I'd suggest all of us concerned about this attend the Live Chat this Saturday(they posted about it in Announcements forum). I know i'm going to watch and ask, and hopefully get an answer or at least bring it to whomever's attention that read's the Q's. Maybe get an out and out response rather than a private PM.

Not saying the PM is bad, just saying I would rather have it on video/out of the mouth of a Dev to hear.

Every other developer doesn't make their UI work for both definitions, if you play Xbox 360 or PS3 then the system is not designed for SDTV. It has nothing to do with game developers. I play on SDTV as well, I deal with the tiny text in every game I play from numerous different game developers. It does not bother me that much though.

If you cannot deal with it then hold off on buying 3 games and get a cheap HDTV. 

actually you are quite wrong the xbox 360 has abilty to switch between hd and stdtv so its not system related its bioware related most companies will have stdtv version on the same disk since the game can be switched to hd by  the plug in the back of the xbox if you switch to hdtv it will clear it up and add more pixels thast about it in hdtv mode.

well on my hd computer monitor the fonts are big and readable and i hate to see how its going to look on xbox they really need to fix this or its going to be a pain to read

Yeah, thought so.

Aspect ratio is different from definition.  Even HDTVs can use 4:3 ratio.   The standard for HDTV is 16:9 ratio yes, but high definition just means there are more pixils in the same space compared to an sd tv.  Completly different.  Stop fanning the flames.  I do agree, even as a pc / hdtv user, that bioware should address this, atleast until even more people are using HDTVs.

Bioware please make the text legible on SDTVs. I don't want to move back in with my parents after failing to pay my apartment rent because I spent all my money on a HDTV.

Nonsense! You can afford it! You sicken me! Buy an HDTV! Turn tricks to make the cash if you have to! There are no excuses! In fact, they're so affordable, we demand you buy like 12 of them and tape them together to make a super HDTV as this game deserves nothing less!

All right! Now these are the kind of replies we should be seeing instead of all the SD/HD warring nonsense. The more people that speak out about being unhappy with the text size, the more likely we are to see a solution! Keep 'em coming, guys!

Whelp... EBGames tried charging my account on the 2nd (just found out about it now) for a game that doesn't come out until the 8th. If they can't wait for me to A) get my check and put it in the bank, than my pre-order is effectively canceled. If it is, fine. I don't think I'll buy DA2 for awhile if that happens. Wait for an Ultimate Edition or something. Maybe hope this issue actually gets freakin' fixed.

1. too small

All these problems could have been avoided by using a sans-serif font 2 to 4 points larger during design. I have zero hope that BioWare will patch this...

Personal solution attempts. adjusted the contrast, brightness and color intensity on the TV. adjusted brightness in the game options. changed the display on Xbox to widescreen.
results: poor... slightly more readable in widescreen xbox mode, captioning and dialogue that runs along the top is cut off however. Color adjustments did nothing. Brightness and Contrast did the most, by eliminating the "glare" around the lettering.
I am off to buy an HDTV - thankfully I saw this coming and have been saving up

I am buying one too my issue is space though. the max I can (and want to) get is 22". so all you 'buy a new tv damn it' peeps... what's a good one to get then? keeping in mind I dont want to watch tv, I just need it to play games (xbox360) so I could care less about tv tuners and whatever.

I think the point is, HDTV or SDTV, 18" or 47" screen, THE TEXT IS TOO SMALL. What's the point of telling anyone to buy an HDTV when that doesn't fix the problem? (And yes, I own a 47" HDTV). An RPG is supposed to enable the player to become immersed in a role. Kind of hard to do when you keep having to get up and stand 2 feet from the screen to make a dialog decision.

If the game was only about swinging a sword, I wouldn't care. But this is a game where the dialogue is supremely important to the story. And the dialogue is unreadable.

By day I'm a professional writer. My readers expect that they're going to be able to read what they purchase from the store. I expect the same thing of DA:2.

thought Ebgames was bought out by gamestop and now there all considered gamestop now and they dont hcarge till the game comes out says so on there website.. i sugest you remind them of that

Well, I am sorry but my Disability check doesn't go towards TV's. So, I am stuck with a game that I cannot play because I cannot read the text?! Great guys, thanks for the effin support!! After we all went out of our way to make sure that you all got your million downloads... Way to go Bioware!!!
I just wish that they had kissed me first!!!!

Me too, even though i already canceled my preorder. It is unacceptable that there is no answer from bioware on this. they're not even saying: Yeah, get a HDTV, font will be fine.
