Can't say you were wrong there, Chewy.

It's possible that he's not "turning it off", but actually disabling it. I think it's probably that the ultimate sacrifice is disabling the Charon relay thus effectively trapping the Reapers in Sol system, with Shepard OUTSIDE Sol system. I also don't buy into the assumption that the Reapers return from dark space without the assistance of a mass relay, I think that one of their many plans has probably worked and they've managed to activate a relay connecting their location in dark space to the galaxy.Rivercurse wrote...
But the Reapers could still fly out of the Sol system at conventional FTL speeds without the use of the relays. It would take them longer to get somewhere yeah, but it's not destroying the relay would leave them trapped in orbit of Earth.StowyMcStowstow wrote...
The Reapers arrive and attack earth. The ultimate sacrifice is Shepard being forced to shut down the Arcturus Relay in order to prevent the Reapers from getting anywhere else, thus leaving the Sol system to the Reapers until Shepard return with the military.Quaay wrote...
Sooo losing access to that mass relay probably is the ultimate sacrifice like some guessed?
Aren't we pretty much assuming at this point that the reapers have entered the galaxy from dark space under their own steam (not using relays, using their own FTL drives), why wouldn't they just set a course for another system at that speed?
Edit - Not to mention t he fact that the Reapers designed and built the relay network. If some human can figure out a way to "turn it off", i'm pretty sure the Reapers can "turn it back on" again.
I think that was just referring to the Reapers' ability to lock other species out of the mass relays while still being able to use them themselves. The Prothean VI on Ilos said that the Reapers did that while they were destroying the Protheans. So the "dark switch" just makes it so the mass relay will only let Reapers through.DaBigDragon wrote...
Anyone remember that Cerberus Daily News story a while back that was edited? It said something about Mass Relays having "Dark Switches" that could change their function if anyone figured out how to change them.
Think this DLC may mention those?

For all we know, "Soon" in the BioWare dictionary means next month. But I hope I'm wrong.

True...<_<
Because if you include seconds it means Arrival is coming out in 3.5 days.Chewin3 wrote...
Why don't include seconds?
