Just finished playing all classes on xbox 360. ( All very good and unique + Archers are good )

1/ Found the graphics quite good but the enviorments were not,  but this is the demo so the final game might have more life to it?

2/ The voice acting/dialog was as good as i hoped (funny/sarcastic).

3/ Found the new menus and dialog wheel very easy to use.

4/ A nice bit more bite to the combat but the way the enemies explode so frequently is a joke, hopefully this is only with great powers in the final game.( its like fallout splatter comedy )

5/ I really hope auto attack is a toggle option in the final game because pressing A all the time was (a) boring and (B) reminded me of a hack and slash.

Overall i have to say i am looking forward to release as i know the story will be good and maybe some of the niggles mentioned above will not be present in the final game.  Can anyone confirm?

Great fun, but you couldn't have put a save game option in?

Would make that damned Ogre fight a little easier.

Oh, and if a million people download this, can we also get the inventory in the demo unlocked?. I dont like getting shiny new loot, and not be able to equip it. Im sure it wont happen, but it doesnt hurt to ask.

Dragon Age 2 is pretty much for all the people who dont like pausing during combat, or keep on killing their own party members with friendly fire because they suck that much.

wrong.
i did it (pause during the demo....not necessary i know!) and i didn't kill any.
if u can't do it w/o killing some1, don't blame the game. <3

I think you completely misuderstood what I wrote, but I wouldnt expect you to be able to understand such a simple point.

In Baldurs Gate / Dragon Age Origins, if you threw a fireball in the wrong place it could easilly wipe out your whole party.

In Dragon Age 2, all you have to do to win is fireball everything in sight. It doesnt matter if party members are nearby, there is no need for tactics or strategy at all, just point, click and win. Far too easy and incredibly boring.

On Normal difficulty perhaps, but in the actual game and on higher difficulty settings i am sure friendly fire will be on, use some common sence my friend, its just the demo on a set difficulty setting :P

Wow, fanboy zealots are out in force. Those on PC, loving the camera?

yes.
if u want to play more action u can, if u want to play more tactic u can pause and change char.
i don't miss da:o camera tbh.

I don't think it zooms out far enough, and I much prefer using the right mouse button to pan the camera around.  It feels more intuitive.

well point of view, anyway u can do that with the right mouse (or did i misunderstand what u mean?)

I mean holding the right mouse button down and moving the mouse to swivel the camera.  Doesn't work for me in the demo.  It just tries to "click" on the screen.   Have to use the A + D keys to pan around.

yea got it right then, i can do it... o.o

I must be going mad, just loaded it up again, and it was fine.

I need a drink....

Don't like the combat, prefered the previous versions. Can't see enough of the battlefield.

Visuals are stunning thought.

Have to play more to be able to jude dialog and character progression.

The death scenes were just horrible. I just met these characters five minutes ago and they've had 3 lines of dialogue. I don't need a cheesy, terribly acted death scene with somber music and prayers. What in the hell..

Why do all the female characters wear blush? What happened to Cassandra... why do her eyes look so bugged out now.

Why does the rogue... nevermind. The rogue animations are just horrendous, let's leave it at that.

Why is the art style so godawful... Flemeth, the Darkspawn, the Ogre.. Brown Mountain.. Barren City..

Why does it end with a trailer featuring white-haired Cassandra, and why are there framerate drops, long loading times and sound glitches.. christ.

I don't really mind the combat changes on the XBOX version, or the new talent webs (I actually prefer this to DA:O's), and I think the graphics on a technical level and cinematics are improved over DA:O but.... the writing and art direction has me really put off.

OMG, Anyone know why the graphics and performance suck so much?

IN DA1 I got 60fps constant on max graphics on 1920 resolution. Here I have to come down to 1280 resolution to even keep it playable (30-40fps).

Oh, and this with merely "high" graphics, because the demo doesn't support "very high"... From what I can see DAII is no better graphically than DAI at least on the demo settings, yet... the performance is so much worse.

Slightly incorrect.

The graphics in DAO are better than the graphics in DA2, and DA2 runs worse.

After playing the demo, I feel trolled. Almost as if someone has pulled a great prank on me. I have looked forward to this game, a lot, since I love Dragon Age origins. I can say that I do not look forward to the release any more. I will not say that it's a bad game. The fact that many seem to enjoy the demo clearly talks against such claims, but I cannot say that it's a good game either, since I experienced nothing such in the demo I tried.

To clarify things a bit. I like RPGs, like Fallout 3 and Oblivion. And I absolutely love RPGs like Mass Effect and Dragon Age Origins. But I have never been a fan of buttonmasher action games like God of War. And judging from this demo, Dragon Age 2 feels more related with that game, than with it's actual predecessor.

