But, the wording is still way to small for me to read. My vision is poor and they could make the words and symbols much bigger than they are so people can read them plainly so they know what to do. How about putting a "Larger Print" option the the options menu? Thank you.

about the armor comment. you will be able to change it in the full version
I think you can for the main character, but the companions will have their own set appaearance which you can't change as much. Kinda like Mass Effect, then.
Edit: (I'm pretty sure I heard that in Mike Ladlaw's Q&A videos)

Nice demo, although I dont really like the new arcade-feeling of the game. Is the mage some kind of stick-dancer? Silly movement when just using the staff.
Hard to describe exactly what I mean, but the feel is less "mature" and more moving-and-jumping-around-like-a-rubber-spiderman.
And please, no button-mashing. I hope there will be an option for that.
For consoles the demo locked the auto attack option...for what reason idk

just tested the demo on PC, and sadly to say it felt rather bad
here are just some major issues I had with this game:
1. game feels and looks like it was made for consoles - every aspect of interface is better suited for them
(inventory is locked but I have seen enough to get an idea how it's gonna work)
2. combat sucks big time, game feels like cheap hack and slash
(also, I played as a mage and noticed that there is no friendly fire for area based spells??? )
3.you can not zoom far out to get a wider look ??
definately not going to buy this game
Just to let you know that Friendly Fire is or will be available on harder settings. The Demo was set to Normal.
I played the PC version and the Xbox 360 version of the demo. Both felt vastly different from one another, but to me the PC version felt exactly like DA:O. Just my opinion on the latter.

I played the Demo on both the xbox and ps3 consoles and have noticed a couple of things that really stood out. Perhaps it is just inside the demo, but the picture looks better on X-Box compared to the blurs I am getting from ps3 demo, and the xbox version loads quicker. Those things said, I can begin the novel.
Voice Acting: Love. The fact that the PC has a voice and more than 'blank-stare' expression one-point-o, makes the main character immensely more immersive imo. As far as Hawke saying the wrong thing, or not what you expected from the dialogue wheel, that is why the colours (Blue, violet, red) were implemented. The on-screen text is just a summary of what you're going to say. Personally never had the problem in the demo or Mass Effect, but hey. Interpret as you will.
Combat: Much better, more fluid. I did not enjoy clunkily walking up to an enemy like I had a sore back in DA: O. Movement speed during battle keeps up with how fast you want to move in 2, and instead of having to turn ALL the way around to shoot an enemy and get lined up, it's nice just being able to whip around and attack.
Bethany/Carver: Didn't affect me with their deaths, but greatly looking forward to how different it makes the story upon which one lives. Looking forward to seeing their characters develop, but honestly more affected by Wesley's death than my sibling being thrown into the haymaker.
Mashing: So to speak. It feels more like Star Wars, yes, but its a better aspect. On the whole, it makes the battle feel more immersive, and hey. Sure youre button mashing while something cools down, but previously you got to watch the button fade-in. Either one is fine.
Right Over the Head: Sometimes things go right over mine too. As this is a demo, however, I am in an implied facepalm state at the people who fail to realize that you are being shown the intro and a later quest you CAN do in the actual game. Being saved by flemeth and then being in a bar with Isabela obv. do not happen in sequence.
Hawke: I still feel that hawke is genuinely MY character. It will probably feel better on a lot of people when they can actually customize the face. The Character needed a name to be referenced to, and you can't just be called "The Warden" or "The Commander" evidently, as that's not what the character is, as it was in Origins. You can still change your first name. The biggest aspect I believe taking people away from feeling it is THEIR character, is the fact that there's a voice. Which just as many people wanted to begin with.
Misc: Glad to have a helmet toggle option and better looking hairstyles. Very glad mage outfits have been revamped, (the 3 styles in origins were ridiculous.) Looking forward to seeing how herp-derp I can make the family with Hawke customizations! Loving that I am not decked out like Edward Cullen during cutscenes with bard songs, but the effect is still in play during a fight!
Complaints: Small text, readable but have to strain for it. Wishing Isabela wore pants. Fem Hawke's walk/run has far too much booty-shaking. Prefer the rump to stay put. Was hoping for a romanceable dwarf option, (male or female), and slightly dismayed that I can not have a mage/mage rivalry with the sister. Why does flemeth look hotter than my pc in origins now?
Basically, what it all adds up to is this.
The people complaining about this, that, and what have you, I can garuntee complained about the same things not being involved in the first DA, dlc's, and expansion. The things a lot of people asked for to be included in the next DA have been, and people still complain. It is a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation for any game developer. There will always be people who agree and do not agree. A gaming company that takes risks is nicer than the same thing over and over again. At least Bioware actually pays attention to their forums.
It's like the people who said Awakenings wasn't worth a dime because there was no romance options. Haters are gonna' hate.
Biggest Question I have, why was the darkspawn changed from dark to cream? That ogre has a better complexion than me! Not game breaking, but visually, a huge difference.

