Seeing as how low-budget games like Two Worlds 2 managed to get 1 million within the first two weeks and enough profit to warrant a sequel in 2012 I can't imagine an AAA standard game like DA2 'flopping' nor could I see one badly sold game causing EA to sell Bioware (they are running like 3 different IPs at the moment). I mean Jade Empire didn't sell well (why the hell not? It was a great game!) but Bioware still managed to stay afloat.

Also what's with the Witcher 2 being mentioned in EVERYTHING, jeez louise.

Jade Empire sold well for a Xbox game. The problem is the Xbox userbase was so small compared to PS2 at the time and the majority of people who owned Xbox was for Halo. It had a insane percentage of people who only bought one for Halo.

Man, I can't believe that the community is whinning so much. You will all be suprised when DA2 outsells DA:O

DAO has sold around 3.5 million with Awakening selling around 1.2 million DLC has also been a strong seller for DAO.

I don't know any of the latest figures for Mass Effect 2 however it sold over 2 million copies in it's first week.


Personal prediction for DA II is to sell around 5 million copies but maybe thats just me being ambitious

I said current DA:O sold 3.2 mil during its first 3-4 months. Anyways thanks for the reply.  I remember Bioware saying that they need to sell 8-9 million to keep making better games

That was marketing speak...only a few games can surpass 4 million+ sold...and it usually the usual suspect franchises.

If that was the truth then the majority of the industry would be going out of business soon and fast.

LOL - beta test. Graphics have changed, keep up and no one cares about homosexual Geralt and his quest to prove to himself that he is not gay by gathering sex cards of women and wanking over them at the end of the game.

Let's face it, DA2 will have better gameplay just like DA:O had better gameplay than Witcher (and let's face it) and Witcher 2 put together and since Witcher 2 still contains that same combat as the original, I doubt it will be any fun in combat aspects.

Do we have to bring up the Mass Effect 2 sales. People complain about the dialogue wheel but somehow Mass Effect 2 did so well it sold 2 million within the first week obviously there are just not enough people that agree the dialogue wheel sucks. 

That ME2 sold well doesn't mean everyone who bought it enjoyed every aspect of it. I wonder how many people disliked the dialogue wheel in ME2... there are plenty of downsides to it, after all.

No but since the original ME had the dialogue wheel obviously that fan base and then some bought the sequel. See where I am going with this.

The DAO figures were based on a reading in October 2010 it's as recent as i have. And it also does not factor in sales of DA:UE

And that's false, Witcher 2 had a complete revamp in the combat system from witcher 1. Do some research before declaring false information as facts.

Not to turn this into a Witcher vs. DA2 thread...but they both offer completely different things in a RPG. Totally different RPG but awesome in their own ways. The new kids on the block should be sitting up near Bioware and Bethesda pretty soon at the top of the WRPG world.

DA2 will undoubtedly sell well 'cos of the success of the first game and BioWare's reputation. However in terms of critic scores I'm pretty certain it will be lower than both DAO and ME2.

Strange to say that they'll stop the DA franchise if DAII isn't as good as Origins.It's a big new franchise for them.

Dead wrong. The Witcher 2 will have combat similar to Arkham Asylum which was highly praised for the combat

Nope, played the demo, same graphics.

From what I've seen on Youtube,they have been improved.Even from the newer released screenshots.

No one can deny Awakening and the other DLC were big disappointments...my point is that there is no excuse for failing to produce quality products, even if it is just an expansion. They do that too often, and people will stop buying their product. I'd hate to see that happen.
