my "plot math" may be weak here folks, but Ultimate sacrifice is so much greater in this game's scale.



Remember that ME3 trailer? remember how you saw shepard turn AWAY from the window?



Shepard isn't bringing reinforcements... he is leaving earth to it's fate. He is sacrificing earth itself to buy time for the rest of the galaxy.



Don't buy it? Look behind a lot of the actions you take (assuming you play mr. goody two shoes like me). You spend a LOT of time strengthening a LOT of races with a heck of a lot of power.



The Rachni are breeding an army to fight the reapers



The Geth now have the resources of their full race, now that they have been re-written, and may just be on the path to ending their long standing war with their creators



The Krogan are now united under one, extremely powerful clan



The Citidel fleets are now equipped with far better technology (like the Thanix cannon, multicore shields and more)



most of the major crime syndicates have been toppled over



however... it's just like how the prothiens said.. it takes time to wipe out a species... In the trailer, 7 million died in the first week... there are 11 BILLION people on earth.

It's going to take time before earth is scrubbed out. Enough time to gather a united fleet to trap the Reapers in a gravity well where they cannot escape.



That is the ultimate sacrifice.

Check this out from my sum-up several pages back:

SPECULATIVE: Note also the mission objectives: “Covert Action – Rescue
Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention.” That may only
require slipping into the system unseen. Or it may require stealth in
the ground mission itself. Kasumi and Thane could come in very handy
here – or even Shepard, if s/he’s an infiltrator.

Sorry, but the "Covert Action" in the mission title looks like an awfully heavy hint. We could both be wrong, though. It could just be the Normandy that's stealthy.

That seems appropiate. But a choice that effects ME3 in a DLC? I should be mandatory and cannot be. But maybe it's just hints. Take Fallout New Vegas's Dead Money DLC. It has an easter egg called "things to come" which is basically 5 triggers activated from certain dialog with you're team in that DLC. Maybe this DLC hints to that.

You bring up an interesting point, but I think the numbers presented in the trailer should be taken with a grain of salt. For all we know Big Ben could have just been referring to England.

That plot sucks. What is a Reaper doing in Batarian space which is being watched by an Alliance fleet? I apologize, but even that sacrifice is bad.

To spare people from a search, here's a bare-bones version of facts many people put on this thread. If you want the sources and citations, you'll have to go back several pages.

“Covert Action – Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention.”
The DLC will add the Viper Nebula, with the Bahak System in it. The Bahak system has five planets: Clogon, Aratoht, Yunaca, Urnola and Bastzuda. There is a goal marker for “Save Dr. Kenson,” but no indication of which planet. The system’s in the Skyllian Verge.

Dr. Amada Kenson is scientist from the University of Arcturus who has solid evidence that mass relays are far, far older than the Protheans

The Bahak System is the same system where Cerberus News, just before the hiatus, reportered a testy situation between the Alliance and the Batarian Hegemony. The batarians found an Alliance cruiser, the SSV Budapest, there. The Alliance claimed the Budapest had chased pirates into batarian space. The Budapest left Batarian space to avert a worse crisis. The Alliance refused to release the ship’s logbooks to support the pirate claim.

THEREFORE: Kenson is in batarian space and the Alliance can’t send in a rescue without risking a clash.

The Normandy is Cerberus ship, not Alliance. It’s fast and stealthy. It has EDI and Joker. If any ship and any crew can get in, rescue Kenson and get out, it’s the Normandy.

Do you guys think that BW expected this to catch on so fast and people already know the plot? I think they intended us to get info "accidentally" but we are just too smart for our own good. A few achievements and we can go write in the wiki already.

Yes Vamplosion gets the top honors, he made my week. Now I hope Bioware will keep the hype going and throw us a bone. Atleast tell us what its about..I hate speculating. For now I will keep playing Me2 and enjoying the Da2 demo haha.

Obviously it's the arrival of the Reapers from Dark Space, what the hell else could it be? They have to fly here without a Mass Relay. This DLC will be about them making landfall in this galaxy.

Yeah "Accidentally" is right. You're telling me that a corporation the size of BioWare forgets that the patch they release adds three new trophies to the trophy list. This is definately a planned leak.

Well that would be a great way to ruin the beginning of Mass Effect 3 now wouldnt it? I don't think Bioware is going to do something like that. I think the Dr. Kenson/searching Batarian controlled planets seems more likely. It will probably have a cliffhanger of an ending that bridges to ME3, expect to do missions and stuff that LEADS to the reapers arrival not just here ya go fight some reapers on Earth, and do the same in ME3.
