Awakenings save will transfer.

Um...yes it is...

If you were more confient you wouldn't need to use elipsis. Use the search function, it was said in another save import thread by bioware.

I'll say it without elipsis because I am confient. "Witch Hunt is canon. What now!?

Now I wait until you come on the forums and find out that Witch Hunt had absolutely no impact and was complete fanservice, crying your outrage at moderators who will chuckle at you.

Obvious troll is obvious.

They said that you can import your Witch Hunt post game save as well.

What is up with this Witch Hunt hate lately? Anyway; Tasuru is half right there. Witch Hunt is not canon. You want to know why? Because there is no canon for DA. There is no "official" playthrough.

Seriously, this should be obvious from the US ending warden being miraculously revived when you import him to awakening.  Why people think there is a canon at all just makes me laugh.

There is canon though.

Like, the Archdemon was defeated and Hawke becomes the champion.

(Sorry, just had to. ;) )

Edit: In any case so the post is on topic, Witch Hunt does transfer over.

This states that Witch Hunt is canon; "The following are the possible endings

* The Warden kills Morrigan, for a number of reasons. Although The Warden's attack looks deadly, Morrigan falls into the portal, and it is possible that she is still alive. The Warden then finds a book in her camp, and disappears.

* The Warden is in love with her, or is good friends with her, and wants her to stay. Regardless of the Warden's actions she will go through the portal, with or without the Warden. If The Warden is not willing to go with her, he/she will be forced to stay behind. Morrigan says her goodbyes in different ways, depending on the Warden's relationship with her in Origins. The Warden then finds a book in her camp, which has a great value. The Warden leaves the Dragonbone Wastes with Ariane and Finn, along with Dog.

* The Warden wants to be with her, or see his child. The Warden and Morrigan kiss each other and enter the portal, leaving everything and everyone behind."

for lazy to click a link

You import a single save file into DA2. If you want to know what data is being imported, trace that save game back to its genesis; that is when you created a new character. If you created an Orlesian Warden then that is a new character and the genesis of a save game. There is no import history for such a save game. An Origins save game imported into Awakening does however have a full history of Origins decisions.

If you took your end of Awakening save and imported it into Golems, then took your Awakening save and imported it into Witch Hunt, the new Golems save game would have no knowledge of Witch Hunt data and the Witch hunt save would have no knowledge of the Golems data. You must import your save games in a single chain tracing all the way back to origins to be able to import all data (Origins->Awakening->Golems->Witch Hunt).

Think of the decision data like an item in your inventory. Jokes aside about DLC items and Awakening imports, imagine you got an item at the same time you made the decision and never disposed of it. If the item would be in your inventory in the save file you import into DA2, then the decision will be imported. If the item wouldn't be there because it's in a different branch of your save game tree, then it will not be imported. There is no world state/decision tracking on a per character basis that transcends individual save files

There are post-game saves - you might need updated versions/patches (however that works on your gaming system of choice).

I just finished Origins for the 4th time!

However I noticed there is no Post Campaign autosave in Awakening and Witch Hunt, so you can't have a savegame including the final moments of both of them.

I think (but maybe I am wrong, in case please explain me) that any save from Awakening or Witch Hunt is useless. The important thing is just playing Origins before...

Then you haven't updated Witch Hunt. There is an Auto-Save in the end. Same with Awakening only it is before the final battle since you make no decition after that.

So how do you update witch hunt on PC?  (Just trying to make sure - I don't have a post-game WH save either.  Just a post-game Origins save and an Awakening save right before the mother fight.

Actually, it's been said if there's a conflict between the Origins data and the data from the expansion or the DLC, then Origins will take priority. Simply because there's no "universal" canon doesn't mean that the individual canon playthroughs aren't going to matter, since DA2 will read the information.

On the PC, you should have patch 1.4 which has the 1.1 patch for WH as part of the patch. I had a problem with 1.4 and had to reinstall the game cause I got only Golem's a few weeks ago after I got WH at release and it seemed to effect my game taking back to 1.3, and not allowing the 1.4/1.1 WH patch to take effect.

Was the Witch Hunt patch released for the PS3? Cause I just played it today and not only does it still ignore the choices I made in Origins (Morrigan acts as if she was in a romance with my warden, which wasn't the case, and as if I refused the ritual, which wasn't the case either), it also doesn't have any autosave feature at the end :/

it was, but some people have issues importing a character from Awakening and Golems.

I had to Go with Awakening, and beat the boss 2 times for it to work after the patch was used.

Ok I updated to WH 1.1 and loaded up the quicksave right before morrigan, and this time it did create one final autosave right after the conversation, so I think I'm all set.

Beat what boss 2 times? You can save after the last boss in WH, just not after the talk with Morrigan. Or do you mean the Awakening final boss?
