It's not like it really matters speculations only go so far, suggesting it's a plant is kinda silly if they wanted too plant it why would they be so quick too remove it? Just wait they'll annouce it in due time.

A re-cap for new comers:

KNOWN: There will be a new achievements that are “Covert Action"  - Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention. "Last Stand" - Survive 5 waves of enemies while protecting the "Object Rho". And finally, "The Ultimate Sacrifice" - Totally no info on this one has been found.

SOURCE: Data entries in the patch for the PS3 version of the game, published on this forum in the original post of this thread by Vamplosion.

KNOWN: Dr. Amada Kenson is scientist from the University of Arcturus who has published a paper declaring that most mass relays are far, far older than then Protheans, so much older that the same species couldn’t have built them.

SOURCE: Cerberus Daily News - last entry before going on hiatus (01.24.11).

KNOWN: There are data entries for a new star system in the Alternate Appearance Pack 2, at least in the PC version. The new system is: Viper Nebula, with the Bahak System in it. The Bahak system has five planets: Clogon, Aratoht, Yunaca, Urnola and Bastzuda. There is a goal marker for “Save Dr. Kenson,” but no indication of which planet. All planets are listed as under batarian surveillance and most are inhabited. SOURCE: Thanks to didymos1120 and charmingcharlie (plus any others I don’t know about.) for confirming this on this thread.

KNOWN: The Bahak System is the same system where there was a testy situation between the Earth Systems Alliance and the Batarian Hegemony. The system’s in the Skyllian Verge. SOURCE: Cerberus Daily News

(01.22.11 and 01.23.11.)

-A frigate from the batarian colony of Aratoht discovered an Alliance cruiser, the SSV Budapest, in the Bahak system. The Alliance claimed the Budapest chased pirates into batarian space-

Note: On Earth, there is a widely recognized rule of “hot pursuit” that allows a nation to pursue pirate into the
territorial waters of another country.

The Budapest eventually left Batarian space, averting a worse crisis. The Alliance refused to release the ship’s logbooks to support the pirate claim.

KNOWN: For every planet, EDI gives the same warning:

“The Batarian Hegemony considers any presence of Alliance military vessels in batarian space as hostile. The Normandy SR2, while an independent vessel, strongly resembles the Normandy SR1, an Alliance ship. Use of stealth systems is highly recommended.”

Each of the planet descriptions let you know how intense its spy satellite surveillance is.

THEREFORE: Kenson is in batarian space and the Alliance can’t send in a rescue without risking a clash.

KNOWN: The Normandy is a Cerberus ship that’s fast and stealthy. Its chances of getting caught are lower than a normal vessel and the consequences of it being caught - as long as you’re not on it – aren’t as dire (diplomatically) as the capture and destruction of an alliance ship. It also has EDI, which betters its odds, and Joker.

SPECULATIVE
: Note also the mission objectives: “Covert Action" - Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention.” That may only require slipping into the system unseen. Or it may require stealth in the ground mission itself.

If the leak were accidental, why have a plant?  How have a plant?

The logic here works both ways, Omnicrat.

The leak was to everyone who received the PS3 patch -- several thousand gamers, at least.

Somebody was going to notice it.

If nobody noticed it and BioWare/EA had to recruit a plant to point it out -- well, that would be a rather sad commentary on the PS3 fanbase, wouldn't it?

I don't think that happened. In the end, though, it doesn't matter much. Even if it is a deliberate plant, the info's still good. In fact, it's better. It means is part of a marketing campaign for something -- not some failed project that wound up on the cutting room floor.

20 bucks says there will be a humorous intel report in Liara's new office after Arrival is released, based on this whole "was it intentional or not?" thing.

(Think about the whole sex scene rebuttal thing in Bring Down The Sky for ME1)

I k now the other stuff you said was important, but what sex scene rebuttal?

There's a log thingy in BDtS that talks about the news coverage of the whole sex scene crap in the original ME.

^^ I didn't know about that either. I just read about it on the BDtS wiki and it said it occurs on PC version only so I guess that's why I never knew about it being a lowly 360 owner.

BDtS is short for "Bring down the sky" it was the first DLC for Mass Effect 1.  As for those asking about the brin down the sky log entry, here is more info about it :-

Mass Effect Wiki .................... A small shack on a hill (near the fusion torch in the center of the map) is home to X57 Radio, a small pirate radio station run by the X57 engineers. The computers mention a disagreement with the project director who wanted to shut the station down, because the music caused young engineers to "riot and sleep with aliens". When the director was asked if he'd actually heard the music, he said that he'd heard about it from someone else who'd heard something about what the station played. (PC version only; in the Xbox360 version, the console only displays the
station's slogans.)

Oh, it stands for that, Ok then. But why are you guys talking about the first DLC ever instead of the new one?

Ummm because it introduced the Batarians and the new DLC is all about Batarians and just maybe it will expand on Balak or whomever he worked for in BDtS? ;)

Because there is sooooo much to say about the new one that's not pure speculation...
BioWare is killing me with all this waiting!

Because some people asked what the reference was to the "sex scandal", the reference was not in the box 360 version of the DLC it was added to the PC version of the DLC.

Plus with the speculation surrounding this leak and the fact it may feature Batarians it is only natural that BDtS crops up now and again because that DLC also featured Batarians.

A screenshot was leaked on another thread. You'll have to choose between saving a crew member or saving Arcturus station.

I remember commenting on that CDN article that I'd like to buy the good doctor a drink. Looks like my Shepard(s) will finally get the chance.

*cheers*

Yeah, the Tali or Arcturus one. Nice little spoof that was, chuckeled me up. The thing is..... the shot was taken in Liara's Illium office. Plus Tali or Arcturus? Really?

Saving a station with thousands or saving one of your crew.  What value is there in saving one vs. a station with thousands?

If that's true, I don't care if it's my LI, I'm saving the station.  It just sems the practical and moral thing to do.

Surely that can't be the choice?

I  haven't seen the photo in question.

It certainly didn't seem to make sense.

I hate to say it, but I think bioware is going to kill off whoever you saved. Makes it easier for the third game, as in who has to be in the game.

So say your last goodbye's because Ash/Kado will not live to see the end of the Reapers.

Bioware said that those who stayed faithful to their relationship with Kaidan/Ash will be rewarded.  I highly doubt that death would be a reward for remaining faithful to Kaidan/Ash.

True, but to be fair, we've seen (technically) Tali, but never Arcturus.

It could be/look like a glorified space gas station for all we know =]

I think the new comic has a picture of it. It says it on the summary in the ME wiki. But I haven't seen it.

From Mass Effect Wiki,

Arcturus Station is a 5-kilometer diameter Stanford Torus-type space station...

In short, it's a giant donut.

I don't know if anyone has realized this but the last issue of the comic Mass Effect: Evolution will be released in April, and coincidentally there is the rumor that the DLC will be released on April 11th to coincide with Shepard's birthday. I'm seeing a connection here. :P

What if they planted this leak so that they could see what you all had to say about it. It could be BioWare's safe way of appeasing the crowd with seeing a basis for what the fans want out of the DLC.
