My two cents for console vs pc from the demo thus far;
quick heal and attacking on the pc are annoying. takes a few tries to actully get them to heal. ranged attacking is annoying.. hate having to kep pause and find a target.
Also, why do you have to wait to heal?, im dieing now... not 30 seconds later :P not that 5 health pots last agains a ogre (which looks kinda rubibsh next to the ogre in origins)
On console you gotta keep taping attack, that means you aint gonna be able to get more than 2-3 hours a week in without your thumb falling off. perhaps there is an option to change this... idk.

On the possitve side, i love the new darkspawn. they actully look the part now i think, they looked like freaky bondage clowns or something before imo. cant wait to see a new broodmother
love the fact your char has a voice, not sure about what the difference is between each on the dialog choces... i miss the good ole' 4 levels ceo.... what ever it is lol, dunno if they pass or fail... or just blah
new staffs and daggers are hawt, but you only get to see one finishing move per weapon, and there only for bosses..?? i was hopeing there would be some darkspawn stabbing, ripping and such

Is hard to say how the game will differ from the demo thou.. from my experiance they differ a great deal. for better or for worse... who knows?
Console seems to be the better choice imo. easier to play... if you have good strong joints in your thumb.

either way, why does europe get the game 3 days after everyone else? :(
It's cos' were pasty white, init? ^_^ or is it because you want make sure the game works and is extra awsome before we get it?

Obviously I don't work for Bioware. I am just look at quality of their products as a customer. Look at the low scores all the DLCs got at review sites. Not even awakening got close to score of original game.

It's consistently clear from this thread that console players and those that don't care about combat having any tactical elements whatsoever will probably love DA2 while the rest of us will hate it.  Bioware made DA:O as a PC game first, ported to the consoles.  The combat, art design and decreased graphic fidelity show that DA2 is a console game first, ported to the PC.  I don't know of any successful game that followed this approach, and many that failed because of it.

I'll be saving my money for Skyrim, among other things.

I hate how people can make assumtions like this about console gamers. I'm sorry that if I have the option to play a 60+ hr game on either my couch with a large tv or sit at my desk I choose my couch. I truely enjoyed DAO and the only complaint I had about the combat was that it was to easy. I beat the game on nightmare my first play through, I did need to drop it down to hard for a bit of the rogue origin though.

I also find it funny that you criticize the graphics, yet you state you're saving your money for Skyrim. I save my money by not buying anything by Bethesda till they learn how to animate.

Well, you can play the PC version on your couch in front of an HDTV, I am typing this in my recliner now. Some games even offer controller support so you can still use your 360 controller while getting better grpahics, shorter load times and mods to boot. Also, PC's don't get the RRoD. LOL

That can't be right. REAL game developers want to live under a viaduct drinking meths and basking in the glory of the undying love of their fans as they themselves starve to death. They care not for this thing called profit. This ... is what you want, right Bio? Right?

Edit: I apologise for my snark.

This is complete nonsense. Watching the credits would show you that many of the same staff worked on both games.

So how can they miss something so basic as overhead tactical camera? They knew PC users mostly use that view...

They said many times that it didn't work with the art direction they were going for in DA2.

I have the impression that all the positive reviews have deserted this topic. No doubt that people happy with the demo, keep quiet satisfied and eagerly await their game and moved on to something else lol. :D

Rather than speaking of bioware and if you concentrate on what you don't like in  Da2 and what you'd prefer. For the combat system ? What do you wish you had for example? You wanted the same as in dao  and awakening ? Seriously ?

How not to appear to give the same thing, especially in that awakening, it was clearly felt that it was starting to tire level innovation and creativity.

That is just a shield to hide behind. The console implementation of origins game did not have tactical camera (don't know why). Since DA2 was developed for console, it does not have it either. Simple. Posted Image

BTW, don't get me wrong. I am not trying to bash the company. It is a great company... a pioneer. I want them to stay that way. Posted Image

It was stable and made a decent profit, but EA went "hrm, four years of dev time and only this much?" Lets cut the dev time to less than 2 and try to sell 10 million copies, cause we're jackasses.

Since my thread got locked in a matter of minutes i will post my opinion here and hope it won't get buried under all the comments.

I was sceptical from the very moment i saw how the action was going to be in DA 2, and after i played the demo i have to say I'm not going to buy it, even though I'm an avid fan of everything that has to do with Dragon Age.

When i saw the rogue jumping, or the warrior with the two handed sword swinging it like a dagger i was highly dissapointed. I actually liked the combat as it was in Dragon Age 1, I'm not a PC elitist or a hardcore DnD fan, but when they said the action would be more fluid I wasn't expecting action from a hack n' slash game like Devil may cry. OK I'm exagarating but I felt the moves in the first part had more force and momentum behind it, it was a bit more slower paced but it fit in the whole universe of DA, while all the moves in the second part are out of place and too fast for a spiritual succesor to Baldur's gate.

