Considering the weapons don't even have an impact on the creature, and never even hit the creatures, just flail wildly... no, I don't think it'll ever get fixed unless someone mods it.

You know, this is something a lot of people want fixed, but I just fail to be bothered by it. Floating weapons do not affect me in any way. I don't care. I guess I'm just weird.

I'm hopeful that by DA3, we'll start seeing daggers and swords going to the sides instead of the back. It's a minor annoyance of mine.

This will be explained in lore, a codex entry reveals that every weapon in Thedas has a gravitational field that makes them float away from the backs of people

Perspective plays. Most of the game is played from the back and/or with the weaponry unsheated, so the floating isn't appreciated. Only when the side view comes up it is relevant, which is considerably less than either the back or the front.

You'd be surprised with how many games have floating weapons.

I don't care if they're on the back or on the sides but two handed weapons must be on the back, I want scabbards...

I would be nice if this is changed, but it's the least of my concerns for DA2 or any future DA title

No no, even when the problem pops up in side views, my brain just registers it as "Oh look, floating weapons. Meh." I dunno.

I blame the enchantment. The weapon thing never bothered me that much but I still hope they add sheaths or something in the next game.

It does bother me a bit, this.

Also I don't really get how the weapons are supposed to stay there. I mean they just magically stick to your back or what?

They should take a leaf out of Red Dead Redemptions book and give you a holster.

I honestly don't care if the weapons float or not. I can use my imagination and assume that they are strapped to the back in some way.

This is one of the aspects that TW2 seems to have an advantage over DA2. Floating weapons just look silly IMO, though I wouldn't say that they don't ruin the game or anything.

FOR DA3, BIOWARE PLEASE HAVE SHEATHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also i would like to see daggers and swords on the waist and only two handed swords on the back where two handed swords should be. Single handed swords and daggers should be on the waist!!

It is much more difficult for Dragon Age because you have party members that you can customize. Models shapes change, weapons models change and the two can also not mix perfectly togheter (more on some types of perspective). For example when you have a model weapon specific to a model shape (as in the case of Varric and the crossbow) this doesn't happen, or it happens much much less.

It is much easier when you have a single hero and/or NPCs with specific weapons' models. Naturally everything can be done but it's always it's a question if it's a thing that it's so important to fix. For me? Not so much.