This was gravely disappointing.

Weird that the graphics were locked on medium if you ran with DX9, but everything was available settings wise if you toggled DX11. Looks rather decent on the highest. Big improvement from dao at any rate.

Interesting... That wasn't the case on my computer. When I set DX11 it still wouldn't let me choose "very high" and the last 2 graphical options were locked out.

Why disable the autoattack in the demo? Now we have no idea on how it'll play, which is kinda the point of a demo, isn't it? To get a feel for how a game plays? Just our luck, the full game will come out, people will turn on the toggle because that's how they prefer to play, and it'll be so much slower than the enemies attacks that you won't be able to win. Which'll ****** a lot of people off. I know it will me...

I'm on my fourth (360) playthrough now and the things that have impressed me the most are the art/graphics. Before I downloaded this demo, I was entirely skeptical on how the game would look visually. While it's certainly no Crysis, it's still quite nice and certainly not the eyesore I feared.

If I had to critique it, I fear that bashing A might feel more repetitive than the old one button attack and that there are a couple graphic hiccups even in the demo. I'm not a super strategic player though, so the combat changes were welcome.

Ultimately, all this demo has done is make me want the game now. So I suppose did it's job.

EDIT: Oh, another complaint is the female walk animation. What happened there? I understand wanting to make them look different, but... yeah. It's bizzare.

This game is awesome, nothing bad to say.

when I used backstab on some enemies it didnt teleport behind the enemy, might be cuz of some wall behind them.

Yea, and its really going to be fun to use without a camera that fully zooms out to allow you to get a top down view of the game.

Oh well I guess this game isn't for you. I don't mind people having different tastes, or pointing out legitimate flaws. Hopefully the full game balances these issues or designed the structure around the new playstyle.

There's no need to take this petulant, half sarcastic half temper tantrum attitude though. No-one is shooting you down to the degree with which you are overreacting.

Sigh, i just dont understand you people, the animations are faster but the gameplay is EXACTLY THE SAME as origins, you press whatever to attack, pause the game give your party members commands, plus the demo is on Normal difficulty.

Actually, I agree. I do think DAO graphics were better, I just didn't wanna say it and sound insane :D So I was kind and said "same graphics".

But if I'm honest DAII on the PC looks WORSE while performing worse. Its totally weird.

The demo caused that. As someone else said above, playing the demo made them feel trolled, which I agree with.

Excellent! Everything feels lovely and super crisp -- the battle system is responsive and just downright cool. No longer will I wail that a party member decided to take their sweet time drinking a potion despite being seconds away from death. It's a lot of fun!

I'm loving how the cutscenes look! The animation is lovely and organic -- watching Flemeth prowl her way towards the party was just excellent. Emotion is carrying through very nicely in both body language and facial expressions and is a huge improvement on DA:O. The envoirnments are appropriately dramatic -- the burning Blightlands as opposed to the rigid Kirkwall, ahh it's just so good!

I haven't got much to say on the content of the game since it was stuff I already knew. But! I am still super excited to see what happens in the small bits that we missed and onwards. Probably too excited.

All in all, very lovely! I've liked what I've seen so far and I can't wait for march 8th. (:

Playing on the PC here. Gameplay and performance is great, EXCEPT...

The performance is great otherwise, but it kinda gets annoying when the game freezes in it's tracks for a second or two EVERY TIME there is a conversation, and every time that a small cutscene plays.

It was especially noticeable for me in the scene where you meet Aveline and have a quick chat with her and Wesley. It seemed to seperately be loading every single line of dialogue: I pick a response -> freeze and load -> Hawke says it -> freeze and load -> Bethany adds something to Hawke's statement -> freeze and load -> Aveline retorts -> freeze and load -> dialogue wheel.

Now, if my performance was sub-par throughout I wouldn't be too shocked to see this but the game runs like a charm otherwise. Hopefully this is an issue that's somehow caused by snipping this demo portion from the full game. Either that or I hope the devs are hard at work getting a release day patch ready to fix this.

Now that I've got the ****ing out of the way, I'll just say that the game is a lot of fun and I can see what they meant now when saying that the combat feels different from Origins but simultaneously very much the same. The cooldowns are going to take some time to get used to, but all the talents and spells I've seen seem useful, varied and fun to use.

The constant loading just gets on my nerves when I could be enjoying and immersing myself in the game, and instead I get dialogue with awkward and weird pauses instead when I know it'd be all good once that's fixed.