Once I started getting used to the rogue, I found it quite fun. Mage felt weak. It seemed like sitting their shooting with the staff doing bugger all damage, or pull too many off the tanks with an aoe spell and then have to run around because the mind blast spell is still on cooldown from the last fireball. Must say, I did like the firestorm spell though.
Combat was a little too hard (mobs moving too fast) for me personally to properly target. Doesn't really bother me because I always use the pause anyway. Hawke stands around like an idiot when knocked back, like the Warden. Auto-attack is on, it works fine, but when he gets knocked back you have to reclick to attack the ogre you are one step away from. Sometimes the ogre even moved closer, and Hawke didn't even need to move. Just needed to be told to attack again.
Very much looking forward to playing the full game, more so than when I first pre-ordered.
Edit: Oh, and Carver was pathetic. He kept dying as I wasn't paying attention. The squishy mage Bethany didn't even need that.

Dialogue wheel, complete with symbols letting you know the tone of your response. Especially the snarky/silly responses.
Flemeth. Nice to see she can go full on evil disney witch if she feels like it.
Writing. The characters I saw were both believable and a heck of a lot of fun, especially Varric.
Things I didn't like:
New darkspawn designs. It's really the hurlock's teeth for me; at first I thought they were devouring skeletons.
Combat speed. One of the things I liked in DA:O was the combat speed, I thought it was just right. New combat feels arcadey to me, really fast but threatening verisimilitude to achieve the speed.
Things I'm on the fence about:
enemy hit point values: I tried both sword & board, and 2-hander, in both cases it seemed that if I wasn't burning abilities enemies took FOREVER to die. Then again, I wasn't running out of stamina very often.

While it's still going to be faster than DAO, I've read that the speed has been reduced a little for the final release.

Seems to be the same edge detection issue from the 1st game. When I backflipped the rogue on the rubble (fighting the enemy archers), the PC was stuck behind the rubble. Also, there were quite a few incidents where the PC was running in place, going nowhere.

I played it on Xbox 360
The Good
- Combat system is enjoyable, looks nice, and finally crossbow is useful.
- Spellcasting looks great.
- Music is brilliant.
- Flemeth is cool. And please people keep in mind, that Flemeth is a shapeshifter, like Morrigan.
- The mimics and body language improved a lot.
- The NPCs have style.
- Our hero is fleeing from Lothering, but the landscape is not like the Ferelden countryside.
- Dialogues are short!! (And it's frustating that I don't know what I'm going to say.)
- The death of the husband of Aveline compaired to the death of Khalid in BG2 is not a well designed moment.
- I miss the execution of the enemies like it was in DAO.
- After I confirmed the changes of abilities and proceeded to the skills, I can not go back to change my decison about the abilities.
- The graphics are a bit like anime graphics, and I don't like that japanese style. Otherwise it is nice.
- Darkspawns look like undeads.

