It was taken like 4 months ago!and it's the exact same thing...just like the demo.Except a few changes here and there.
Unfortunately it's removed...but I managed to find another one!(not the same thing but it's still better than nothing)This one is even older(Gamecity Vienna 2010)not sure when this was taken but it was Posted in Sep 28, 2010!and still the same.My point is that,if this demo is indeed 5 months old, whose to say they didn't change or polish it?
I'm still optimistic about this game.

I am glad for the differences because I do not want to feel like I'm playing the same thing again with a few story changes. .
This has always been my true point. Thank you for articulating it for me lol. That is the primary reason why I DO love the demo so far and am confident I will love the full game when it comes out in less than 2 weeks. This isnt the late 80s early 90s anymore where a game sequel meant just that; The same gameplay just with a few story changes. I love change, it's what moves everything in life (including industry of all types) forward.

I really loved the fighting, it went a lot smoother than in DAO and I also liked the faster pace
I am a bit disappointed that you cannot be a warrior wielding 2 swords anymore, I really like to wear heavy plate armor and fight with two one-handed swords, well hopefully the game offers enough for at least 2 playthroughs ...
overall I really liked the demo, imo it showed me the good things I like from DAO and improved things I did not like that much (e.g. combat)

Indeed...like I said maybe seven pages back...everyone originally thought the automobile was the stupidist thing they ever saw...worst idea ever...look how that turned out.

Funny. Because when early automobiles were first made, they sold well and when Ford started mass-producing them, they became THE status symbol for any American family and began America's love affair with the car.
I'd like to see you back up that soundbite about "everyone thought the automobile was the stupidest thing they ever saw".

The good.
- The graphics of the environments and characters. While I personally prefer less than perfectly photogenic characters and gritter environments it worked for me, if a bit barren and non-interactive.
- The combat skills. DA:O suffered from many of the abilities, especially sustained abilities, being outright pointless. From what little I've seen of DA2 this have been addressed.
- The voice acting felt uninspired. Not really something that I expect to get addressed at this point and perhaps not a deal-breaker but conversations felt remarkably flat.
- Characters, even sideline figures and Hawke the thrashy refugee, felt and played unreasonably powerful. While there's a visceral appeal in that it hurts immersion for me.
- Voice acting the main protagonist. Depending on personal view and preference this can either enhance or break immersion. Food for thought.
- The camera could scroll out further. I don't need an isometric view, I never used that in DA:O as it locked the camera movement, but I'd like to be able to see more of the environement for a better overview.
- The bugs. Granted, this is just the demo but since I personally feel that the only major issue with DA:O were the large number of annoying bugs it's not inspiring a lot of confidence to see the DA2 demo displaying the same tendencies.
- The UI graphics. I'm getting far more of a ME feel than a DA one out the demo and while I liked ME quite a bit I believe it's a mistake to apply such a 'modern' UI graphic to a fantasy game. Again, it's something that breaks immersion for me personally.
- The dialog. Again more of a ME style and while that was perfect for that game it makes Hawke feel like sideline character rather than the main protagonist. It feels dumbed-down even if it turns out it isn't, judgement reserved until the final release.
- The combat is far, far too fast. It's all well and good to claim that strategic gameplay is still an option for those players that prefer to micro-manage combat but with the speed of combat and negligible cooldown timers on many abilities it end up unfeasible in actual play.
- Railroading the progression. Again I realize this is just a demo but it left no choice at all about where to go, what to explore and which people to interact with.
However, unless DA2 is very different from the demo it's likely I wouldn't be quite so quick to pre-order subsequent parts of the DA series.
I fully realize that DA2 more caters to the ADD generation and that they currently represent a far larger percentage of the potential customer base than us old-school roleplayers but right now I feel a bit like I've been caught in a bait-and-switch, seeing as how many of the things that made DA:O great for me might not make it into the sequel.
While DA2 no doubt has greater mass appeal than DA:O I'm not sure it makes good sense to develop the series in this way because the game market, even the AAA game market, is chock-full of action games catering to exactly the same crowd that DA2 is. Conversely, DA:O represents the only actual old-school RPG in the market in a good, long while - assuming one is not into JRPGs, and I'm not - and as such it was a mandatory buy.
I don't know how DA2 will turn out but after playing the demo I feel apprehensive to say the least. If the demo is truly representative of DA2 gameplay Bioware should probably have been a lot more clear about exactly how different the game really is. That it's not catering to the people that really loved DA:O.
I'm no begrudging Bioware taking the DA franchise in a different direction, at least not for one game, but if it's as different as it seems the company should have been more forthcoming about it.
If it's one thing I'd like to stress from this post it's the fact that while action games garner larger market appeal they're also part of a vastly larger market. DA:O enjoyed little or no competition in its niche, a game similar to the DA2 demo can't say the same.

You say "love affair" like it's a bad thing...It's called 'technology" and once again, "moving forward". What? You think we should still be riding horses or whatnot just so we dont leave a sodding "carbon footprint" on the planet? Please!!! By the time we have to worry about that, all of us, ALL of us here will be LONG dead and turned to dust. So in truth, kyle's point is quite valid. Unless of course im misinterperating the tone of your statement lol.

Indeed...everyone thought the automobile was a waste as they would always break and thought the horse and buggy was perfectly fine. Yet time proved them wrong...hmmmmmm...however despite the strikeing resemblence to DA2's situation I'm SURE it won't end that way AT ALL.

I'm a bit worried about skills that our characters starts with, for the first few minutes I just switch to another character because the hero is just boring. In my opinion its just a waste of first skill point. I hope in full game when we will have access to characters customisation window we will be able to choose that 1st point ourselves.
