Seems like a lot of work to me, though. I'd just play through without them since the items in HotU are so much better than any you may have collected in another campaign.

Still, I'm not sure I understood you perfectly, so I'm only guessing. Take a look.

Hip do you think it would be possible to spawn the specific Chest into chap three with my stuff in it? or do u think that wont work?

The chest itself is not an item. It is a placeable, so would need scripting to spawn it (at least I don't know the DM command to spawn a placeable if there is one). But it would only contain the drow note anyway.Aterious Draconius wrote...

No clean way out of this situatiion really. Except for respawning each item yourself, the shortest path would be to load a save from before talking to Halaster, back-track to the chest area, grab your stuff and then replay Ch 2 again.
There is also a way to move all those items from your starting PC version to a multiplayer holding module to be picked up by the Ch 3 version and then restart Ch 3 with the leveled PC version again, but you will deprived of the Ch 2 henchies since none of their variables will be set by that module. Hence, the Reaper will not offer their help to you.
But is that really worth all the trouble?

But the tip I gave you could "teleport" either your gear or your PC in any area you already went.
Just trying to take over Hip here, you know, Hip, the ultimate NWN hero...
Frustrating...

@Hip, i figured as much.... figured it wouldent hurt to ask, problem is i havent got a save that is before talking to the mad one unfortunately but this multiplayer module idea u where talking about sounds promising.... how does it work and can it be run localy?
@jml i can see Hips point here, how would the teleport work across modules? i dont think it would. if you somehow managed to merge all three into one then yes it would be a possibility but then you would have to remake or fix a heap of scripts and other things within the HotU module itself.

Open Script: q2a_enter_rooms
on line 162, add this: /*
on line 320, add this */
save the script.
click on the build button at the top left of the toolset.
select build modual
unselect everything but compile, and scripts
click the build button.
Now you can go one of 2 ways,
Either
save as: YourXP2_Chapter1 Which will require you to play this version of Chapter1 from now on.
OR:
Export the script, and place it in your override folder. You will have to open the erf, and remove the script to the folder, just placing the erf into your folder will do nothing. Which will let you play the normal version of Chapter1.
afterwards:
The items will not be taken from your character, however the rest of the chapter, will have instances in various conversations that says they were. Depending on what gear you have, you may find the challenges of chapter 1, and 2 to be less than as it was written for.

If you ever want to mule items, just make a single module with a single small area and save it. Then open it in multplayer and play with any PC you want. Dump all the items you want to mule over on the ground or in a container (if you feel adventurous;)), then save the game. I usually don't save the character to retain a copy of all the muled items. Then just reopen the same module in MP again, this time with the PC you want to grab the items, pick them up and save just the character this time (unless you want to keep the clean appearance of the mini-module, then save the game as well).Aterious Draconius wrote...

Then just start any SP module you want with the newly-supplied PC. This saves having to use the console to spawn all the items in-game and SHOULD move all those items that were created via scripting as well.
But for goodness sakes, in your travels in SP... SAVE!

One thing I didn't understand, Aterious Draconius: You didn't save? Which means you don't even have your PC memorized anywhere? Bad boy, you.
Try Shova's one or replay: You would be there already by now!

I may be completely wrong here, since I never actually tried that "load in multiplayer"-thing, but what about this: get your PC close to some conveniently located chests, export your character and save your game. Open in multiplayer, use the old version of your character (post SOU, should be lvl 12-13) and dump the gear into the chest. Save your game. Reload again in multiplayer and use your latest version of the character. Take stuff from chest. Save the game and play on in SP.
Might be worth a try. But honestly, chances are you are going to sell most of that stuff anyway (since you already have better items), so why don't you just use DebugMode, give yourself some gold and pretend you did just that? Would be way easier
Whatever you do, have fun!

- If you happen to have a safe of a "legit" and "up-to-date" PC, with the appropriate journal and all quests you're supposed to have recorded in it, export it.
- Then find a savegame with that gear you wanna get back and save that PC as well. (Check "my" Shia's Tip N°32). Not that complicated since even a French is able to use it.
- Have that "gear only" PC entering the Customize Character module, and save that equipment in the "eternal" chest there, which means use the lever on the side!
- Then enter this same module but with the "legit" PC this time, and packrats the gear from the box.
- Export that "gear" + "legit" PC with something like a dagger in his hand, to remember of this very one being "The PC to play with".
- Load your HotU savegame, the one you want to finally continue playing from, in multiplayer (>>> 'Multiplayer' >>> 'Load Internet/LAN game') with this newly acquired 'ultimate' PC, (you might have to adjust your options there), but, hey, I made it, so... choose the latest PC (right handside choice to check).
- Save the game there in MP... to simply reload it in SP.
Or use the Terishia's full MP method, or SHOVA's one.
Or even Hip's one, the only one I would have serious doubts about... How much would a mountain bear know about electronics anyway, hey?

As Terishia was saying, it would be a lot faster to cheat the whole thing around, but I can understand you got sentimental with this hardly acquired equipment of yours... I've been there, sentimental I mean. We all have, I suppose.
If you practice that "easier to do than to describe" trick, you shall have a good use of it in your NWN future. The fist step is the hardest one, like that one towards your girl, remember? I know, the same, awful... That's why I never cheated on her. To not have to go through this proposal thingy again. Also because she is stronger than me. Way stronger. Well, just a woman...
Only, once I did it...
Oups! Sorry, 'going back off topic:
No multiplayer server required, only pretending...
Don't worry, I'm not that brave either...
