Another Witcher vs. Dragon Age thread?
True gamers don't compare games. Children might compare the two games since they feel insecure if a single game is not dominant but smart gamers don't generalize on an entire game based on a few hours of play or on several screenshots. Instead, one takes both games and praise the merits of both. (Witcher had an excellent atmosphere and a fun 'hack-n-slash' gameplay. DA:O had excellent voice-acting, great writing, and character development). Then, one points out the flaws of both and makes sure the opinion is not solely based on personal tastes. (I felt the Witcher lacked good pacing, some of the voice acting was pretty bad, and way too many fetch quests. DA:O's gameplay felt slow, the graphics were 'meh', and the story was cliched) Finally, conclude that both games still need improvement and eagerly await how the sequels will turn out WITHOUT jumping into conclusion before playing it.

See? Not that hard.

Funny, I predict when March comes many fans will be disappointed (except the fanboys which will defend BioWare to the death). And I predict when May comes nobody will be disappointed

No, but I have met many Witcher apologists... I find it funny the lengths they go to defend the game when the game has many bugs, scripting problems, hilarious reuse of character models, bad dialog, badly designed in-game engine cut-scenes, shallow combat system, endless number of fetch quests, way too easy even on HARD difficulty, etc. etc.

Do you know why I started a second witcher playthrough? Just to see what happens if you haven't learned the "arrow deflecting" skill and you fight the Professor. Do you know what happens? NOTHING! Geralt deflects the arrow despite he shouldn't be able to. Why didn't they gave him that skill by default? Why put it in the skill tree? Why make such a big deal of the whole arrowing deflecting thing in the beginning and then assuming that everybody will learn that skill?
When I reached that fight and when I saw what happened. I exited the game and deleted it from Steam(local data).

You can never please everyyone.I have yet to see a perfect game and I doubt TW2 will change that.

Yeah I predict alot of this crap would stop if the Banhammer got swung around a few times. I think I'll go troll the Witcher Forum actully, see if its staff has the same tolerance of Bio's. Cause Honestly Bioware you guys are saints with all the crap that goes on here.

However, I wonder what would happen if the witcher went to consoles... I mean Crysis did... I think this thread would be funnier...*reloads page lf more DA2 Vs TW2*

I would think most PC players will be pissed.

Sorry but the developers of Witcher 2 have said they have built the game with console in mind so its only a matter of time.

it still looks worse of than than DA:O, what was wrong with the old ogres? And hawkes head looks way too big. Why fix what aint broken?

Personally, i prefer the new style over the rather bland DAO. Characters look and especially move better.

I don't think that if someone will prefer DA2 over DAO is necessary a fanboy.

Sure, there'll be people that prefer it, but probably only if they really disliked DAO's combat and the unvoiced protagonist.

Because arguing gameplay and looks is a totally legitimate argument considering Witcher used BioWare's own dinosaur Aurora Engine (Neverwinter Nights duh).

For somebody who played the Witcher, you obviously don't know why it's successful, and your a BioWare fan for crying out loud. You know what is is? The literature elements of story, plot, and character. That's what made Witcher successful, that's why fans love it. And coming from a BioWare fan who doesn't get it (BioWare does pride itself on story right?), that's just plain pathetic.

Guys. Stop crying about the graphics. I have played the demo and they are in some aspect more polished and in a different kind of art direction. They are a BIT better than origins but definitelly not worse. Stop making a ****ing fuss about basing on screenshots.

No one can deny Awakening and the other DLC were big disappointments...my point is that there is no excuse for failing to produce quality products, even if it is just an expansion. They do that too often, and people will stop buying their product. I'd hate to see that happen.

I can deny, as I did not expience any of Awakening's popular glitches I enjoyed it. Then again, I recieved it for free with the Ultimate Edition along with the other DLC, so I am in no place to judge from your position.

i agree with you, it just shows how many witcher apologists are on this site as when you confront them you are called a troll.
I really am amazed why they are here and not on the witcher 2 forums. Are they that boring?? strange.

Oh the irony - people here complain all the time that DA2 is no longer an RPG and/or is an action RPG and/or is a hack & slash, and then tout TW/TW2. Apparently, it's perfectly fine for TW2 to employ action-game mechanics vis-a-vis BA:A because...wait, why is it okay for them have action combat like BA:A?

BTW, I loved BA:A and the control system and have no issues with such mechanics being used in an RPG, but I do see quite a bit of hypocrisy in people complaining about the whole "action" thing in DA2 when they're A-OK with it in TW/TW2.

The difference is, The Witcher was ALWAYS an Action RPG (though a very complex one). People are just mad about the huge changes, though none of those accusations are true (i've played the demo)

Yes, TW was originally action oriented, although I'd hardly call it complex based on my experience with combat in TW - and hypocrisy is hypocrisy. If people want to hold up TW2 or any other action RPG as a beacon of perfection and then bash another game for supposedly becoming more action-oriented, then it is hypocritical as far as I'm concerned.
