Oh the irony - people here complain all the time that DA2 is no longer an RPG and/or is an action RPG and/or is a hack & slash, and then tout TW/TW2. Apparently, it's perfectly fine for TW2 to employ action-game mechanics vis-a-vis BA:A because...wait, why is it okay for them have action combat like BA:A?
BTW, I loved BA:A and the control system and have no issues with such mechanics being used in an RPG, but I do see quite a bit of hypocrisy in people complaining about the whole "action" thing in DA2 when they're A-OK with it in TW/TW2.
They are usually arguing that DA did not start out as an action game while TW always has been more action-y. Thing is, though, that DA2 is still pretty much the same combat, just flashier looking. The changes in TW2 seem much larger.
