this is bull. demo should've been released in unison on all platforms. not fair bioware/psn
Why would it be done differently than any of the other downloadable cross-platform content that Bioware has released such as Dragon Age Origins or Mass Effect 2 DLC?

It's faster. ALOT faster. There's no auto attack so you keep masshing the attack button for the regular attacks which may take some getting used to.
Yeah it's pretty annoying actually having to mash the a-button like a mad man just to do normal attacks (which don't do much damage at all) it' distracting and ridiculous. I'm very dissapointed to be forced to constant buttonmashing. That's not "twitchy", that's retarded.

The male Hawke was a bit strange to me, his voice was good but his face did not fit at all. His eyes somehow looked a little strange, but female how however is hawt! Not only does she walk lovely, but she also looks great!
It was fun to see Flemeth again in the demo, and she looked better then I thought she would. What about this item they are to deliver I dont know, but it will be interesting to find out when the game comes. This demo just made me want the game even more, I have been waiting for such a long time now. I cant wait any longer, anyway I guess I`ll play through the demo a couple of times first XD.

i loved the first but i did think the combat needing improving and speeding up and obviously BioWare have done this. but from all the vids ive seen the main character seems to be moving at lightning speeds.

No no, the rogue was actually quite normal. It is you who decide either to jump back, or around it and such and that makes it possible to control your own speed, but the faster the better I think. Although I dont think the rogue was to quick, the rogue was amazing. I have played through the rogue now, just got started as an mage now.

1. It plays just like DA:O only faster....No idle walking and waiting to attack like before. Now when you tell someone to attack it's not the tried "will do" but the blood lust full charge in"Which ear do you like".
2. They are way more tactics involve in this game. It not just Mages and some of the rogues abilities. Now it everything. Worriers are now way more tactical than before.
3.Archery is ....satisfying.......Really. You can knock back enemies more, you have an array if trick in you bag for tactics and you feel the shot fire in your control.(Yes, rumble for every shot.)
4. And ofcourse, you can pause and play.
They are a few problems for the demo though.
1. Worriers with out auto-battle is repetitive. They are only fun to play at mid to high level when you have more thing you can do. After the legend fight you find your self pressing the A button over and over again until 1 of 2 of your abilities recharge. The same can almost be said for mage except rushing into a fight is a death sentience for them.

That being said- bit buggy in places I'm finding, not too keen on the revamped interface (though it may grow on me), and I've hit a dead end outside the Kirkwall Chantry. It's lit up as a plot beacon, but I can't enter. Shame.

Hmmm, no auto attack? You have to press a button over and over for the "white damage" swings?
Only if u use inferior technology.

This is definitely a must-buy game, but I'm afraid that the gameplay is too much like ADHD button smashing. At least it feels like it, because when you quit from pause, the hell unleashes. Maybe that's what this console-generation wants...
But please Bioware, make the battles just a little slower, ok?

The same flaws keep popping up. The battles are simply way too easy. I remember in DA:O, the only way I'd be able to fight that many darkspawn was if i had a fully buffed arcane warrior, a tank and support ranged classes. even then, it'd be difficulty
In addition, we don't need to plan or strategize as much because apparently there's no friendly fire when i do a fireball, firestore or rain of arrows... some younger gens will probably be ecstatic as their commands don't have any consequences but it gets old pretty quick
All in all, the gameplay feels repetitive, and involves a lot of micro for just the rogue alone because it plays like Gauntlet, or a hack and slash.
I'm still getting it, preordered a signature copy a long time ago but hopefully the story will be compelling enough for me to forget about the combat issues.

I hope the difficulty was easy for demo purposes if that is normal i will be very disipointed. No frienddly fire is just dumb.

Horrible, dumbed down tripe. I have purchased every game made by these people ever. Will not be buying another after the continued dumbing in ME2 and now this. Another good company bites the dust.
No, another good company makes more money so they can make more games...Your critisism's don't equal failure of the company <_<.

Lots of long pauses during cutscenes that really interupted the flow of the conversations. Hope they get that sorted for the main game. Potions seemed to work once then couldn't get a second one down. Is there a timer on these?
The overall feel of combat was just too busy/flashy for my tastes. There wasn't any sense of gravity to it. Yes, some aspects were better than DA:O (being able to get out of the way of ogre charges etc). But I missed the pacing of combat from DA:O. Which surprises me because the combat was really one aspect of the changes that didn't have me muttering. Why does Hawke just stand there after he's killed hurlock #3 while hurlocks #4 and #5 pound away on him unless I select one of them and manually tell him to attack again? In origins the warden had the good sense to turn to the nearest badguy and start smacking them around whether I held his hand or not. Hope there's a way to change that behavior?
The voiced protagonist and dialog wheel were generally pretty good. Not sure if the wheel /paraphrase system really is a step forward from the old style or not, but it's not a nagative in my book.
Graphics were ok. Still think the old art direction was much more to my tastes, and the environments in the demo really are dull. But the human characters look really good. So, a mixed bag overall.
I'm assuming that there were chuncks of story skipped in the middle of the demo? (e.g. arriving in kirkwall, meeting varric/isabela etc). Otherwise that was one helluva jarring transition.

I like the dialogue wheel. I don't mind the more-over-the-top fighting. I just don't know why they thought Dragon Warrios was the ideal combat system to emulate. This is horrific.
EA: WHY DID YOU TURN THIS INTO A BUTTON-MASHER?!?!?! ARGH!!!!!!!
And yeah, the PC cut-scenes are, for some reason, stutter even more than the console cut-scenes. EA has never been known for having the ability to do basic code optimization (can someone explain to me why nearly ever EA game features the words "Press Start" at the beginning of each game followed by *A LOADING SCREEN*)?
I knew EA was going to get their n*sty, grubby hands on BioWare's stuff. I was hoping they wouldn't code it tho. Guess they did.
