Help requested. in realising interesting longlasting story idea for standalone mod

 Hello to all.  
I've played through  nwn,nwn2  and dragonage . 
since Nwn  i started to come up with idea for stories to make  with the toolset. 
I've tried to get  a start on making a story but due to  lack of time atm.  i never gotten  really started on it. 
still i think  atm  i got a very  good  storybase for a  standalone mod. : the  tamurion chronicles. 

it tells  the tale of a  the player  escaping  an  dungeon  and enters the land of tamurion.
The land has just been swepped by a large mystical storm that   brought  it back to beginning of  
evolution .  all the knowledge and wisdom is gone.  the  civilsation in the land is decimated. 
back to  the starting pointing. 

explore the land.  discovery the secrets of the past before the storm. discover the knowledge  to evolve in 
magic. weaponcrafting , alchemy etc. .  find  the truth behind the storm .

build  up an stronghold, there are several to choose from,  each  with his  own base storyline , but  along the  route  you  can get in  contact with how an other  stronghold  evolved if you took it. 

If anyone is interested in modding  and setting up a  good stand alone mod and want to look into this. than post  on this  topic.

i checked the last days since the posting . although many view the posting i dont get a reply from any of you. can anyone please post a comment how i can improve this thread that people post on it.





I know the idea is good to realise , and long lasting.

If you have an idea for a project and expect anyone to help you, you will need far more than what you've provided so far. Try fleshing out this world of yours: what are the politics, the geography, the characters? What are the motivations of those characters? Is there a story? If so, what is it? What are the conflicts, the protagonists, the antagonists? Is the project focused more on exploration, or on combat, or dialogue and character interaction? Does it have any sort of gimmick or new gameplay feature to set it apart? You suggest factions and strongholds, but what are they? Why are they fighting? How big do you plan this project to be? Does it require custom models, textures and animations?

Sorry to say it, but you need a lot more than the extremely bare-bones premise you've presented to make a campaign with any sort of real vision behind it, and even more so if you expect anyone to help you out. Ideas are a dime a dozen, but actually making something out of one requires skill, dedication, and time. More than that, you need to give people incentive to help you by demonstrating that you can and will do work on this. "I have a great idea but I'll hire a bunch of people to do everything for me" isn't exactly an inspiring thing to rally behind.

okay , first of all sea I like to say that you've challenged me a litle bit with you're post .
I looked onto you're site and i like the looks of you're own project.

as for my own project. well as building concerns i'm still busy on the learning part.
the story i'm working on considers a land that starts of from scratch in the beginning.
everything is destroyed . the cities , villages have barely survived the storm.

you explore the lands learn secrets about all kind of knowledge basicly to help rebuild the land.
you get at the start choices to make on what to hunt of the past. finding bits and peaces you find in the dungeon you escape. what you want to pursuit of the past makes also decide on what kind of stronghold gonna be made in the land from scratch and following out some quests out of it. i will post here on some more later. but got now to go to work.

and im not hiring anyone for it. peep are free to work on it. no pressure at all . no timelimets what so ever. i rather keep on that by an old rule when it is done it is done .

well here is my second part on the post 2 days ago.

for building the mod i got in mind i got a simple plan to start of how to work on it.
and also for who is willing to help in it.

first of landscaping. making the land how it looks in the beginning. the land has litle amount of cities . most of the them are nothing more than small encampments with a few houses starting to rise.

when the bare land has been designed the first questline is implented of the escape and the first possible stronghold with his own questline. depending on how you run through the questline ( choice have to be made) the stronghold evolves from a simple storagehouse you buy for example to a great armory with weaponsmithing. in this quest line you follow the remaining bits of the past to learn how to cast armour and weapons. in time the more you evolve and others around you it will attract the origin of the storm.

if the first questline has it's first questline is done can be put on the net for a playthrough.

after that more storylines concerning different strongholds can be build in. also som questline which give you a glimpse how they look like if you not play those through,

as for the background in the land: politics are still litle. there small groups wich controll the settlements. most of the population is on survival . recovering from the ashes of the storm.
still living in fear. how to live on without angry the storm origin again .

input from others is welcome if somebody has a idea that fits in it is can tell me and we will talk about. i gonna set up a forum soon as possible. well a new forum the old one at the moment is quite death never did get a good start of.
when it is made i let you all know.

 it has been like a month  i  wrote on this  topic.  since  than  a  lot  of  storywriting has  been  started in this   project. 
whenever i got the  time for it  i work on it.  

i got a  first  main  questline  written  down  now  concerning   building   up a  stronghold involving   the  art  of   necromancy.  meaning  that  all  quest  concerns  the undeath.  raising   help out of  it  and  soldiers  in time  for the  great  war against the   common  foes of the story.  the ones  that  controll the  devasting  storms   through the land. 

I'm now  at a stage of this  questline  that  i'm  can start to work out  the  looks  of the area's  making   basic  maps  before working out in to  real buidling  in the  toolset. 

this  mod is still large  and  still  i'm   looking for  some   people   willing to  join in this  project.  I know that  sea  posted  here  telling that i  told to litle about the mod.  I'm willing   to tell  some  but  not  too much  on this  forum. 

I don't  want to spoil everything. the story  and so on. 

main through  this  mod is  building  up the land  again after the storm.   
building  a stronghold  that will serve as a protection for you're men  for now  i base the  stronghold on the  art  of necromancy ,thorugh the  questline   you will see the  place  change from encampment  to  a  full  stone stronghold.   

but  i got  plans  for  more and other  strongholds each with  it's own knowledge or art based on.
examples:  arcane assasins,  armory,   classic  keep  with armie  buildup,  all have links  with the common  foe of the story the one  that is  behind  the storms.  giving the player  a choice wich  path  of knowledge to take. 

think of learning  new stuff  like in oblivion.  going  deeper into the  knowledge of everything than the basic craftmenship  of  dragon age origins story.

i see on this   topic  that  many  has  viewed but still not really reactions  come from the  community.  I got  some more  luck on the  nexus forum  topic.   I got  curently one  new partner  in this  project from there.  

I hope  more  will react on this  mod.  talk about it ,  post  here.  tell me  thier  thoughts  on my  project .  how  i can attract  others in  it.   for  now  i will keep  progress posted  hoping  for  more  reaction  on this  topic  that it now is.

Hi, I would like to help, (I dont know how long this thread has been going, it appears to me like this: Creada: %1$s 4 segundos ago by soulsensei), but Im a noob with the toolset (took me 3 days to reporpouse Dust Town, 3 DAYS!), if you want to give me simple tasks that I could do to help I would be happy to help as this would serve me as practice, if youre still working on this I would like to help.

the project is still alive.
I know that in the last months i did no posting here. this because i've been busy with a lot of things including the toolset. looking on the internet to get in and outs of the toolset.
I even got one other person already who wants to help shadowstabber.
but i believe at the moment he is busy with school .
i'm still also learning a lot fo the toolset and building. .so got no problem that you're a noob. , we all started that way. and got better by practice.
few weeks ago i started to actually build my first good area.
finally i got an old forum some where i believe but i think its more interesting on that to start out fresh on that aswell. I learned some website building from scratch with notepad++ mostly.

rounding it up. the project is still alive and help is still welcome. it's best to pm me to get more of the in and outs until i got a site on it running,(that can be soon) and pizza picante i think i pm you also.
