Is there any reason to keep the emeralds, topazes, etc. categorized as Other?  They don't show in the Crafting tab so I'm not sure what else they could be used for.  Also, are there any consequences to selling the family items I picked up early on?  Thanks.

Without spoiling anything, some of the gems, but not all, do have a purpose after a certain point in the game. I know malachites and topazes do, there might be others.

Sell the family items if you want, but you may want to hold on to some of the gems (you'll find out why later in the game).

It's not critical to keep the gems, but some of them have a use later on.

The gems arent vital to the story or any actual quest though, theyre pretty much just a way to get bonus experience. Theres not even dialogue for it or anything.

Sapphires, topazes, malachites and amethysts are all useful for increasing your experience points later on.



Garnets can also be used as part of a quest.



Every other gem appears to be vendor trash.

lol, and here I've been collecting Diamonds, sure that out of all the gems, they'd be the most useful.

where do you turn in the gems? i haven't seen anything like that so far.
