Oh god. I got the game in late January, and I have been waiting all this time for the patch to come out. Now I'm hearing the patch causes more harm than good? Does this mean another patch is necessary?
So you bought a $60 paperweight cause of your fear of the glitch boogeyman? that's somewhere between sad & laughible, i'll give yah that
Unless you have the old fatty ps3 i really don't think a clipping glitch will cause your ps3 to blow up and send black shrapnal into your empty skull

I found a glitch.. it was annoying. I downloaded the patch yesterday when i first turned on my PS3. After several hours of gameplay, i got to the IFF mission. When i got to the final fight, legion gets knocked out. I fight through the horde of creatures, then proceed in using my Viper sniper rifle to shoot the engine. I took out 1/3 of it's health/shields before it shut. Upon it setting up it's impenetrable wall, it made a loud rurrrring sound, kind of like an engine was about to explode. This noise, continued through the rest of the fight and through all of the dialogue afterwards (which became muted) until i finally saved and restarted the game.
Luckily, the noise went away and i was able to re-do the dialogue that i missed. Has this happened to anyone else?

This has happened to me twice. Luckily, it seems to go away when you restart.

Hey, I don't know if its the patch thats causing this but sometimes when I load up a certain part of the game (You get like an animation of the Normandy) All the graphics go weird, everything turns to white and you can see all the geometry lines, its really hard to explain, but basically all the graphics are messed up. Its only happened a few times to me throughout my female shep playthrough and I just go to the main menu and load up my last save and its fixed. But it gets annoying having to do quit to the main menu everytime this happens and to redo everything all over again. If anyone else has had this problem please tell me. K, thanks

I have had some cutscenes skip after patching (didn't encounter any issues prior to the patch)
Have only played one mission and quit after it occurred multiple times during the same conversation (I reloaded the mission to check if it might have been incidental but it occurred at the exact same moments, this was in during the Thane loyalty mission) Missing chunks of a conversation kills the immersion for me so I quit for the night.
In my case the patch definately had a negative impact, as I hadn't experienced any issues beforehand.
Could you tell us if it still happens to you when you try the mission again? This could be major since something like that is totally a game breaker for this type of game.
Oh and to repeat what Rockpopple said, please post the exact conversations where this would happen. This could also help to see if any others are having the same glitch at the same place
Don't think this can really be considered a spoiler, the skipped cutscenes / conversations were most notable during the first conversation with the CSEC commander (Bailey I think his name is?) during the aforementioned mission, before heading off to the objective. Replayed it a a third time today and still the exact same. Additionally I also experienced a lot of freezing which I hadn't at all pre-1.01. As far as I know, the patch was supposed to cease the freezing, not cause it...
Since I'm on my first playthrough, I'm thinking of starting over. Perhaps playing through the same missions again will make the difference more obvious / easier to describe, so I can forward my case to Bioware.
The freezing, although it does bug me somewhat, has not proven gamebreaking yet as the mission I'm talking about takes place on the Citadel and doesn't involve heavy combat and I haven't had to restart the game as of yet. Perhaps if it happens during an 'intense' combat mission that will change my opinion. Missing out on portions of a conversation does spoil the fun, so I really hope it's just isolated to this one mission (wishfull thinking, I know)
I'll post more after I can find the will to load up again. Patches that make the experience worse don't go too well with me. Naturally, I do understand that the corrupted save data issue had to be fixed, but I'm not sure what's worse: enjoying the game with the risk of loosing your progress (with a simple and for me proven effective workaround) or not wanting to play at all because the story element is compromised by the skipping of conversations.