- Battle speed is a little too frantic for my taste.. Generally what was done I find good (better animations etc.), but it does feel a little too chaotic. And yes I was using space (pause), but the game isnt very fluid when you pause it every second for 5 seconds.
- Healing / potions cooldown. 60 seconds, are you serious ? Bad enough I have to fight the characters to make them take a potion but this cooldown makes healing spell utility dubious at best.
- Game just feels like a console port (PC). I have no problems with consoles (own a few), but (and I know it's subjective) but the pc version does feel like an afterthought.
Overall this demo has both amazed and underwhelmed me, and left me back stting on the fence about any purchase.

the only drawback is no auto-attack
also lagged tactics menu
otherwise it's awesome
where are all the people who commented on the sacred ashes trailer "shame none of that is in the game"
Garrus indeed does love porn

+ Liked the faster-paced combat while keeping the tactical option in.
+ Liked female Hawke's voice acting! I have yet to try male Hawke.
- I didn't like the new UI at all! I loved the medieval feel of DA:O's UI, with its colors, fonts, flourishes, torn pages, grit, and all that. I missed the old map. I want the UI to match the game theme! Clunky, bloody armor, rusty chains, stuff like that! DA2's UI is kept minimal (which is good for a larger viewing area of the actual game) but it lacked character, and felt so cold and antiseptic. Part of immersion actually gone.
- I didn't like the dialogue wheel. I tried to, but I still prefer the wall-of-text dialogue of DA:O. There was no second guessing there what my PC would say when I click an option. (Too bad, there's voice acting and it would be redundant to keep the old dialogue options.)
- I don't know if it's only on my end, but when I use a skill (like Mighty Blow), my PC stops attacking after doing it. I have to click the enemy again to resume attacks. Am I doing something wrong?

This is pathetic in terms of what it should be, and that's not an opinionated fact.
It's all very VERY obvious.
The only saving grace is that it's a demo, but the fact the game went gold and that the demo probably isn't TOO OLD... well...

Mehh...Of course you dont, its a bloddy demo. It was not supposed to give away huge portions of the story. Its not supposed to answer those questions. As for the unite under your banner thing..What a piece of bull. Peple have been uniting under other peoples banners for thousands of years for a huge number of reasons, small and large. People like to follow. That said, how do you know there isnt a very good reason for people to be following you? Things MAY(I know this is crazy) happen in the game that explains these things, make them logical and realistic.
I like the more personal approach, I am a little tired of saving the world from some outside threat all the time.
Ok lets look at Mass Effect 2's demo, bam, your told what you need to know and why Shepard is importantant in the first 15 minutes.
Or the commercial trailer, your told what you need to know all in 3 minutes. The commercials for Origins were the same way, dispite what you may think of Marilyn Manson.
Saving the world may be an old hat, but its an effective one for getting the point accross.
And yeah maybe they have a good logical explanation for all of this, but all I am getting is, "your character is important...because...we say so."
From the commercials I've seen and the Demo I've played I'm just not getting the same sense of epic adventure that I got from the promo material for Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age Origins. Sorry but I'm just not feeling it here.

I may sound like a console kiddie but I have origins for both PC and console.
The combat is fluid and over the top (I mean that in a good way). No more awkward pauses or getting into the pre-set position to attack.
Well done Bioware.

The most controversial change, the combat, didn't bother me at all. I always felt like DA:O was a bit sluggish in its combat so I welcome this change. I also liked the fact that warriors and rogues aren't homogenous anymore (that is to say, a warrior and a squishy warrior who can pick locks). I found mages to be the funnest in DA:O and this was the case in the demo too, but less drastically so.
The conversation wheel wasn't hindering my time with the demo. I'm not going to say that it's a 'good' addition, but I think it's the best choice if you're going to have your main character voice acted (which is great). I doubt anyone would actually like to first read the dialogue in full and then hear it.
The voice actor for Male Hawke was adequate whereas the female voice actor was simply great. This seems to be a common trend among Bioware games.
My main problem with the DA2 has for a long time been the UI and the general artstyle of item icons and such. While the UI feels more functional, it seems like the aesthetics have been completely abandoned from it. Right now it looks blocky and unfinished. The item icons I could've made with photoshop in 10 minutes, they are way too simplistic. I know it's functionality over aesthetics but you shouldn't have to completely abandon the latter.
And while on aesthetics, the change of look for the darkspawn isn't a positive one. They look less vile, disgusting and something you should be scared of. They look like skinny, pointy, undead-goblins.
