I am very very very interested in having my main issue answered (granted I have a few).

I would very much appreciate it if someone from BioWare could tell me what is up with the way the fire effects and explosion work, because it seems very sickly, ungainly, unrealistic, and an eyesore to look at, and I am 100% certain I am not seeing fire any differently than anyone else and I have a top-gen system.

Is this the final look of fire in this build? Because I must be honest in that it is very disgusting to look at.

Hoping that this is fixed:

in the demo, the knife used by archers in close combat dissapears throughout the animation... only sometimes seeable and looks like the archers are B-slapping their foes ...

@vandervell:

Dislikes no. 3: in DA:O Morrigan said she does not believe that Flemeth would stay dead if we killed her, probably she will loose her powers for some time. And in the timeline of the demo I would say it is placed shortly after the party in DA:O has left Lothering. So it is possible for her to appear in this demo. But I don't know if she will part of the story later in the full version.

99,999% of the negative opinions have nothing to do with the Demo being too easy. We all know that difficulty is LOCKED at Normal. Neither with the graphics being lowered by the DX11 not working on the demo (The Demo clearly says that using Dx11 option causes performance issues that will not be present in the release version). Nor even with the auto-attack not being present in the console version of the Demo. It clearly says that retil version will have it functional for the console as well.

BULL.    You  simply haven't read  the comments on this thread.  There are dozens upon Dozens of people  here who have utterly damned the game (not just the demo) for being too easy.   Why would they do such a thing if they Knew the difficulty for the demo was locked on normal?

And Dozens of Dozens  more have began their posts by harping on  the graphics by flat out saying:  "Um, ok, I had everything set on high, I had Direct x11 checked on... yet the graphics look terrible!  (one guy even posted a closeup shot of Hawke and mocked the game for  containing no  AA.  again, why would  these people say stuff like that if they knew that  the high settings were  disabled for this demo?)

No, man.  As much as you WANT to  portray  99% of the gripes here as 'valid criticism', the fact of the matter is that a HUGE chunk of them WERE NOT.

Seriously CUT OUT the arguing. This thread is for feedback, good or bad. The devs can decide for themselves whether it's valid criticism or not. There's no need for the constant gainsaying of people's posts. This isn't aimed just at Yrkoon. This is a message for everyone.

Played it for two times, but didn't get my "Hayder's Razor". WTF? :(

Feedback:
now there are no differences between classes. Seems like you ply some hack-n-slash
and not RPG with tactics. Very pity.

2) TARGET LOCK - Now that auto-attack is gone I'm having difficulty keeping focus on the target I want. I frequently use the right-stick to pan around and assess the battlefield but now my guy changes targets when I do so. If you're going to go for an 'action-rpg' than you need some of the basic controls every action game has; target lock.

That indeed would be nice.

Push your left thumbstick in. It'll lock target or unlock if you have one locked. Same on PS3.

In the Witch Hunt DLC Morrigan states that it is Flemeth we need fear not her, and that she believes Flemeth is as dead as her or I, and that change is coming to the world. Was more indepth than I've explained, but that's the gist of it, so I'd say she'd be a big part of the Dragon Age 2 story. My opinion anyway...

Have you checked the registered items on the website? As long as it registered it should be in the full-game.

Of course, but in my list only “Hindsight” and “Staff of Parthalan” are mentioned.

The point you run into Flemeth in the demo is before you would have had the opportunity to complete Morrigan's quest.  Obviously, whether she remains dead or not is still up for discussion.

I found myself constantly pausing the DA2 demo to issue commands and fiddle with the tactics. Perhaps becuase I didn't have the most efficient tactics mapped out yet but still...

why? u can run the demo just attacking with main character and spam abilities that have (nearly) no cooldown, excepts for the heal (wich is quite ETERNAL)

i play the 3 classess on pc, and the 3 again on xbox.... on xbox is like devil may cry... that is NOT an rpg

the game is mass effect 2 with mages... BUT mass effect is sci-fi, shooting rpg, and action it's ok... dragon age would be a FANTASY game

bioware (or Dioware, as i call it (dio is italian for god)), please: abandon electronic arts... PLEASE

Because if I didn't the Ogre would have killed my party members. Even when I did play through the first 2 times it killed Carver. I did not find it ANY easier than DA:O or Awakenings... Maybe I am just a terrible player? Or maybe I am the standard player that games companys develop for?

Although I did think that Rogue did feel a bit OP and I wasn't a big fan of the gymnastics. I won't be playing Rogue though so I don't care.

I have no experience on xbox so can't comment.

Mass Effect 2 with Mages?? Seriously?? Its seems a lot more like DA:O with faster combat animations to me...

I've read you can upload an Origins save and a Witch Hunt save, and the decisions made within those saves will affect the game. But we'll see...

They will - But regardless of what you did, Flemeth will be at that point seeing it was impossible for you to kill her yet.

I have played once now each class. The mage seems the favorite of the devs as it has the more flashy style to it, and the rogue special moves are good. Basic combat is very cartoony similar in style to TMNT or out of the movie Big Trouble in Little China. Very clumsy looking and got old fast. Flemeth's story line (of what I saw) was interesting, but the rest was fairly blah. Isabela has a boring plot line. I saw the freeing slaves bit from a mile away making that part very predictable and boring. I would have been more impressed if she had been double crossed while doing her own double cross. However, the write for her character picked the old tried and true boring plot that made me lose interest in her character. The loss of a sibling...again tried and true and boring. Very predictable. All in all I give the demo a 7.9 after three plays. There is nothing outside of Flemeth that generates any excitement for me in DA2. Perhaps the focus on being a console game is part of it (I have never played console games due to lack of real depth in them), and the demographics being a younger audience, but this demo just feels like a lot of flash and no substance. Flashy graphics and stale story make for a decent game, but not great. I am hoping the full version has something, but if the demo is any indication, DA2 will be another good genre gone bad. There's still the hope that HL2E3 will come out this year.

I'm wondering if you will be able to auto level your party members. I couldn't find an option for it in the demo, but maybe I missed it.

Just installed, played and finished the demo. So far, i'd have to say i'm liking what i see, but there are three things i'm not that pleased with.

I. Races: Short and simple, i dislike being forced to play a human. I work in a store, i see enough of them irl without wanting to play one in a game as well. DA has several options to choose from in this regard (Elf, Dwarf, Darkspawn in RtO, possibly Qunari in II), and even without each of them having their own Origin story it's still fairly easy to have some minor adjustments to allow for this. This is, of course, assuming the character doesn't refer to him or herself as a human a lot. You could even use the same voice files.

II. Camera: Isometric was nice because it allowed you to see a lot of what happened behind you. Without it, an option to have the camera facing whatever it is you targeted would be rather nice without having to resort to pausing every 3-5 seconds to adjust the camera. The Ogre in the demo isn't that hard to beat, but i'd want to keep an eye on how close that Act Boss is if i'm playing a squishy mage.

III. Friendly Fire: Several times in the demo, my tactics were to send in some melee troops, have the enemy gather around her and fire off the Area Spells of Fiery Death. The party members on Meatshield Duty didn't seem to mind much, i assume they'll take damage from (deliberately) badly aimed fireballs, Rain of Arrows and similar techniques in higher difficulty settings?

My two cents :)

Only on Nightmare, apparently. All other settings have no FF.

I'll take that as a yes then... Easier modes are for enjoying the scenery
