XBOX 360 DEMO PLAYTHROUGH IMPRESSIONS AND THOUGHTS

I enjoyed it. It made me feel right back in the world of Dragon Age and made me tingle inside.
Graphics 9/10
For the 360, Engine, and the fact its an RPG. Its actually quite nice to look at in comparisson to DA:O. The Mouths move expecially nice, and there is more emotion and movements in the talking than "some random hand movements when things are explained" Only complaint is that the combat animations are not fluent, more static, but it looks real cool.
Combat ?/10
I haven't decided. Its cool, fast, but i don't think i graps it yet. Its also a personal prefrence, so who am i to say its awesome or sucks. Either way, i think its a great step for the series
Story/Lore 10/10
Its Dragon Age, whats not to love. Like I posted up there. The only thing for me to try to get past is Lothering area looking like a wasteland, Flemeth looking like a Quanri all of a sudden (its right after the Warden and Allister complete the first area) and Darkspawn look different, but Im glad these changes were done early, and maybe Flemeth's look has some story to it.
I want to hear everyone's first impression and to post their first playthrough below!!
POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!!!!!!!
Male Hawke
Mage
Bethany Dies

In the end the enhanced graphics wont make up for my poor use of a computer.
More fun if i can use the controller very well.

Anyway, a few pointers:
- Hawke and Carver were at Ostagar in Cailan's army under a certain Captain Varel (the seneschal from Awakening?).
- Hawke's dad was called Malcolm. This is mildly annoying because my Warden was called Malcolm. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png[/smilie]

Also, the demo is restricted to Normal difficulty.

15-40 minutes depending on how well you play and if you skip cutscenes and dialog.Arttis wrote...
average length?
I enjoyed the demo, for the most part. I was thrown off a bit because I forgot that auto-attack was off by default, so the Darkspawn schooled me for a bit, then I started to catch on and got my groove. Combat feels right now that every time I press A, it actually does something unlike DA:O where I press it once and the game goes through the motions for me. Even so, I'm a bit nostalgic about that mechanic, so I'm sure I'll enable it a little bit during the main game.
I played as a rogue, but unlike DA:O, I have no real class preference. I pretty much enjoyed playing all of the classes (I kept switching party members, obviously).
Mage melee was still entertaining despite the lack of a sword, so I'm sure I'm going to make at least one mage a melee mage, probably Bethany if I don't make Hawke a mage.
And for those worried, combat damage is an option toggle, but it's off by default. If you feared your floating numbers were gone forever, don't worry, it's still there.

One random thing: I've finished 2 playthroughs now and I don't think I've seen a finishing move. I don't know if they disabled them for the demo, I just missed one, or what. But, yeah, that's odd.
No more finishing moves.

I didn't see one either. I loved the deathblows, too, especially the dual wielding ones.MrStorm2K wrote...

I did notice no finishing moves, but there was supposed to be finishing moves, mages were even supposed to have them. Maybe on for PC cause of auto combat
