Probably won't be any new news at the very least until GDC starts on Monday, and they might even wait until after the release of Dragon Age 2.
I hope they don't wait until after Dragon Age 2.

I could see them doing that. Just because the background options didn't have much to do with gameplay in ME1 and 2 doesn't mean they can't do something with them in ME3.shep82 wrote...
I can't see them doing that. Those background options have very little to do with the gameplay. But I could possibly see them introducing Shepards Mom but I doubt it.Bolshevik kityy wrote...
This. One thing I really want in Mass Effect 3 is more conversation options based on your psch profiles and specific class interupts. I doubt will see them in the demo however.JamieCOTC wrote...
I hope BW has learned their lesson (Akuze) and background/psych aren't completely ignored in this DLC or ME3. Out of nine combinations of background/psych profiles only two, Earthborn/Sole Survivor and Spacer/Sole Survivor, have nothing to do w/ Batarians.

I'm sure its been hashed out by now that this was a planted thread, right? I mean, Vamplosion only every created this thread and posted in this thread. Granted, epic thread, but I would still assume some other postings from a real member.
The leak wasn't even an "accident" to begin with.
Well, if this thread was a plant, obviously not. Otherwise, is there some outside proof you're using or just the obviousness of this thread being a plant?
These
are professionals who have released numerous DLC packs of this size
before with no leaks. Other than Shadow Broker which had assets in the
vanilla game left over.
either it's incompetence or a plant. the latter has faith in BioWare.

Does anyone know what the patch did other than add these trophies? Just out of curiosity.

I'm not sure I *believe* that it was accidental, but I find it plausible. Similar things have happened with other devs before.
I don't think we have the information to come to a conclusion on whether it was accidental or not.

If the leak were accidental, why have a plant? How have a plant?

Plant. oh look, we *can* say either way. He was an obvious plant. If it had been an accidental reveal, then the mods would have been here either denying or have closed the thread completaly so it doesn't look the light of day.

The logic here works both ways, Omnicrat.
The leak was to everyone who received the PS3 patch -- several thousand gamers, at least.
Somebody was going to notice it.
If nobody noticed it and BioWare/EA had to recruit a plant to point it out -- well, that would be a rather sad commentary on the PS3 fanbase, wouldn't it?
I don't think that happened. In the end, though, it doesn't matter much. Even if it is a deliberate plant, the info's still good. In fact, it's better. It means is part of a marketing campaign for something -- not some failed project that wound up on the cutting room floor.

Well sure, you can *say* it. But stating it as fact doesn't make it any less speculative.Pwener2313 wrote...

Even if the reveal was accidental doesn't mean that Bioware would necessarily try to cover it up. Lots of times stuff leaks and companies do exactly what Bioware did this time: say "yeah it's real, but we won't elaborate".Pwener2313 wrote...

I really don't understand why people think this was a deliberate leak by Bioware. To me it looks like a ****up and it isn't the first time that info on DLC has been leaked by patches accidentally. The most famous one was the GTA 4 DLC for the PC. For those that don't know the GTA 4 DLC was "exclusive" to the Xbox 360. The PC version was patched extensively and on the final patch they inadvertently added the achievements for the DLC to the PC version.
When these achievements were discovered in the PC version, Rockstar were struck dumb and refused to answer any queries regarding the DLC achievements in the PC version. Naturally the DLC appeared on both the PC and PS3 about 3 - 4 months later if memory serves.
I genuinely believe this was a mistake by Bioware, we were not meant to know about these achievements yet and a "glitch" in the system enabled them. However at least Bioware were good enough to hold their hands up and say "it's a fair cop you got us" unlike Rockstar that spent months snowballing, ignoring and aggravating their customer base.

This
leak was probably intentional, and they are probably looking/reading
this thread and smiling at how everyone is so excited.
No and Yes
More info as soon as I get a green light from PR and Marketing I promise! (it's a holiday here today)

Naw, when we added the trophies to the patch we just assumed that they would be invisible. Lesson learned

20 bucks says there will be a humorous intel report in Liara's new office after Arrival is released, based on this whole "was it intentional or not?" thing.
(Think about the whole sex scene rebuttal thing in Bring Down The Sky for ME1)
