Sometime planets have people, so someone still can die.

It could be the sacrifice of a colony.

True, but with a name like "ultimate sacrifice", I feel like the death count has to be incredibly substantial. Staggering.

A planet seems to fit that bill nicely.

If it wasn't for the ME3 trailer, I'd go with earth... it's a pretty ultimate sacrifice for a human to make.

I hate to say it, but I think bioware is going to kill off whoever you saved. Makes it easier for the third game, as in who has to be in the game.

So say your last goodbye's because Ash/Kado will not live to see the end of the Reapers.

What about the guys who don't buy the DLC? Ash/Kaidan would have to be shrugged off "Oh they died where..." and I can't imagine them doing that. It's not Liara who can be said had eventually killed the Shadow Broker. Talking away the death of a major character doesn't seem right. And who says "sacrifice" means death? I know Ultimate Sacrifice typically means death but it could also mean captured by Reapers. I'm willing to bet if Ash/Kaidan are in this DLC, they won't be the ones doing the ultimate sacrifice. AND for that matter, who says they'll be in this at all? We know for sure SOMEONE will be making an ultimate sacrifice (ultimate sacrifice means different things to different people) since that's the achievement for completing it.

But what can cost more than entire colony? Object Rho? Shepard? Anything else?
I'm already excited.

If it's a planet, I'll bet anything it's Earth (a Delay the Reapers plan maybe? Make them spend time doing bad things on the human homeworld while everyone else prepares sort of thing). If it's not a planet... I have no idea.

The ultimate sacrifice will not be an important character from a previous game (like a squad mate) as it would be pretty weak to kill them off canonically in an optional DLC. The events of this DLC will be canon for ME3 as it's story-bridging, similar to LotSB.

It will probably be a new character introduced in the DLC. Similar to how Tela was killed off in the Shadow Broker DLC.

Though, I still want to sacrifice TIM's ass, but I know that won't be an option.

sigh, it seems that my suspicions about Ash/Kai having their reunion left for the main game are correct. unless we get a cameo? still, my curiosity is peaked.

See, I actually believe this DLC will be like Overlord, and have NO bearing on Ash/Kaidan/Wrex.

How can Bioware possibly write in a rekindling friendship/romance plotline with the BIGGEST FREAKIN PLOT POINT IN THE TRILOGY SO FAR: THE REAPERS HAVE ARRIVED!!!!

It would just seem inappropriate, and it'd cut into its impact.

I don't know...I mean the doctor is a human, Ash/Kaidan are officers in the human military, they've worked with Shep before...it makes sense that they might act as a liason between the Alliance and Shepard if the Alliance if the latter reaches out to the former for assistance.  *crosses fingers*

It would just seem inappropriate, and it'd cut into its imp- oh wait.

I see no reason BioWare shouldn't be able to do this. They handled it just fine with LotSB. But opinions can differ, right?

Which means that Object Rho is a numbered scientific artifact.

What if it's that object in the Evolution comics?
