At this point, I'm almost convinced that the Ultimate Sacrifice is most likely Shepard surrendering to the batarians in order to allow Amanda and whatever she was trying to get escape (i.e. Object Rho). Shepard then ends up in batarians prison, where she's tortured, interrogated, etc., setting up the stage for an ME3 opening.

Does that make sense? Because it does to me.

I would love that ending, but the pessimist in me won't be holding my breath.

A re-cap for new comers:

KNOWN: There will be a new achievements that are “Covert Action"  - Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention. "Last Stand" - Survive 5 waves of enemies while protecting the "Object Rho". And finally, "The Ultimate Sacrifice" - Totally no info on this one has been found.

SOURCE: Data entries in the patch for the PS3 version of the game, published on this forum in the original post of this thread by Vamplosion.

KNOWN: Dr. Amada Kenson is scientist from the University of Arcturus who has published a paper declaring that most mass relays are far, far older than then Protheans, so much older that the same species couldn’t have built them. SOURCE: Cerberus Daily News - last entry before going on hiatus. (01.24.11)

KNOWN: There are data entries for a new star system in the Alternate Appearance Pack 2, at least in the PC version. The new system is: Viper Nebula, with the Bahak System in it. The Bahak system has five planets: Clogon, Aratoht, Yunaca, Urnola and Bastzuda. There is a goal marker for “Save Dr. Kenson,” but no indication of which planet. All planets are listed as under batarian surveillance and most are inhabited. SOURCE: Thanks to didymos1120 and charmingcharlie (plus any others I don’t know about.) for confirming this on this thread.

KNOWN: The Bahak System is the same system where there was a testy situation between the Earth Systems Alliance and the Batarian Hegemony. The system’s in the Skyllian Verge. SOURCE: Cerberus Daily News

(01.22.11 and 01.23.11.)

-A frigate from the batarian colony of Aratoht discovered an Alliance cruiser, the SSV Budapest, in the Bahak system. The Alliance claimed the Budapest chased pirates into batarian space-

Note: On Earth, there is a widely recognized rule of “hot pursuit” that allows a nation to pursue pirate into the
territorial waters of another country.

The Budapest eventually left Batarian space, averting a worse crisis. The Alliance refused to release the ship’s logbooks to support the pirate claim.

KNOWN: For every planet, EDI gives the same warning:

“The Batarian Hegemony considers any presence of Alliance military vessels in batarian space as hostile. The Normandy SR2, while an independent vessel, strongly resembles the Normandy SR1, an Alliance ship. Use of stealth systems is highly recommended.”

Each of the planet descriptions let you know how intense its spy satellite surveillance is.

THEREFORE: Kenson is in batarian space and the Alliance can’t send in a rescue without risking a clash.

KNOWN: The Normandy is a Cerberus ship that’s fast and stealthy. Its chances of getting caught are lower than a normal vessel and the consequences of it being caught - as long as you’re not on it – aren’t as dire (diplomatically) as the capture and destruction of an alliance ship. It also has EDI, which betters its odds, and Joker.

SPECULATIVE: Note also the mission objectives: “Covert Action" - Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention.” That may only require slipping into the system unseen. Or it may require stealth in the ground mission itself.

Okay since this involves batarians. Is anyone else thinking Balak. Also this could and I stress could set the stage for a batarian squaddie in ME3 just wishful thinking so please don't berate me.

Indeed, if Balak was spared in Bring Down the Sky he could show up in it, and if he wasn't, then some other Batarian could be taking his place :)

Actually, starting ME3 with Wrex and Shepard's love interest busting him out of a batarian prison colony would be pretty ace. As long as you get to trash talk your guard.

I had a dream about there being a Reminisce with Ashley/Kaidan achievement in Arrival last night. No joke.

This is what I get for going on a DAO binge. Shepard captured by Batarians as Earth burns? Sounds good. Ashley/Kaidan, Leviathan of Dis, and space combat all in one thread? Sh*t got epic.

Not sure how my Vanguard feels about this.

There was a stealth option in ME1 that boiled down to taking an alternate route..

You mean the one that I violently murder around 10 ERCS mercenaries?

I know this is off-topic in an alread massive thread I'm only onabout page 20 of, but where is that alternate route???

on vermire after you cross the bridge you can go down to the left and you end up in the sewer basically. took me a few play throughs to even notice it. everything plays out the same basically but it was pretty cool to find it

... Phaedon made it sound like it was on Noveria in the Sinthetic Insites building.  At least thats how it sounded to me...  Excitement gone.:(

I'm sure its been hashed out by now that this was a planted thread, right? I mean, Vamplosion only every created this thread and posted in this thread. Granted, epic thread, but I would still assume some other postings from a real member.

The leak wasn't even an "accident" to begin with.

Well, if this thread was a plant, obviously not.  Otherwise, is there some outside proof you're using or just the obviousness of this thread being a plant?

No, thay just have a very good marketing department. But if this DLC turns out to be a hoax Im gonna go into the worst troll rampage these forums have ever seen. Heck, I'll even invade the DA forums. I'll go crazy!

Seriously, I will do that....

Yes, a very good, and supremely annoying marketing department.  Still, I believe this leak was accidental, but they just wanted to make sure people knew it was real.

All of these batarian prison theories are very interesting, but I doubt that.  I think you'll be finishing ME2 on the normandy with the squad, both of which you'll be taking into ME3, I may be wrong, but there it is.

One other thing to consider.  Did bioware not say that the cerberus network daily updates will stop, then will start for a week for dlc, then 2 weeks before the release of ME3?  Now, having not been on ME2 myself that recently, I don't know if the cerberus network updates are running, but whether they are or not I think is a fairly good guide as to whether this is the last dlc or not, because if it's still running when this dlc comes out, chances are there's another one, if it's stopped, well, see if it's on for a week before this dlc is released, if it is, I hate to say it, but this may be the last one, I hope not though.  Even if that's the case, there could still be another one.  Anyway, My guess would be that there's this one, then another.  If this one is coming out soon, surely they can do another dlc in the span of most of a year.

BioWare's explanation that 'someone screwed up. Whoops'.

These are professionals who have released numerous DLC packs of this size before with no leaks. Other than Shadow Broker which had assets in the vanilla game left over.

either it's incompetence or a plant. the latter has faith in BioWare.

The leak wasn't even an "accident" to begin with.

So, if Shep is captured by Batarians then it could be setting up a Batarian crewmember in ME3 by having one helping Shepard in the prison and helping her/him flee from it.

That would probably be the only way to to have absolutely everyone accept a batarian squaddie, if Shep owed that guy his/her life.

Could it be that I can finally get my revenge on Balak?

I mean if you played Bring Down the Sky and let him live he could make a short cameo appereance and you finally get the chance to kill him? Was keeping an eye for him throughout ME2 but alas never found him.

Hmm, yes, having a batarian who's betrayed the other batarians to break us out of a BATARIAN prison on our side may help to convince the other batarians to join us, yes, sure, I can really see that happening.  As if.

The words 'nice' and 'batarian'  can't be in the same sentence. Except when 'nice' is accompanied by 'not'.
