I think the rumor was based on an image from the ME3 trailer.

BG3 and/or NWN3 are not going to happen since they're PC based IPs and Bioware is going mostly after console players, as most of the industry unfortunately.

They're doing (insert number of classes in TOR here) KOTOR 3s. 

Granted, that's not what people mean when they ask for KOTOR 3, but that's basically what it is.  Despite the genre change.

This is nonsense.

The reason they won't do BG or NWN is because they are no longer licensed to produce that IP.

They created their own IPs and are running with them.  Then there's TOR, a PC exclusive.

I'm not expecting any new IPs out of Bioware in the near future. They seem pretty set with the three they're using right now. After ME3 there's sure to be some additional stories within the franchise, Dragon Age will definitely have a lot more stories to tell, and the TOR team will be stuck on MMO duty for a long time.

I don't think they are going to happen either, but I think your stated reasons are some of the least plausible explanations as to why. Rather, they're not going to happen because BioWare do not own those IPs nor have the licenses needed to use them.

Bioware no longer owns the rights to Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights, and thus, there will be no sequels most likely.

They are already in talks about Dragon Age 3 - Someone mentioned the Varric will be in it.

Mark Darrah: Absolutely. I am sure we will meet again Varric, he is very popular. Cassandra has no major role Dragon Age II, but for Dragon Age III is very important.

There is another neverwinter game being made, thats why R.SA Salvatore is writing a new DRiZZt series based around neverwinter. Its going to be an ONLINE RPG. NOT MMO

Tbh, guys. All three games are winners, if they manage to keep up the originality, who cares?

Dragon Age is the best winner true history, and Mass Effect on a good second, if TOR manages a fraction of these game's successes, then we'll all be in for a good time.

I'm really hoping they have a new Franchise in the works...

Sure, there is more to come from Dragon Age and maybe some other ME Galaxy game in the Future...

But just for the sake of "Good Business" they need a new Franchise that they own completely.

I think we will see one in the future.

SW:TOR is that game. I hope, at least. Don't get me wrong, I love my MMOs, but I hope they can do the story justice, as they claim. Looks to be on track for that, at least.

It was every nerd's fevered dream to be able to play KotOR with their friends... now that its actually happening, we seem to fear the concept.
