...wonder if this will be a DLC where we take control of another character for a short time..or maybe play from two points of view..



E.g Shep goes in to recover Rho while someone else holds the line elsewhere....then once you've done that...you flick back to the other character and hold off the waves for Shep to do their thing..sacrifice yourself so Shep can get away with whatever Rho is (My money is on something that can interfere with indoctrination or the relays themselves)

 Idk if anyone else has already come up with this but this DLC really sounds like you're not gonna be playing as Shepard; you're going to be in another character's shoes, perhaps even the VS.  Maybe the VS or whoever you play as is sent to rescue the scientist and everything and you ultimately confront the first wave of the Reaper invasion, and the ultimate sacrifice is that character inevitably dying to preserve the scientist's safety and/or delay the advance of the Reapers.  

"Ultimate Sacrifice"  "Last Stand".....

Seems like the "survive all 5 waves" thing could be a final Halo Reach-mission thing (and similar to that Starcraft 2 Protoss mission), you survive as many waves as you can knowing you're going to die.  If you survive the 5 they built into the DLC, probably get swung into a cutscene where who you're playing as finally succumbs to the enemy.  

Some might be dissatisfied with not playing as Shepard, but just using the few context clues available, I think this has the potential to be epic.

That was my first association when I saw this achievment. That may be good chance to see Shepard from the outside. And even more, perhaps there will be difficult battle at last.

They certainly do... Myself, as a creator, when I see my friend and colleagues getting all hyped over the smallest **** regarding a new novella, blog post, song or w/e I get a huge grin on my face. 
It means people like what I do and want more of it Its the biggest reason for satisfaction for anyone.

BTW, people are suggesting that the Ultimate Sacrifice will be a team-mate/character or the Normandy. These aren't really "Ultimate Sacrifices" are they? I think the sacrifice will have a lot do with this Object Roh (it's roh, people, NOT RHO!).

The "Ultimate sacrifice" that someone can make usually refers to giving up your life. So I think someone is going to sacrifice himself/herself. It won't be Shepard, of course, as that would require another Lazarus for ME3 and that would be just plain idiotic. I doubt it'll be the VS, as I feel he/she still has a part to play in ME3. Joker...no, I don't think so. That would require the Normandy to be blown to bits, and that would be redundant. My guess is on this Amanda Kenson.

Hey what about Joker as the ultimate sacrifice I mean he has been with you every step of the way since ME1. Maybe he will dive into the fray with Normandy against the arrival of the Reapers whist the Normandy team is off securing this Object Rho.

My theory: Stealth mission to extract Dr Kenson from Acturus Station after receiving tip off from Ashley/Aiden and acquire Object Rho via planet mission. Then destroy Sol Relay to delay reaper arrival, breaks alliance off from earth (ultimate sacrifice): millions die while reapers plunder their way towards earth. Giving Sheppard time to build Galactic Armada and use dark energy object Rho to create black hole and transport Earth saving galactic armada. (Obviously that last bit happens in ME3)
