For the most part I am talking about the demo. Secondly, that is your opinion and you're entitled to it.
Mostly you are just mocking people who disagree with you.

I wouldnt call it mocking. Again, you're entitled to that opinion if it pleases you.

I understand that everyone has a different opinion and not everyone is going to agree with the opinion of someone else but the amount of insulting going on in this thread is horrible. Is it really that difficult to act mature and have civil discussions?
maybe there should be "fighting thread" somewhere

What's with all the hate on Male Hawke? He was just as good as the female hawke and in some ways better. (Snarky options sounded way more natural coming from him then female hawke.) This is also just a demo so I'm not going to base the actors on their performance in a demo for the full game.
Honestly, I enjoyed Garret's VA more than I do MaleShep's voice actor which is one of the things I was worried about before playing the demo. I havent played FemHawke so I cant really judge her performance but Ill be able to once my wife starts playing lol

I really disagree. I think Maleshep was great and MaleHawke a bit dull. I liked female Hawke better though, But i doubt I will be playing female since I´m not so secure in my manliness that I can prance around in a dress.

That's kind of my sentiments, only flip it around lol...I personally thought MaleShep was a bit flat and dull where as I thought Garret was pretty good. Not great mind you, but good. I've definately seen better voice acting in all regards to both games lol. For me, after playing Two Worlds 1, as long as the voice acting never sinks to that level again, it's passable

Why restrict the camera so much?
Alright, I could understand the desire to, I guess, "have ceilings" which I read a developer having said somewhere (although I can't quite understand why they said that, since I clearly remember ceilings in DA:O). Regardless though, why can I not move the camera around freely instead of it being stuck to the character I have selected. In DA:O I could always see what the other party members were up to - always - and that is why I preferred a PC version in the first place (since expecting a view like Baldur's Gate).
Why would I want to get into a situation where I can only see what the character I have selected is doing - the only remedy being to then jump over to another character on the other side of the area, which in turn makes me unable to see the first. Obviously I could spin the camera to look behind the character I have selected, but again this is only honing my restricted view elsewhere anyways.
I see others commenting on not seeing darkspawn coming up behind them - which I get the impression seems odd to them. Of course it would feel odd - it is a fundamentally different experience from playing DA:O (I'm not speaking for console versions, I have a strict PC-only choice for what I consider top-view rpgs).
To me the solution for this doesn't have to be a higher view (although obviously that is preferred and mourned) but why not just allow a free-roaming camera? I cannot really comprehend why that would be taken away, ceilings argument and all.
Besides this large issue, and the sad lack of spells (even though I don't play as a mage) and overhaul of a perfectly fine DA:O tactics menu, I will still buy and enjoy the game - it just bewilders me that the camera system has gotten so restrictive. I mean what is the point of having a party of characters pulling badass moves if you miss them most of the time?

If DA2 sells well then the origins gameplay and realism is gone forever. Yes I know it's fantasy but you can bet if they had this crap in mass effect ppl wouldn't stand for it. If you want bioware to make DA: origins 2 then DONT buy DA2.
If only that would work. If DA2 doesn't sell (and let's be realistic, it probably will sell) BioWare will probably never make a DA game again. So it's very likely either this kind of game or no kind of game. I don't care actually, because both options are equaly bad for me.
All those who like: Go ahead, have fun.
And we will have fun. Because if the BW team didnt agree with those that are liking the game, they'd have probably left combat etc. the exact same as in Origins. BW is doing what Turbine/WB started doing with LotrO in it's most recent "years". Giving the "extremist minorities" the proverbial finger and doing what they think is best for the game. And if it roots out those few whiners, then so be it because their profits wont be hurt enough for them to actually give a damn lol.
You know, I find your comment insensitive bordering downright rude. I resent being called a whiner. My issue with DA2 isn't the combat. I don't give a rat's tail-end about combat. I find combat of any persuasion boring, and if I can't handle it, I turn on the god-mode and that's that. I have issues with the voiced character and the dialogue wheel. I have issues with the overt sexualisation of the female characters. I have issues with the flat portrayal of the characters - Hawke's "meh" reaction to the death of their sibling comes to mind. I don't know if you have any brothers or sisters - but I sure would show more emotion, should I watch my brother die. I feel cheated because the possibility of my character showing said emotion has been taken away from me.
How, pray tell, is that "extremist"?
Bioware devs did the same thing with the Cousland character in DAO. When she (I only play females) gets to Ostagar, she looks more keen on revenge than mourning her own family. When Duncan is talking Calain, she stands there with her arms crossed and an angry look on her face not an ounce of sadness over the loss of her family is shown anywhere except for the brief one minute before Duncan pulls her away and they weren't dead yet. I think the Ser Gilmore mod did more to show emotion the character felt than Bioware did with the game. The only origins I truly felt showed emotion were the elf origins. Hopefully they will release a toolset once we get the game in our hands so we can fix the issues because there are major issues.

