Sorry if this has been elsewhere answered but I dont have time to read through hundreds of pages of text.

I had DA:O U installed on my computer but my hard drive corrupted. I have re-installed it now but when I click on "other campains" There is only GOA, Lel's song and Darkspawn chronicles to choose from.

Yes i am logged in with my Bioware account

No i am not using any mods

I am currently  redownloading all of the dlc's from the dlc screen on the game mainpage, but if i want awakening will have have to re-re-re-install Ultimate?

Thanks in advance for any help

EDIT: Just realised none of the dlc's downloaded when I installed so i downloaded them from the Bioware website and ran/installed them all around an hour ago

EDIT2: Just tried to run the Witch Hunt dowload again, but apparently i dont have patch 1.04 installed :S so that solves the lack of Witch Hunt. Stone Prisoner and Wardens Keep are also on.

So that leaves me with 2 questions: Where can i get 1.04

Why is Awakening not on/installed?

Again thanks :P

Wow. You need to like, you know, stop doing stuff and read this forum. For example, if you have Ultimate Edition, you do not need to download the DLC or patch 1.04... they're already installed.

Everything you're describing has been explored before on this site. You don't have time to research the issue but you do have time to keep installing and downloading stuff, making a bad situation totally f'ed up?

I'll throw you a couple of bones. I recently installed DA:O Ultimate successfully... here's the link:

Also, Information on how to fix the (many and deserved) problems that arise when you don't uninstall Origins and install Ultimate Edition atop it can be found here:

Good luck!

Yes but what i am saying is I installed Ultimate, however no dlc/expansions installed, and apparently no patches installed either, so that doesnt help. I know it *should* as I have already had it up and running on my old pc before the corruption.

I have installed it once, with no dlc, so I downloaded the dlc, so that doesnt help either.

I'll check it out but as I have already had it installed correctly once I figured doing the same thing would work...

I havent installed it over Origins, I got a blank hard drive back and simply put the disk in and installed.

So would you just advise me to totally uninstall and start from scratch again?

I am not sure exactly what to advise... because I am not clear exactly what happened.  Which drive failed on your computer... the drive with the OS (WIndows) or another, separate drive?  Did you end up re-installing Windows to get your computer working?

I had to send my laptop off and they put a brand new hard drive in. Ie i lost everything, other than what I could salvage (well the dude at a local computer shop). Its a totally blank canvas. Does that help at all? Thanks btw

Did you (or he) reinstall Windows or did he clone the existing copy onto the new drive? The reason I am asking is this... even if the DA program files were no longer on the drive, the Windows registry might thing it's still there. So when you installed it again... it caused problems. Or it could be that your copy of Windows itself is buggy.

Either way, I suppose the next step would be to completely uninstall Dragon Age, delete the Dragon Age folders under Program Files and My Documents, and reboot. You could take the added step of using a program like CCCleaner to remove any extra registry keys associated with Dragon Age... I don't necessarily recommend that unless you're comfortable with such things. Reboot and install from the Ultimate Edition discs... which you have two of, correct?

EDIT:  And, of course, you're welcome ;)

Okay, so...

I uninstalled DA:OU, deleted the file from Documents and Program Files, rebooted my laptop.

Inserted the first disk, waited, inserted the second disk when prompted to, then went to watch tv. When I came back there was a popup saying something about something needing to be reversed for something else to be installed (didnt mention Dragon Age) so I clicked yes.

Rebooted laptop, inserted game disk and loaded it up.

"Other Campaigns" is still greyed out...I dont get it. Ultimate is supposed to have everything on it, and the first time I installed it, it worked fine and I finished all of the dlc's other than RTO and TDC. Now, they are nowhere.

Help?

Where are the dlc files meant to be located so I can see if they are in the right place?

Lets assume that for some reason I have the same copy of windows cloned onto this hard drive? what then? Im not going to do anything, other than do another install and see if I can do with with no popups etc...but humour me.

Hope so too. If not, you can try closing DA and running Windows Update to install the Visual C++ stuff. It may also be to your advantage to try that by booting into "Safe Mode with Networking"... in case AVG is being petulant.

I was asking only because I was wondering if there were some old registry keys still associated with the previous install of Dragon Age.  If you can get another method of installation working, that's probably best... I don't know enough, nor am I brave enough, to recommend a lot of registry editing.

Based on the screenshots you provided, I suspect (and this is only a hunch) that the tech recovered Windows using a hidden partition common to most laptop hard drives.  Unless your Toshiba came with a set of recovery discs, of course. Same difference, I suppose.
