I don't get why people get stuck on the monthly pay thing. I mean...it is just a technical thing. For NWN you bought the game and both expansions...so even though you didn't pay every month you still payed some money along the way...
Sure...this time you will have to pay a bit more....but THEN the game will be tailored for multiplayer AND come with a company hosted PW .... AND they will produce enough content so you wont have to AND you can make your own stuff .... AND .... it goes on....
I just don't get the negativity. I would have understood if a few people whined that this game will suck but it feels like it is a vast majority...(sure - I know this thing with games of today and especially MMO's, but comon'...the people at Cryptic did say some good things didn't they? Lets give it a frekkin' chance...)
Can anyone around here be positive together with me?
Let's do an experiment: No more negative posts...and see where that leads us...

I wouldn't worry overly (or at all actually) about any perceived negativity here. After all, this is the home of Neverwinter Nights, and those who come here do so because they love that game. It's fine not to be excited about a particular game. I'm not drooling with anticipation myself, but I'm not going to say I won't check it out or try it. That seems premature at best, and foolish at worst. It would be like the old Neverwinternights (an ancient MMO, no less! Check it out on the 'Net) diehards saying they'd never even take a look at Neverwinter Nights by Bioware, because it MUST suck, since it is not the same as what they were used to playing. People who decide not to try something before even seeing that something are free to do so, however. Many of them may really not even investigate it, but many many many many many (many infinity here) will check it out, buy it, play it. If the game is released, it will have more players in the first month than are on these fora, without a doubt.
But none of it is really important here, on the bastion of NWN faithful. I love this old game too, but it doesn't stop me from playing other games, or watching new developments. YMMV.

Who exactly is keeping you from having that now or in the future by holding onto praise for the original? That makes no sense, but I do believe the implication has a psychological term attached to it.SuperFly_2000 wrote...
If you like single player fantasy adventures Bioware has been pouring such over you the last 9 years or so. Why not play DA or something and finally let us other have an RPG with multiplayer?

Are they kidding me? I think thats exactly what I didn't want to hear. No turns..? Are they crazy? ...so what....every time you tap the button the PC strikes at the enemy.Emmert talked about how the gameplay will actually work. "Right now, it's an action-RPG, so there are no turns, no initiative rolls.
