How  did you manage to watch and enjoy finishing moves like decapitations and such when  using the top down camera and your characters are really small and you couldn't see the full details close up?

Maybe some of us aren't so motivated by watching ketchup being sprayed around?

Ok. just finished the demo and I cannot think anything else than...... WTF Bioware?
What are you doing with Dragon Age? Almost everything looks like if it was done in a rush...

The UI is terrible, the textures are bad and seriously I can't run the game with high graphics becouse I don't have direct x 11 supporte on my graphics card??? By the way the graphics looks the same as in DA:O with the exception of the foregrounds/landscapes.

One more thing that I find toooooo much anoying... what is that dancing thing that the mage do to attack?
I mean this is not DJ or Dance Hero, but my mage keeps jumping and making 'balé' moves in a repetitive order that no one would make when fighting... nonsense, why can't he justo shoot with his staff, old school style....

On the other side the story looks great, amazing indeed...

Anyways, this is my impressions on the game, and I hope the final version is not like the demo becouse I'm a long term fan of your titles (since Baldur's Gate).

so this is what i have been reading lately.....DA2 console users are going to most likely going to get this game. But any PC users are not. once again if you have read in gameinformer where they had introduced BF3 you would have read that they had geared the game more toward console users.

My experience has been exactly the opposite.  The console version seems like a weak God of War clone to me.

Because that "old-school" animation is boring and un-epic. :B

detoni.dougla s, I am with you on this totally. I have played almost all of there games and was a big fan of theirs.
This demo seems like the game will be a total sell out. The whole thing is so shallow it is down right boring.
No more tactics required just hit attack over and over. How quickly the battles end- in the demo I didn't even need to switch party members for there special abilities and your choice of dialogue or tone seems to make no difference.

The last few pages have a lot of negative thoughts from PC gamers, yes.

I don't know about the previous 200.

Played on both the PC and Xbox 360 I enjoyed all three classes. When a siblings dies, it felt a bit flat. In the escape from Lothering the characters would sometime try to leap in to battle if the enemy was in the right place and get stuck on the environment and I also noticed when using fireball and I assume possibly other ground oriented AoEs that the AI would target the ground instead. Playing with Aveline it was hard to tell if she was properly activating and deactivating her skills with the surround enemies preset ended using the X number of enemies alive tactic, seemed to work better but she wouldn't throw it back on during re-enforcements and had a hard time working with taunt as well. I just went to manual using it. Aside from the tactics screen bugs and sometime choppy framerate on the X60 it was a really satisfying demo. I like the new menu UI especially the character sheets. The combat felt smooth on both systems. My computer ran the game well even on the buggy DX11 version. Thank you for the Demo Bioware

ooo I see... than epic is like dancing while you hit a darkspawn with a lot of bright glowing and fancy magic.... is this type of animation that young console players like?

The fire doesn't even look like fire damn... :)

i had the same reaction to DA2 on the 360 that i had to DAO on the 360, and the same reaction to DA2 on the PC that i had to DAO on the PC... so i'm still getting it on the PC, it's just more intuitive to go between characters with a space bar + mouse than trigger + stick and i enjoy a wider view

i'm not one to scream because i didn't get super-zoom out or because i might have to pause more often on higher difficulties

I'm really not getting this 'designed for controllers' vibe, and no one's being specific about it.

Other than dialogue wheels I don't see it.

For me it's about needing to constantly adjust the camera and how much easier that is to do, while still fighting, on a controller. On DAO you could pull the camera back and see the whole battlefield and not have to adjust the camera until the batte was over.

Same here... funny how people are ticked off by an unobtimized snapshot of a game that says nearly nothing about the final product...

I already read a full review (realease game fully played through) of the game on a german gaming mag (GAMESTAR) and it seems not that much different from DAO. The only real negative points they mentioned are:

- Shorter (around 15 houres without sidequests) and less epic then Origins, but most likely expanded with DLC.
- More level recycling then in part one because the games setting is very localized to Kirkwall and surroundings.

I can live with that. ;-)

Disappointed in general. I knew they were going to gear it more towards consoles, but I feel they went too far. The combat was no where near as tactical as DA:O, which was one of the things that I loved about the original. If I wanted to right-click, push a button, wait for a cool-down, push another button I would load up Diablo 2 or maybe Torchlight.
Other than being set in the Dragon Age universe I don't really consider it a sequel to DA:O. If they would've marketed this as a hack'n slash game in the Dragon Age universe rather than a sequel then I wouldn't be disappointed, I just would've stayed away. That being said, I will be playing it, mainly because I fully paid for the pre-order. I wish I would've gotten it for the Xbox though as playing it on a PC will just seem kind of sad after DA:O.
One thing for sure, my days of blindly pre-ordering games just because they are from BioWare are over.

1) The demo is supposed to be representative of the final product which is why people think that it is representative of the final product. Do tell, why would Bioware release a non-representative demo?

2) So you trust a review you READ over a demo that you PLAYED.

For God sake, can't we disagree about a video game, even vehemently, without insulting each other? This is getting ridiculous.

Uh, doesn't that perfectly describe DAO's early combat too? You were just as limited in your options at the beginning of the game.

Didn't see one, but I hope the mage hats (aka "dunce caps") from DAO are banished and never to return.
