ITT: People implying that metacritic or professional review scores in general signify anything other than how much money big-name publishers are willing to spend on "incentives".

BioWare fans flaming and banging the keys off their keyboards typing TROLLTROLLTROLL at anybody who dares utter anything good about any game that was not developed by BioWare.

tez19 making an ass out of himself.

what do you not understand?? I like many other games, i just don't understand why people MUST bring up the witcher in every thread. Are you not bored with it too? We might aswell not talk about DA2 at all and just talk about the witcher 2 on these forums.

Morrowind music is better than DA:O :police:

Actually it is. What can we do to help DA2 get better hopefully in production or more likely on the production of DA3? We are not ignorant people in making stuff up the top of our head, no we borrow from other games, say what they did better and criticize on how DA can do better in those departments.

I don't think constant comparisons to the Havok engine is particularly constructive, it's not like they are going to go back and use it.

LOL - beta test. Graphics have changed

Nope, played the demo, same graphics.

since Witcher 2 still contains that same combat as the original, I doubt it will be any fun in combat aspects.

Dead wrong. The Witcher 2 will have combat similar to Arkham Asylum which was highly praised for the combat

No. Detail and shadows and models are different and look at the armor of Hawke in in the first image and see how it lacks detail unlike the armor we've seen in recent videos and screens.

Andraste!  FINALLY someone said it!  I was getting so sick of all this talk about DA2!  So, which NPC are you looking forward to running with most in the Witcher 2?  Personally I love Dandilion, but, of course, I'm interested to see if Triss will be the only love interest option ....

Thats all well and good, accept that you are being obsessive about it, can you not see how you are percieved more as a troll than a defender?, we don't need it in every thread that discusses the visuals.

This.

No.

There's more visual effects now and stuff, however the textures are just as horrible as in their first build

I do agree that the franchise should continue, but they should go back to something closer to DA:O. In that light, DA2 should not be too big a success, or we'd end up getting more games with horrible features like paraphased dialogue wheels... >_>

Do we have to bring up the Mass Effect 2 sales. People complain about the dialogue wheel but somehow Mass Effect 2 did so well it sold 2 million within the first week obviously there are just not enough people that agree the dialogue wheel sucks.

That ME2 sold well doesn't mean everyone who bought it enjoyed every aspect of it. I wonder how many people disliked the dialogue wheel in ME2... there are plenty of downsides to it, after all.

No but since the original ME had the dialogue wheel obviously that fan base and then some bought the sequel. See where I am going with this.

Yes, some people still bought ME2 in spite of the dialogue wheel. Your point?

I prefer Triss over Shani personally. Dandilion at first I didn't like but I loved the scene where the three friends get drunk and start making the funny, it was hilarious!

Oh the irony - people here complain all the time that DA2 is no longer an RPG and/or is an action RPG and/or is a hack & slash, and then tout TW/TW2. Apparently, it's perfectly fine for TW2 to employ action-game mechanics vis-a-vis BA:A because...wait, why is it okay for them have action combat like BA:A?

BTW, I loved BA:A and the control system and have no issues with such mechanics being used in an RPG, but I do see quite a bit of hypocrisy in people complaining about the whole "action" thing in DA2 when they're A-OK with it in TW/TW2.

If DA2 is even HALF as good as Origins it will still be one of the best games I've ever played. I'm glad that Anders' story is continuing in DA2. I definitely don't feel as though I've had enough of him or Alistair (who unfortunately may only get a cameo appearance - not enough for me). But the others I am ready to move on from. Especially my warden - I don't know maybe because your character doesn't speak - but I never really got attached to any of the wardens I played in Origins or Awakening playthroughs. As for the dlc being disappointing - I feel the opposite. I feel it was far better than the dlc for most of the games I have purchased in terms of length and quality. I don't think this franchise is going to end anytime soon, and that would be a VERY good thing.

I'm not. In only 3 threads I recall was I putting an argument discussing visuals.

Yeah hit the dirt, crash and burn, given I'ld wager my left hand that it will make more money in PS3 sales than PC, which it will start on. Face it PC gamers you always have been and always will be...,

outnumberd. Besides hard as hell to please PC gamers from what I seen so far.

It still looks worse of than the first, what was wrong with the DA:O ogres?

nothing was wrong with them in my opinion. I like the new art style in general but the darkspawn is the one species i think has definately come out worse, hurlocks look rubbish and ogres looked better in DA:O.But the ogres look ok in the gameplay i have seen, it is just the hurlocks i do not like.

The difference is, The Witcher was ALWAYS an Action RPG (though a very complex one). People are just mad about the huge changes, though none of those accusations are true (i've played the demo)

Actually I'm enjoying the war between DA2 and TW2. When May comes I predict many fans to be disappointed...

Rofl @ the guy who said that the Witcher was a complex RPG. The game wasn't even hard on the hard difficulty. Shallow combat system, alchemy that's basically buff spells...

Can we all just agree to disagree? This thread is going no where and it will soon be locked if we continue. The Witcher and Dragon Age: Origins are great games and there predecessors will be as great or maybe even greater. Let's leave it at that?

I think the point is that people see it as a change to a combat system they consider worse from a game which didn´t use that style of combat. Combat in TW1 has more in common with BAA than DA. I didn´t think it was that different (in PC) in the demo videos, besides visuals being silly at times and the big difference in attack speed between PC and enemies. Anyway from tomorrow on this problem should dissapear.
