I kinda figured that the new DLC would feature The Illusive Man and Cerberus because of the new Comic kinda like Redemption led to Lair of the Shadow Broker. I figure that it will be about Choosing who our Shepard is loyal to either The Alliance or Cerberus.

Unlikely, though Kaiden/Ashley could be there, but not as a main point. I doubt its about loyalties, though its still a possibility.

Ultimate Sacrifice could be: kill Paul Grayson and his Reaper mind.

Except Thane can die on the suicide mission, so he may already be long dead by the time you do this DLC. Same goes for every other squadmate. Point being, they can't restrict it to someone who may not even be there to begin with.Thompson family wrote...

My completely speculative candidate for the job is Thane. He's emotionally, spiritually and practically prepared for this. He has things he still believes he needs to atone for.
(...)
And I seriously doubt it's the VS, for obvious reasons. My best guess is an in-DLC character.

That's crap if they do that freedom of speech dammit!
Well, maybe not, but that thread had a lot of effort put into it, and just locking it down because its also being discussed in here isnt cool.

With that being said, I adore those DLCs with a plot (and Achievements, of course) and I'm stoked to be seeing the Cerberus Daily News finally tying directly into the plot. So much integration between story and gameplay. No wonder I love Mass Effect.

I think it might be yourself, as Shepard, that would be sacrificed. From here, it seems possible you may end up having to surrender yourself to batarians while Dr. Kenson escapes with Object Rho. Assuming such speculation is true.

Speaking of which:
The Batarians are tailored for the role of bad guys in this game. My guess is that they've been misled into believing that the Reapers will let them live if they cooperate in "Arrival."
As I've speculated before, "Arrival" sure does strongly seem to imply the arrival of the Reapers. It's a simple word and the whole focus to the game up to this point is the approach -- and ultimately the arrival -- of the Reapers. I think we'll find out how the Reapers will get to our galaxy in the DLC but the attack on Earth will certainly be saved for ME3.
================
Now, in the "Really a reach" category, bordering on a conspiracy theory level of logical inference:
"The Arrival" is a 1996 sci-fi movie that flopped at the box office. I've never seen it, but some members of this forum have at least heard of it. I found out about it reading this very thread.
The movie concerned a scientist who discovers a signal from intelligent life outside of the solar system. Then he discovers signals on Earth going back -- two-way communication. Eventually, he discovers that members of the alien species have already arrived and are working to make the planet habitable for their kind-- and kill the existing occupants.
I admit this is a fanciful notion, that the title of the DLC is a tribute reference to a sci-fi movie that didn't make its budget back after premiering almost 15 years ago, but thought it should be mentioned. I can't find any other "coincidences." For instance, there was apparently no cast member or character named Kenson in the movie.

The other, locked-down thread had a lot tighter focus and a lot less pages to read through. No matter. The info in it is largely here or will soon be added.

Followers of the Word perhaps? They seem to be the only batarian group that make mention of the Reapers and speak of some kind of salvation in relation to them.

That's a real creepy thought.
I want so badly to like Batarians but they won't let me.

I'd forgottent about that. You hear them over the PA system in the market area of Omega -- when the "Mad Prophet" isn't drowing them out.

Exactly. They are made out to becompletely unsympathetic. Even the vorcha can be tolerated a bit because they're just dumb.

Captain Gavorn helps me tolerate Vorcha too.
Anyways, wow. Now I want your well thought out theories to be true because it sounds intriguing.
Speaking of fantastic baddies, where did the speculation about the Yahg being somehow involved in the DLC originate? Or am I hallucinating?