Since installing the patch I've discovered the following...
1. HORRIBLE framerate issues. The game is constantly stuttering, freezing and delaying door openings all over the place. I never had these issues prior to release 1.01.
2. Animation freezing during cutscenes.
3. Cutscenes skipping forward.
4. Cooldown period permanantly STUCK on cooling down, meaning I can no longer use powers.
Really EA????? Did you even test the the thing or did you just shove crap out the door. Nothing like CODE, LOAD and EXPLODE. Thanks, you've ruined my gameplay experience.
From sephivengance9
I've had a few actual noticeable frame-rate issues since the patch, but nothing else =/
From onetrupseudo
I've experienced all the same issues on top of not being able to charge
properly anymore. Before I could charge without a hitch now my charge
bugs out like hell when I use it. It'll either put me back to where I
was already standing/crouching or do something buggy like put me inside
the person I charged to or put me behind them (facing the same direction
obv. so my back would be to them which gets me killed pretty darn fast
on Insanity) or stops me in front of whatever cover they were behind
leaving me out in the open.
-Quick Edit-
Before the patch the
only things wrong with my game was the freezing during Tali's
recruitment mission and the wireframe bug. Now it's so buggy! D;
From Starbladedg
same here with more sound errors.
From namethatnonosues
Not good: seems like some conversations (especially ones on the Normandy) skip themselves during lines of dialogue.
Loads
aren't faster either. I might delete data and get pre-patched. It's
very annoying. Hope more patches are on the way to fix this patch.
From dange_rous87
I've got this problem now too. It's kinda annoying but if you have
subtitles on you can still read their lines, & at least this is a
little better than having your whole file corrupted... which never
happened to me ...
I might reinstall without the patch as well. Would that be the "dlc and
patches" file? I'd just have to download the Cerberus content again
then.
From prorok at ign
Had no problems before update. Now some of the conversations skips themselves. That update sucks!
From mappyman
Just got the patch. I actually seem to notice a
longer load time when going through floors on the Normandy. Maybe its
just me but cinematics seem to 'skip' more and theres parts where the
combat seems to stagger.
I did Jacobs mission and early on when you set the timer bomb, it 'pushed' me into a mountain where i couldn't move.
Wouldn't be a problem if the game didn't Autosave right after that, ended up restarting the mission. >_<
From gweapon
dialogue seems to cut off at the end of the last word in a lot of cut
scenes. still has the voice/picture lag too. makes me wonder why they
bothered at all
Ive borderline trolled this forum i know but i honestly want all this crap fixed for players who still believe in the game and those yet to spend 60 dollars on it so im doing my share and i find bug reports. Your move bioware. Please prove me wrong.

I appreciate all the feedback here, but please only post issues that you, yourself, have seen. Reposting other peoples comments doesn't allow a dialog between us and you. Instead it's easy for it to look like troll fodder.
Thanks everyone.

I understand but you did read them right? none of them is from this forum, i went to gamefaqs and IGN to get reports you probably dont read so i considered them valid feedback, none of them is made up i assure you. Wont do it again.
As you say dialog is more important so id like to know if theres plans on yet another patch to fix the first and the numerous glitches left (ng+ would be the most prominent at this point) or is this as good as it gets?, i know other bioware games feature glitches that were never fixed which is why i ask.

I guess I'm one of the unlucky people who actually is experiencing MORE problems after downloading the new patch. Is there anything that can be done to prevent these random freezes/crashes?

Jesse thanks for your dedication to the PlayStation 3 version of the game! (I imagine you guys are hard at work on other projects) Another glitch I found is that whenever I enter the Shadow Broker Base, the collectible ship decoration codex (for the Shadow Broker Base) keeps popping up. Hope I explained my glitch correctly!
Reginthorn, I believe that is actually a pre-patch glitch. It always happens to me even before the patch.

- The game now loads more slowly, not faster as indicated by the patch notes
- Speech lags / cuts out during cut scenes
- The game freezes regularly during cut scenes / when loading following them. In particular this seems to happen a lot on the Azure level, just after shooting the Spectre (to the extent that I haven't managed to progress past this point)
- Following a crash, on restarting the PS3 there are issues in recognising the disc in the drive. One of two main errors occur: (1) 'corrupted data' showing on the disc launch icon; (2) The PS3 refuses to recognise that there is a disc in the drive. The only way to recover from this is to leave the system turned off at the wall and restart 5 or so minutes later
- More worryingly, on trying a different game following a crash (have tried Need for Speed / CoD) these also refuse to run.
To reiterate - absolutely none of the above errors occurred prior to downloading the patch. Is there any way to delete and reinstall the game in its original form without losing save data...?

Today when I was playing the horizon mission speech cut. It was extremely minor though.
(SPOILERS) Once the collector ship retreated after the boss fight with the praetorian, Grunt said something like "We have defeated them, but they still got what they came for". It cut half way through that. Then again, my game did this before the patch but it was very rare. Im hoping this was one of those rare times.
Other than that, the patch hasn't made my game any buggier

1) Terrible, low quality textures on the grassy areas of the Project Overlord mission.
2) Loading times in the Normandy are the same, if not longer.