Apart from that though i though the demo worked really well i especially enjoyed getting a taste of the friendship/rivalry system which seemed much more enjoyable and realistic to th social situation of the games characters.

Forgot to mention that demo on normal was very easy and hope this is fixed.
Actually, I found it to be "about right". It is, after all, the "normal" setting. You want "harder", crank up the setting once the full game hits.

That takes me back. I remember seeing a few awful cutscenes, running down a slope and then exiting to the dashboard. I was too embaressed to play the game in front of my wife with that voice acting.

I love the changes to the combat! It's much more fluid and fun now, and I really like the variety of animations for the different abilities and spells. Seeing as the combat is much faster now it's a good thing you added the ability to target the nearest enemy and attack (default "R" on PC). It's also great to see (although I never had any doubts) that you kept the good tactical aspects of combat from Origins - like being able to pause and issue orders etc.
One concern for me about the combat is the difficulty though. The demo was locked at normal, and being as I am familiar with how to play Dragon Age (settings up tactics, pause and issue orders etc) it felt somewhat too easy. So I will be playing the game on hard for my first playthrough and I'm hoping it is, as Mike Laidlaw said in an interview, a really solid challenge.
The graphics are not neccessarily what makes a good game for me, although I appreciate the work and effort you have made to make DA2 look better, and it sure does look better. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out when I get the full game with DX11 and settings on full etc.
Where others see the starting area as bland and boring (and thus complaining about the graphics or attention to detail) I understand the story behind it. The blight destroys the land as it passes through and you can really see that if you stop to look (although I don't really understand why you would stop to look at the scenery, I mean you're running for your lives
I also love the music, the sound-effects and the voice-acting. All those battle-cries and grunting during combat really serves to bring you into the fight, you become more emotionally engaged. The "intent-icons" is a good addition that helps you see at an instant what tone you will have in your reply. I was also pleasently surprised that the tone you choose also remains in the "automatic follow-up answer" you sometimes give. It's also good to see that your companions seem to take part more in the dialog now instead of just standing there like mute observers. I'm hoping they will continue to do so in the rest of the game as well.
And of course I love the voice of Lady Hawke!
The new ability-tree is a fine addition. You have removed many useless abilities and the ones that are left feel really useful and worth picking up. You didn't really have many different ways to go in terms of where to put your ability points in the demo, but I suspect that is because several of the ability-trees are locked for the demo. I am hoping you will have a much broader choice as to where to put your ability-points in the full game.
Good changes as well for the classes. What little you get the chance to play them, they all seem fun in their own respective role.
Thank you again for the demo and I just want to say I have faith in you Bioware, as I've always had ever since the first Bioware-game I played - Baldur's Gate 1 and 2.

Thats about what I did lol...Although, I played for about 2-3 hours more hoping things would get better. Sadly, they did NOT lol. That's why you will RARELY hear me saying anything about voice acting. When a game's voice acting is THAT bad, it's time for something to be done hehe

I have completed the dragon age 2 demo, where can I find the unlocking codes?
In your profile under "registered game promotions" or something like that. You wont actually get the codes until the game releases in a couple of weeks.
