk right now on my phone and when I go on masseffect.com it just takes me to the normal mass effect site, not this werid hello world thing.

"Hello world" is a standard-protocol phrase used to demonstrate a programming language for first-time use. I'm not sure what it's doing there, but it's possible that it was left by accident or something.

The 'hello world' thing seems like a DNS error, especially since masseffect.bioware.com is still up and running.

"Hello World" is a phrase commonly used in introductory computer programming classes.  As their first project students will write a program that just prints "Hello world" to the screen, and nothing else.

Perhaps the "Arrival" isn't actually the Reapers, but is some AI, or perhaps the Geth coming out of the veil?  (I realize this is unlikely, I'm just speculating.)

My first thought was an error of some kind too, especially since "Hello world" is such a common test-phrase, but the fact that it's happening as they're teasing Arrival, and that "Hello" is a greeting commonly given upon arrival, seems like too much of a coincidence for it to not be somehow related.

Well, if that is true, it is 8:52am there, so I don't suspect anyting until after morning coffee...so around 11am-1pm their time.

The website shows up as Hello World to me as well.  If they are prepping it for an update, it will take time to propogate so I can see where some would still get the redirect.

If you type, "masseffect.com" you get the actual site.

If you type, "www.masseffect.com" you get the Hello World site.