The second biggest thing that bugged me was the voice-acting. Every character that I heard in the demo didn't have a voice that would actually make me feel like I could like them as a person. Even the voice of the main character felt emotionless. The graphics were never a problem in a RPG for me, especially for DA:O which had good characters and an amazing story to compensate for.

Overall, when i was playing the demo I felt like they turned it into an interactive movie, with big heroism and badassery, I know they wanted to streamline the game so it could be more approachable to a wider crowd but I couldn't help myself but feel they dumbed it down, it has a certain Mass Effect 2- like feel to it

,especially in the dialogue, which has shorter variations of the sentences you can select and even hints if you're going to say something bas or good. I liked the morally ambiguous world of DA where the lines between good and bad were blurred and pretty much every major decision was in the gray area.

Go look at DLC scores for other games.  Very rarely do they live up to the orignal unless your name is Rockstar or Valve.

You want to know why the big changes happen from ME1 to ME2 and DA:O to DA2?  It's because Bioware actually compiles what is written for feedback on these boards and adjusts accordingly.

ME1 Complaints:  This Inventory sucks!  Why do I need 47 Medical Exoskelton X's?  What the hell - Elevator rides?  Bioware, whats up with the Mako and empty planets?

ME2 Complaints:  Where's my inventory?  The end mission screen is terrible - I preferred the elevator rides!!!  Where's the exploration?!!!

DA:O Complaints:  Combat is boring!  Combat is unresponsive!  I feel like I'm wallking in mud!!!!

DA2 (Demo)Complaints:  It's God of War!  NO TATICZ!  Combat is too fast!!!

People around here want to know who to blame - Go look in the mirror.

A completely turn-based combat system is what I wanted. Ideally one with per-character initiative (Just a personal preference).  I didn't expect it, but that is what I would have wished for.  In a more generic sense, I want a system that requires as little of my own reactions to play a part in the combat as possible and have the character's reactions be the deciding factor.  This is one of the reasons I don't like the apparent speed up of combat in the demo - it increases the dependency on my reactions instead of being based on the characters abilities.

see? you do understand :)

Kidding aside, I get it... just not very happy about it. But it's not me / players like me, that bring in the biggest coin, so no point in whining.

Yes, because we're living the world of Captain Planet, where companies pollute just to pollute.

Wow.. The Dragon Age Demo really blew me away. I fell in love with dragon age origins because it really sucked me into the story, i mean I felt as if I was the character I had made and then when i stated hearing the new reports about the changes on Dragon Age 2 I was so disapointed.
I felt like you promoted the game badly and that really frustrated me but I relied upon you to make this game much better sso I finally fired up the demo on my ps3.
I flipped out this was the best game I have ever seen!! You blasted away all my worries and discovered what a solid game this truly was going to be I mean i see comp-laints about the mashing of x button and I think its worth it. I feel in control of all his move's im not watching a movie anymore im out there fighting these hordes of darkspawn.  I like being responsible for my swings it gives me a sense of real control that I had missed in origins.
The graphics i thought were fantastic it really got me juumping in excitement as I was hacking away at a giant ogre and having his blood smear all over my sword and armor.   It made me truly feel like my tank was a total bad ****. Plus the dialog wheel was so greratly improved!!   I cant tell you how many times i regreted making a statement in origins because it didnt sound quite the way I thought it did and now theres no worries!!
Plus the armor iv'e seen looks incredible I mean it really shows power and craftman ship and i think that absolutely amazing!  The only real negatives I had with the game is theres a slight skip in cut scenes and the skin looks a little pale but other than that I really enjoyed this piece of virtual art and expect me to be buying the pre order edition.  Though I am a little disapointed you ran out of sig editions , I feel as if many of us fans should get one but never the less thank you Bioware for another great game that I'll be looking forward to!

PS:  I know that multiplayer really isnt your guy's strength but I would like to see an online dlc with maybe some type of gladiator theme that way you dont need a story and could still implement the multiplayer in some way!
Maybe players could team up who dont have a name or a default name they choose for the announce to shout and fight animals or each other or have team death matches.  You could ever provide elements such as rewards and riches for the single player game!  I doubt this will ever become reality but I thank you for takingn the time to read my ideas and btw im looking into getting into game developing so hopefully maybe youll see me in the future for dragon age 4 LoL!Posted Image

For now I read only complaints sterile, and findings on what engineering actually bioware. It's just stupid to waste the attention that you have in this topic. :?

I could be wrong, but in A2 so far I saw only Isabela with an enourmous rack. Flemeth, Aveline and Bethany (the NORMAL version) haven't a large rack,

What normal version of Bethany? Did I missed something?

Anyway, in Origins a lot of women have a large breast. How do you feel about that?

Large but normal size, not some hentai. I dont say that all women needs to have small breasts, its not like that in reality. But Isabela and Bethany are just too ridiculous for game that is supposed to be mature as I said.

Anyway, its my opinion and this is just small thing(no pun intended). New interface is definitely erm..bigger issue for me. But I made my post about that few pages back.

Bethany has two versions. One is the exaggerate, where she has enormous breast, and one that as normal breast.
